Tiberius is a rather sarcastic and sardonic sort of man. He uses humor to make light of a situation but when his humor runs out he gets very quiet. He is not a boastful man but he has his pride - he does not back down from a challenge. Ever since he was sold to the first Ludas he's fought to prove that he's worthy of something; he's worthy to exist. And as long as his loyalty is returned in kind he will go down with the ship.

Tiberius' mother was a free roman citizen by the name of Flavia. She was the daughter of a well loved merchant in the city. One day, while on trade with her father as they traveled with a small military band, Flavia traveled too far away from the encampment. She was taken by a roaming band of Visgoth as spoils. She managed to get free of him months later and made her way back to her father. But by that time she was clearly pregnant. The child was born and named - Tiberius. At the very least he was allowed to live. The strong name and a home was perhaps the only gifts she ever gave him.
For most of Tiberius' life, he was ill treated and ignored. He had a roof over his head and a few rations of food but not much else. He was treated much like a slave as he was b*****d borne. Especially as his mother's first marriage neared. For his twelfth birthday, he was sold by his mother to a Ludas of moderate standing. He served them until he became strong enough to train as a gladitor.
Once he took to the sands, Tiberius finally found his place among the so called pure Romans. He was apt with a sword but better with a spear. He made himself a small reputation in the smaller venues, eventually bringing honor and glory to the smaller house he was sold to. Until one day when he fought at the largest, most sought after venue in the area. He saw victory but at great cost to himself as he'd broken a leg. His master at the time sold him for ample coin.
Thankfully this time found him in a better condition than before. At age twenty-one, with a broken leg, Tiberius had been sold to the great Ludas belonging to Zoroastres. The Dominus saw something in him during that fight and despite the injury made purchase of his bonds. It took a while for his leg to heal but regardless of the wound, Tiberius kept practicing as much as he could and working the leg so that he didn't suffer too much lasting damage.
Since then, Tiberius has only known defeat maybe once or twice. Each time he fought well enough to have the crowd's favor to grant him his life. He may not be the champion of the house but he is a favored Gladiator.
