Ash walked alongside Clara as the Togekiss flew overhead. Behind, him his Pyroar followed at a more leasurely pace. He had returned to the academy after hearing no word from Nick for months. It had hurt, knowing his friend might've dissapeared and that all the while Ash though they were getting closer Nick apparently didn't think they were close enough or even important enough to let him know he was leaving.
With a heavy sigh the librarian walked a bit behind his pokemon, frowning when he noticed Clara hover above an actual person.
"hello" he said catching up to his pokemon "are you new here? Sorry about Clara, I guess she thought you needed company"
In his arms and sporting his ESP yellow vest Equis waved at the stranger. While the Pyroar trotted up behind him.
"My name is Aislin, I'm the librarian." he said by way of introduction.

Aislin laughed-the first laugh since he had found out about Nick-- when the other man mentioned his 'pack' surrounding him. "Mon ami, Clara hardly eats people" he said pointing up at his togekiss who hoevered in flight above them. "And Lana's too lazy to really eat anyone" he added chuckling a bit when his Pyroar grumbled defensively...while lying down.
He tilted his head in thought when he was asked if being a librarian meant being a bookworm. Ash supposed he Could be one, in that he loved to read but he also liked dancing and soccer and had been considered a jock for most of his high school years.
"I suppose I have to be" he said sitting down next to the man. "I'm stuck inside the library for most of the day, not much to do but read when I'm not putting books away"
He had found his job at a private school to be much more mild than that of the average librarian. There weren't programs to coordinate or events to put up or tutors to contact. Mostly he just put books away in the morning, assisted students who came in, and put books away before closing. It had led to him really enjoying his time outside.
"Its nice to meet you" he said when the man -Kaden- introduced himself. His heart squeezing oddly when he figured this was Nick's replacement. ( so he really was gone huh. Okay then) "Also I'd like to add..your pokemon certainly look like they want to make Me a meal" he said with a smile pointing at the very protective creatures.
Maybe sitting down next to Kaden hadn't been the best idea.
"I usually walk Clara around here in the mornings" he said by way of answer when Kaden asked if he was here to ditch too, pointing up at the togekiss who had taken to the air again. Equis remained on his arms, as an emotional support pokemon it was his job to be around Aislin all the time. "though I'll gladly keep a newbie like you company" Asilin's eyes were open and playful despite the slight smirk that accompanied his words.
"You know if you're looking to play hooky, this is the worst place to not get caught" he pointed out looking around at how in the open they both were.

"Togekiss are more likely to hug you to death than anything" Aislin said laughing again when Kaden said Clara looked like a hunter in wait. The bliss pokemon looked about as dangerous as a plushie.
"I'm sure Lana feels in good company" he said when Kaden said that he was just as lazy as his pyroar
"I got her as a graduation present from my family in Kalos" he said "she's a breeder's pokemon as pampered as can get, I don't think she knows How to hunt"
The pyroar in question gave a rumble of protest but didn't move from the place where she was spread out.
"Oh you know you're nothing but a Chat Botte" he said to the feline pokemon.
He raised his eyebrows in amusement when Kaden said his pokemon cold be bribed by food.
"Well I'll keep that in mind, I happen to be an excellent chef" he said with a grin. The smile stayed on his face as Kaden stated that he could get away with Anything as the librarian.
"You know that's what I told the last janitor..and the breeding teacher. They weren't really up to anything fun. Shame no?"
When Kaden asked if he'd still think it was nice to meet him if he snuck into the library to avoid responsabilities.
"Pero mon ami. That's what libraries are for!"
A mischivieous glint caught Aislin's eye when Kaden called him sempai and whined about not knowing all the good places to hide. On a whim, he grabbed the other man's hand and pulled him up.
"When then stick with me newbie, and keep up" he said dragging him away, motioning for the pokemon to follow.
