As long as it is not canon, it's ok for me.
I remember I read somewhere that one of the protagonists (Rogue trader's daughter) is really not fond of weapons and likes to discover things.
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. That's a case for the Inquisition for sure. mrgreen
All in all, it seems like a lot of politics crammed into WH40k and made absolutely pg13. (Unlike some parts of the Night Lords trilogy... I am looking at YOU, Voidstalker!) I can understand that appealing to a younger audience comes with a certain "price" but taking away the premise of "grimdarkness"? I do not think it will work that way well, especially looking at "will they after reading this move over to more adult 40k + start with the hobby?".
And besides: why would such books interest children anyway? If they want non-combat/non-weapon/non-violent trouble solving...there are plenty of other things to turn to. lol Maybe not in sci-fi, but still.
Also can't wait for this story to happen: > Parent does not know anything about Wh40k > has child interested in sci-fi > kind of a rare kid, likes Star Trek > parent wants to try out something new, buys WH Adventures book > kid hooked > mayIhaveanother.png > parent picks up the Lucius book > ohgodwhy > kid's really hooked > MOAR > here ya go, Night Lords and Khârn for you
> some weeks later, a birthday party > children play > one trips, hits knee > small bleeding > "BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!" > "KHORNE DOES NOT CARE FROM WHERE THE BLOOD FLOWS, ONLY THAT IT FLOWS!" > kid will never be invited to any other birthday parties lol

"KHORNE DOES NOT CARE FROM WHERE THE BLOOD FLOWS, ONLY THAT IT FLOWS!" ...... cat_xd Joking aside, it is also for parents that wants to introduce it to their kids but think the other books are too much.

It's sad that the authors writing these books have been targeted by a very toxic and hostile community vehemently against this sort of thing.

Vikki Stardust It's sad that the authors writing these books have been targeted by a very toxic and hostile community vehemently against this sort of thing. I do not think they grasp that they are helping the "opposition" by acting that way. On the other hand, i have some odd delusion-like feeling that GW is not the slightest surprised at that reaction .... We'll have to see what happens.

Toxic neckbeards have been around forever and their hatred for everything even slightly outside their comfort zone will be here to stay.
I'll be doing my part and get both books, I'm sure my piglet will find them fun, if not, there's always a friend I can annoy with these. blaugh
