Jerry
Jerry set a steady pace as he made his way through the city's crowds. He was fairly accustomed to the hustle and bustle of city life, his upbringing had almost always left him somewhere cramped with many other people, but this city was new to him. He had just graduated from the Celadon Institute of Pokemon Research and was now on his way to Port Sapphire to begin his journey. He had stayed the night in Gimmerdark District, as the hotels around Port Sapphire had seemed outlandishly costly with his current meager funds. As it was his education expenses had left him bordering on poverty, but he hoped to turn all that around soon.
As he made his way through the crowded sidewalk he could not help but notice someone pushing through the mass, clearly in a hurry. He couldn't tell who was pushing through, but he could tell with their current route they would be going past him in a few moments. He considered trying to elbow his way through the crowd on either side of him for a moment in order to get out of the way, but then decided it would be better to just wait and try to move aside with the crowd when whoever was pushing through made their way to him. It was both and ingrained sense of manners around large crowds as well as a momentary curiosity about who could swell the crowd in such a way that kept him from taking preemptive action.
As the one pushing through he crowd neared he saw that they alone were not making the path clear, but several people seemed to be escorting the person and pushing back the way for them. He had only a few minutes to think about how that made sense before they were upon him and his section of crowd. As expected the crowd parted to the side naturally as the escorts helped make room, and Jerry naturally followed suite. Once he was to the side, he turned his head to see who was so important and in such a hurry as to be being escorted through. When he saw Vio and her multicolored hair he was surprised, he had expected some sort of important businessman, not a young woman with a pet haunter. He had only a moment to be distracted before another member of the crowd displaced Vio's friends running escort moved his leg in front of Jerrys and caused him to trip. Off balance he slid to the side into the only open space around him and fell directly in front of the woman.
