Now that Death has been freed and the Gates broken, Mkodi has arrived to confront him, and everyone else has been ejected from the Haven, no exceptions. The gods will be stuck down on earth for the duration of the battle that is now ongoing. None, aside from his allies (Justice, Thieves, and Rebirth), or someone informed by one now that the plan has been executed, would know exactly what happened or why. Due to the action needing to take place offscreen (certain things needed to happen just so, the trickiness of actually RPing Mkodi, etc.), there's no large godly ORP in which to participate, but everyone is welcome to have their own RPs for their gods to discuss/argue/fight over the happenings.
Now, as for the repercussions for the mortal plane! The two major deities of SoA are duking it out up in the heavens, and throwing a lot of power at each other. Collateral damage is not only possible, but likely: with all the raw power being thrown around, some pretty crazy stuff can happen down on earth - prolonged darkness, natural disasters, weirdly supernatural phenomena (ghostly lights, bizarre noises, unintelligible disembodied voices, etc.), spontaneous geographical changes (splits in the earth, etc.), possibly chunks of the gates and Haven falling down, so on and so forth. If you own a pride, it is your choice whether or not anything will happen to your pride's lands. It's entirely up to you what, if anything, happens within them. However, everyone will at the very least see some pretty crazy lights and things up in the sky, and may experience some freak storms. It should be pretty clear to everyone that something is happening up there.
If and when there are any physical changes in SoA's 'rogue' lands, they will be noted here, but small-scale things such as odd weather, inexplicable darkness, ghost lights, tremors, and so on can be assumed as you like.
If you have a deceased character, yes, this means their soul is currently loose, but it is not playable. They don't have any real will or consciousness in their current state, and cannot interact or be interacted with as any kind of ghost or poltergeist, nor can they be felt in dreams, visions, tingles, or in any other way, shape, or form. They can only be actively discerned by Death or Souls at this point in time. There will be no possessions or hauntings, although a location or two may pop up that just gives people "the creeps." Again, this will be noted.

• Death was NOT created by Mkodi, but much like her, has simply always Been. They are equal (if opposing) in power and standing. • In the early days of Creation, they coexisted in a balanced alliance. • After she had finished creating, Haven and Heaven and gods last, she (possibly with help from some of her most loyal/similarly-aligned creations), she tricked and betrayed Death, and took something from him that gave her power over him, and set him to guard the Gates of Heaven. Didn't like having an equal, didn't trust him, couldn't kill him, so she bound him. • Occasionally and with assistance, since he could not leave his post, Death would defy her by returning a soul to earth to be reborn, but those small acts of defiance are no longer enough. He is done playing guard dog. • With help, Death has stolen back what was his, and with it regained his power. He's had an eternity to plan this, and now that he's free, he intends to make Mkodi regret imprisoning him by bringing down Heaven letting all the souls loose. • This all kicks off a battle between Death and Mkodi, at which point anyone in the Haven would find themselves forced out, and it would remain inaccessible until the fight is over. With all the raw power being thrown around, some pretty crazy stuff can happen down on the mortal place - prolonged darkness, natural disasters, weirdly supernatural phenomena, spontaneous geographical changes (splits in the earth, etc.), possibly chunks of the gates and Haven falling down, so on and so forth. This is random, collateral damage, so if anyone wants to be a scrooge about drama, their lands can get away with freak storms and seeing trippy stuff in the sky. • Ultimately, Mkodi is chased off, and no one knows where she went or when or if she'll come back. • Rather than leaving *all those souls* lost and drifting around, Death maybe renovates Heaven into more of a Greek-style Underworld/afterlife? And then has to go about collecting and sorting everyone he let loose to where they deserve to be, whether that's in the 'good' section or the 'bad' one (or the 'meh' one), or back into a body. By this point some of the loose ones have already maybe found new bodies to be born into, and he'll also probably never get ahold of every last soul he let loose...so we can maybe introduce a creepy cursed/haunted area or something.

Reincarnation OOC Limitations and Requirements:• No more than one reincarnation, per player, per year • Player must have owned the character they wish to reincarnate • The character the player wishes to have reincarnated needs a history of 10 breeding-length RPs OR involvement in a shop or pride meta that led to their death.* • Characters with difficult/incendiary histories may be denied reincarnation, or may have restrictions put upon them. *EXCEPTIONS: • Because SoA is such an old shop, and there are a fair number of characters who passed before this change to the lore, each player may bring back one previously deceased character (must have died prior to dd/mm/2019) for 'free,' with no requirements aside from ownership. Additionally, each player may reincarnate one previously deceased character with halved requirements (5 breeding-length RPs). • These exceptions still count towards the one-per-year rule. Appearance:• There are no species or gender limitations, anyone can come back as anything. • Characters should not look recognizable across reincarnations, and may retain only ONE physical trait: eye color, a small markings, etc. • This physical trait may not be one that is exclusive to the family they were originally born into (i.e. Masuka's 'curse' mark) unless they are being born back into that family. Obtainment:• Reincarnations must begin at cub/pup/baby stage. • Reincarnations must be obtained as customs or breeding customs. • If a reincarnation is obtained via breeding custom, the owners of both parents MUST approve it. • If a reincarnation obtained via breeding custom is a character who previously wronged or killed an ancestor of that family, the player of the character who was wronged or killed will also need to grant permission. IC Limitations:• A reincarnated character may NOT have the same name, or a variation of it. • Except in shop meta circumstances, reincarnated characters will not remember their previous lives, even in dreams or even if they are seers. • Only a handful of characters exist in the shop that would recognize a character as reincarnated (Mkodi, Death, Souls, Rebirth, Nchekwube of the N'ezi-ozu); seers and most gods will not be able to tell. • Please do not make requests to the players of the above-listed characters to have them reveal your character's history, as they will not do so; the most they can reveal is that the character is a rebirth, with no details whatsoever. • A character may be drawn to or repulsed by certain things, people, or places, but they will be unaware as to why (they may fall in love with the reincarnation person they had loved in a previous life, be afraid of water if they drowned, etc.); they should not, however, feel drawn to their family nor have a reaction to hearing their previous name (this block is in place to prevent them from learning who they were); the most feeling they should ever get about something or someone is very vague deja vu/heebie jeebies. • Reincarnations have been made a possibility so that characters have a chance at a new start for a new life, which is why we are being so strict about them not being able to discover who they were. This mechanic has not been introduced just so they can be exactly the same person and do all the same things, to fuel a ton of angst or open old wounds, to restart or take over their old pride, etc. The Process:•You must fill out the form below and wait for approval. Keep in mind that some characters, as stated above, may be denied at the shop's discretion, or you may be required to make changes. •You may only have one form active at a time. If you have multiple characters you're interested in reincarnating, you'll have to prioritize. •'One per year' applies to calendar year, so you could have a character reincarnated in December of 2019, then another in January of 2020...but then nothing again until 2021, and so on. •The form must be filled out in its entirety: no TBDs or lack of visual reference. Plan ahead, have everything ironed out before you post. SoA's Original Name: SoA's Original Image(s): SoA's New Name: (remember, this should not be related to their old name) Reference Image for Reincarnated Form: Summary of Original History+Personality: Are you pursuing this as a regular custom or breeding custom?: If breeding custom, into what pairing? Have you obtained permission from the parents' owners? (if you own one parent, you must still get permission from the other) Indicate here that you have read all of the above and agree to comply to the rules and regulations involved in character reincarnation, and understand that if you break the rules, the character may be revoked: Yes/No

Time was a strange, twisting thing. Easy to lose track of, especially for a god, and especially in the Haven and beyond. And they had been beyond it, outside of it entirely, into a great, dark emptiness past existence itself. It was a terrifying, soul-chilling nothing, and she would count herself lucky to never see it again in this lifetime or any other. They had only spent what felt like moments there, but though they had yet to realize it, they'd been gone for far longer...or at least, they had been as far as the waking world was concerned. Maybe they really only had been away for an hour, by their own reckoning, but had simply come back into time later than they had meant to.
They'd been in a hurry, after all, and had never done anything like this before, flung out beyond reality by an ancient, fading power to do the impossible, and given barely enough to for them all to make the return trip. They couldn't help it if they hadn't been exact, if the timing or the place wasn't quite right; if anything, they were lucky to make it back at all. But making it back wasn't the end of it: the job wasn't done yet, and time was of the essence, now that they were back in the flow of it. Wrath surely followed close behind them, and would be far more accurate than they had.
Two of them snapped back into existence in the familiar chill of the Haven, staggering paws leaving prints and furrows in fresh snow. Heavy breaths panted steam into the cold air, and weeping rivulets of bright blood and black decay mixed together and spread out across the white landscape like gangrenous veins. The larger of the two figures threw a barred wing over the other and cast a hurried glance around, ignoring the speed and virulence of the unnatural infection. There wasn't time to wonder after it, nor after the whereabouts of their conspirators - who knew where or when they had emerged? The most important of them was here and now, and they would finish what they'd started.
"We have to hurry. Come on." The older goddess shouldered the weight of the other, as much as she could, to hurry them both towards the Gates, but the other soon stumbled and fell, hunching in on herself with a wracking cough that brought up more of the thick black ooze and choked out whatever words she might have responded with. Her companion grabbed her up by the strap of the bag she wore slung around her, bringing her to her feet and half-dragging her onward.
"Is this—really—necessary?" the other finally gasped out between coughs, an improbable ghost of laughter bubbling up right along with the blood and gunk.
"Stop talking," the paler figure growled out from between clenched teeth, her hold on the leather strap deforming the words, "You're making a mess."
"Might 's well," she slurred, "Though that was—that's the point, yeah?"
More coughing ensued, negating another insistence to shut up already, and they continued their staggering-dragging progress further and further, leaving a deep trail behind them. They would be easy to follow and find, but the one they were running from wouldn't need to track them, anyway. They would know exactly where they were going. The only variable was when they were, and perhaps that was what allowed them to reach their goal without being intercepted. With a grunt, the pale goddess tugged hard at her coughing, bleeding partner, and sent her staggering the last few steps to collapse against the living shadow at the foot of the Gates.
Golden shackles dissolved, and crackles of power raced out through the lines of darkness that had spread through the Haven, only for the darkness and power both to be snapped back in a rush, returned to their rightful owner at long last. Behind him, the shining gates groaned, then fractured, a jagged rupture that split and toppled the massive structure.
Death stood tall before the destruction, massive wings spreading as one goddess slumped beside him and the other gaped open-mouthed, but lightning cracked through the moment. The vengeance they had just barely outrun had finally caught up to them - too late to stop them, but here to see that they paid for what they had done. The paler goddess threw herself over the other as lighting flashed again, wings curling around her, bracing for the end—
Both were swept aside by an inky wing, thrown from the Haven and out of the way of the storm.

Death, Guardian of the Gates of Heaven, has broken free of the chains placed on him by Mkodi, and let loose every mortal soul held captive in Heaven. [???] Rising

Lake of Sighs One of the many tremors across the lands has split a previously peaceful region of unclaimed land about a day's walk from the --- border, opening up a crater into which water has begun to rush up from below. It...might be water? Then again, it has a rusty-black color and an acrid odor, so...maybe not? It would take a very desperate or foolish soul to drink or swim in it and find out the hard way. The sides of the crater are steep and crumbling, and getting down them (or back up again!) would be a tricky task for an adventurer to accomplish without falling in. As to why they might want to, well, there are some very interesting noises coming from the water, remiscent of voices and yet not, and darting lights and shadows just below the surface... Interaction with or around the Lake of Sighs is optional, but if you choose to RP in its vicinity, each character must roll a 1d12. 1-3. You not only hear something, you see something, and an unusually strong curiosity pulls you to the edge...and the earth gives way beneath you, and you fall! You tumble down into the dark, acrid liquid. (Roll a 1d4!) - 1. Something grabs ahold of you and pulls you down! Down, down into the dark. Just when you're about to black out, it releases you and you struggle back to the surface, and are eventually able to climb out of the crater. You swallowed a lot of water, though, and will be deathly ill and fevered for at least three days, and spend a further three weeks clawing your way back to health. As if that weren't bad enough, you develop temporary skin issues, and some of your fur falls out! - 2. Whoa, that was close! You manage to stop yourself just before you fall all the way in, and only your back feet touch the water - but they were scraped up by the rocky slide down, and the liquid burns on your broken skin! You'll have tender feet for a week, and could develop an infection if you're not careful. - 3. Head-over-heels you go, somersaulting right into the water! You splutter your way back to the side and climb out, but you did swallow some water. You'll have a fever and chills for two days, but be back to normal in a week. Aside from your itchy, irritated skin and subsequent fur loss. - 4. Phew! You cling to the loose, sliding sides for dear life, and nothing but the very tip of your tail touches the water! You uh...didn't need that, did you? Good, because you'll lose some of the hair on it. 4-6. You could swear you heard someone you once knew whisper in your ear, but you can't make out what they're saying! That's...not creepy at all. 7-9. What is that? A huge, dark shadow moves under the water, rippling the surface. You peer down over the edge and slip! Oh no! (Roll a 1d4!) - 1. You skid down, getting a grip just as you splash down into the water. Whew, close one! But as you take a moment to catch your breath, something bites down on whatever part of you is in the water! It quickly lets go giving you time to get to safety, but it's a deep, jagged bite, and a nasty infection will set in within the day. If you're not careful - or are just unlucky - you could lose the limb. - 2. Whoa! Desperate for something to hold onto, you grab whoever you're with. You both start to tumble down the steep sides toward the ominous lake below. Players' choice if the characters only get a partial dip (in which case they will experience skin issues and fur loss, or pain and infection if they have broken skin) or swallow any liquid (a small amount will lead to fever and chills for a day plus a further week's recovery, whereas a larger amounts mean worse initial sickness and longer recovery time: each day of bad illness needs a week of recovery), or just get scraped up by the rocks and each other on the way down. If you're alone, or all your companions have rolled a fall (if they rolled and didn't fall, though, they're going down now!), treat this as a 3. - 3. You fall headlong into the water...and, speaking of heads, you hit yours on the way down! Dazed, you struggle to to stay above the water, and gulp some down on your way back to the edge. You will be deathly ill and fevered for at least a day, and spend a further two weeks getting back to full strength. You also develop temporary skin issues, and some of your fur falls out! - 4. You catch yourself just in time and scramble back from the edge. Ha! No one saw that, right? You were just messing around, that's all! 10-12. Yeah, no. Just no. This place gives you the creeps, and you are staying well away from the edge. Surely you'll be safe back here!

1. Small rocks fall from the sky! Each character must roll a 1d4. - 1. You get hit right on the head and are knocked unconscious! You'll be left with a gash at the very least, if not a cracked skull. - 2. You take a direct hit, but at least it's not to the head! The rock leaves a good gash, and could crack bone depending on where it hit. - 3. Just a glancing blow, you get by with barely a scratch. - 4. Today's you're lucky day, and you're not hit at all. 2. Just a nice, normal day! At least until it's suddenly not day anymore. It's as dark as night out here! 3. Who doesn't love a good monsoon? In a matter of a moments, clear skies are replaced by dark clouds, torrential rain, and accompanying thunder and lightning. 4. It really is just a normal day! Nothing out of the ordinary here. 5. That crackling green mass of light just hanging there can't be a good thing...anyone brave(?) enough to touch it rolls a 1d4. - 1. Congratulations! You're zapped forward in time, and next thing you know, it's two weeks later. (Other RP participants just see this character disappear and assume them missing/dead.) - 2. Yikes! You get a good, painful shock. Enjoy dizzy spells and heart palpitations for a week. - 3. Whoa! Where'd everybody go? Where are you?! You've been zapped 1-10 miles away (but are still within unclaimed territories - no dropping uninvited on pridal lands!). I...hope you weren't too near the ocean. (Other RP participants just see this character disappear and assume them missing or dead until/unless they catch up with them. If multiple characters roll this, they appear in different places.) - 4. You get such a bad shock that you black out, and after you wake, are prone to dizzy spells and heart palpitations for a few weeks. 6. Hello, sinkhole! Each character should roll a 1d4: odd numbers are going down, even numbers are safe and get to help their friend(s). Or, you know, just leave them. Whichever. 7. Is that a...tornado? A little lion-sized one? Maybe uh...maybe stay away from that. Or not, and get picked up and thrown several feet, and have fun with the scrapes and bruises and possible broken bones. 8. Aww, what cute little will-o-the-wisps! They drift and dance around, but evade any attempts to touch them, and eventually fade away. 9. Is that...singing? It's impossible to make out the words or find the source, but it's damn creepy. 10. It's raining frogs! Gross. 11. Oh, did you think you were in Africa? A little hot for you? Here, have a 20-minute blizzard, that should cool you right off. 12. Earthquake! It's minor, little more than a tremor, but still. 13. The wind kicks up, and a dark, eerie fog blows in. You're separated from your companions within seconds, and can't see them anywhere...all participants roll a 1d4. (The fog and its effects will last about half an hour.) - 1. Something isn't right about this fog! It becomes difficult to breathe, and after several minutes of struggling and coughing, you black out, and won't be found until after the fog dissipates. - 2. You see two shapes fighting in the fog. Is someone in trouble?! Try as you might, you can't reach them. - 3. You trip over something and look down to see the lifeless body of one of your companions. (Note: this is a hallucination, but your character won't know that until the fog dissipates.) - 4. You could swear you see someone you knew who passed away, and they look like they want you to follow them, but no matter how fast you run, they're just out of reach. 14. Nothing strange here, enjoy your boring old day with your boring old friend(s). 15. It's raining! Creepy, red, disturbingly blood-like rain. Great. 16. Hailstorm! If you get hit with a big enough chunk, it could really hurt, or even knock you out. 17. Weren't you just here, like, twenty minutes ago? You've somehow looped back around, or else this is some really weird deja vu. 18. A whole flock of birds drops out of the sky, all dead. That...can't be good. 19. You come across a circle of land, fifty feet in diameter, where all the vegetation is dead and black, and several prey animals lie rotting within. I hope you weren't hungry. 20. Players' choice! Discuss with your fellow RPers and choose which of the above situations you want to play.
