So it is July. Many of us are melting more than sitting at our desks. I know that personally, a full stein of ice water is barely enough. I entirely empathize with all of you in the heat of summer.

Unfortunately, we've turned into a nest of wasps during this time of heated competition. Some of the nastiness has come from outside, in the form of trolls that are attacking all of us. Some of it, apparently, is also coming from within.

I quite understand the desire to compete. Sure, I want to get the silver in Gambino this month. I realize that certain players have been fishing their butts off since the beginning of the month. It's easy to see them as "crazy" or whatever. Guess what, the people behind the avatars can actually be nice people, the sort you wouldn't mind chatting with at a coffee shop. I'll join in with a mug of English Breakfast in my hand, please?

I wish to remind everyone that there's something quite a bit larger at stake here. One of the reasons for this month's competition is to help the admins see our passion for this game we love so much. We want to see the admins make a fantastic update for the game that will serve us for many years. This goal will not be aided by vicious sniping.

So please, everyone, don't let the heat get to you. I know that's all too easy, but let's please save the venom for the real threats, like trolls who are threatening our leaderboard as a whole. Hey, I've been "pooped on" by two trolls this month already. I'm feeling the pain too. Also, please don't forget that the admins could always choose to let this game die.

Let's please stick together lest we all be torn from the docks permanently.
