Aquaman & Impulse

Arthur was in mid-scale when spears were being flicked his way. Landing too close to comfort beside him. He turned around for a second to see who was providing this fire and back at the now detached and glowing tip. "Neptune's beard." he groaned, taking his trident from the wall, and jumping up so the explosion would boost him to ascend. It was a long shot but the momentum provided should allow him to direct his trident through the structure and balance himself. He would land on the building where Impulse, Nightwing, and Supergirl were taking on living statues.

Impulse zipped around with ease as the statues tried to stab him. He casually answered Nighwing's question while doing so too. "Felt like a long time." he answered in regards to how long he'd been up there waiting. More swiped and more missed. It was a bad game of tag really. He wished they would give up. He started to stand in front of one soldier to make it stab the next and so on. His video game was still fresh on his mind and this was time consuming. He also starting to become hungry.

Hurdling towards the duo was a giant stone club that Impulse was caught off guard by, his eyes grew at the thought of his and Nightwing's heads being torn off their shoulders when it suddenly shattered. He looked about confused and turned to see Supergirl. He beamed at her with a smile. "Hey. Thanks." he said, looking back to see Aquaman finally arrived. "Oh you're not dead. Cool."

Nightwing

So there were now inanimate objects trying to kill d**k Grayson and honestly that was probably one of the more normal things he had seen that day. Dodging the statues and suits of armor had been easy and an explosive wingding or two seemed to do the job as far as dismantling the magical soldiers went. Nightwing was grateful that Supergirl had arrived when she had but her arrival hardly solved all of their problems. If there was any magic he knew how to fight it was moving suits of armor and statues. It was just fighting, no creepy blood control that forced him to do things. Then Supergirl showed up and made the statues a problem of the past. "Thanks, Supergirl." He said with the only smile he could manage before pulling out his grapnel gun again and looking down towards Zatana and Brother Blood. They hadn't made it up to the group yet but maybe they were just slow- not being killed- so Nightwing wanted to help. He was sure as hell not helping Brother Blood first so he fired the grapnel gun at Zatana hoping to help pull her up.

Tower of Fate

The words of the Lantern meant bounced off of Blood. Quite frankly, if anyone got in his way, he wouldn't mind draining every last ounce of blood they had. He watched as Nightwing shot down his grapnel gun towards Zatanna, clearly the vigilante was more worried for his friends than the fate of the world. ❝Blood has no use for your toys, boy.❞ He snarled before he began to lunge again. He hated every last one of them. It wasn't the normal sort of hatred, where you curl your lip. No. It was bloodcurdling. So much so that it made Blood feel superhuman. He used that aggression as continued to leap in the same fashion. That was until a spear had shot out and pierced Blood. He was knocked off of the wall amidst his lunging and was plummeting below. Though, there it was. The essence of life that trickled out of his wound and into the air. Blood. At his command, his eyes glowed red and he drew of the magic he could from it. A red explosion marked his arrival as he teleported using the blood that was dripping from his shoulder.

❝I can feel my magic being syphoned, and no doubt the sorceress will too. That's the function of this tower now. Magic will only serve Trigon.❞ He raised a hand that was guarded by a bone looking gauntlet and pointed a finger at the entourage. ❝I am not going to pretend for a second I am here out of the kindness of my heart, but if you want to survive...❞ He let his blood spill onto the ground and watched as it spilled out and begin to draw over the ground. It was a red ritual circle that was marked with foul runes that were distasteful to the eye. He stumbled to the center of it, and his eyes began to glow red. ❝--Tell the witch that any assistance is welcomed.❞ He scowled before he entered a trance like state at the center of the circle. Blood was performing a ritual to destroy the Tower of Fate, and with enough magic left to get himself out of there. Had he enough magic, Blood would surely remove them from the Tower of Fate as well, not on the grounds that he genuinely wanted to save them but he certainly did not want Trigon claiming another soul. What he only imagined would come now would be Trigon's legions to prevent Blood from completing the ritual.

After descending along crumbling slate steps that had once upon a time displayed intricate designs along the stairwell. The small band of heroes made their way down into the depths of some forgotten hell. The darkness of the stairwell corridor shifted as the group spilled out into the hallway leading into the throne room. Expecting to be greeted possibly by the host of this humbled abode was not there. There was however, a bestial guard that awoke to their trespass. Another trap, no doubt. As the beast rose up from its place of rest, the vibration from the weight of the creature shook the very ground they stood upon. It's threatening roar and spitfire directed towards the lot, made it known that they were not welcomed. Every step thus far was a trial. What they could not afford was any error on their part.

Diana was in the process of reaching back in a swift, fluid movement to remove her shield when she heard John Constantine call out to her. "Sorry, love. I'll be right back! Ask Jason how to use this!" As she diverted her attention away from the beast, over towards him. She noticed some sort of device tossed over to her. Catching the small metallic device she came to realize it was a lighter. Staring at the lighter in a confused manner before lifting her gaze to watch John depart the fight heading back in the direction of where they had just emerged forth. Wonder Woman wasn't given an ample amount of time to debate the issue of his sudden departure, that would have to wait for whenever they met back up. Pocketing the lighter for the time being, she returned her attention towards the trouble at hand.

Just out of earshot for normal people, she heard Robin move eagerly across the floor to face a demonic dragon ten times his height, thankfully with Superman in tow behind. Glancing away from the mighty duo she turned her attention over towards Cyborg and Etrigan who appeared to have a moment of pause at the sight. Pushing off the ground with momentum, she purposely blocked the blackened ash and fire being spewed out in their direction with her shield all while forcing the two to move in stride with her steps. Feeling the lick of flames casting its heat upon her flesh she made sure to arc her shield up in an angle to deflect the onslaught of fire making its presence known upon them. "MOVE!" She shouted with urgency towards Cyborg and Etrigan as she deflected as much of the heat showering their way. Skidding across the landscape as the molten magma dripped away from her armor and onto the ground in a threatening hiss of more to come if they weren't fast enough to move away from its wrath. She was concerned for the well being of Robin, since he was not a metahuman or demigod. Diana knew that Superman would do everything in his power to make sure that Robin was taken care of. They would not be able to battle this beast alone, their numbers against this monstrosity could be taken down only if they worked together. "Unless thou's feet are molded into the ground with hardened clay, then I advice we move swiftly like the wind to freeze this beast and shatter it with brute force!" Diana stated over everyone's shared communication links. Sharing her thoughts - A plan set in motion of how they could handle the battle and defeat the beast. Turning in her stance as she ignored the annoying pain of fire burning against her skin. She was once again moving quickly in haste across the hardened rocks that crumbled beneath her weight as she moved to charge the beast with shield in hand.

Jason Blood moved as Diana advised him to, not wanting to be melted into a pile of goo. He then took heed to her advice about trying to freeze the beast. However he was unsure if his magic would work on such a creature, as this was not a normal denizen of hell, well one he’s never encountered before to be more accurate.

Jason would position himself to be at the hellwyrm’s side flank, so that and made sure was ample distance between himself and the creature. The other reason he did this was to avoid accidentally hitting one of his allies. Jason would wait until he had an opening then he would cast his spell, saying the word “Freeze!” with his hand arm outstretched towards the monstrosity. If the spell had work, an elemental eldritch blast would shoot out from Jason’s finger tips hitting the creature directly as its entire form would soon be consumed by ice. However Jason wasn’t expecting things to be easy so he had his sword out and ready, as well was ready to flee, if this action not only proved futile but only enraged the creature more.

The Palace of Belial

Frosty wind and chilling magic struck at the beast, ice suddenly starting to form along it's chest as the temperature had dropped significantly. The great beast's movements slowed as the frost over took it's form , making it difficult to strike at the incoming assault. This lasted for only a brief moment as the cracked trails of magma that crisscrossed over his brimstone flesh flared brightly, as the beast suddenly let loose a blast of heat that melted the ice that had proven so punishing before. If they had sought to quell his flames with the opposing elements it would prove futile. It roared furiously, the force of which shook the chamber walls to their foundation.

Flames had suddenly started to form along the borders of the room, the fiery ring illuminating the poorly lit chamber and seemingly trapping the heroes within, hellfire cutting off their only exit. Batarangs harmlessly bounced off it's flesh and the beast swiped reared up on it's hind legs, flapping it's great wings and sending forth a powerful gust of wind and flame to push back the approaching warriors that attempt to strike him.

The Tower of Fate

"Oh Sebastian." A voice called out the name of the treacherous Brother Blood, sounding off from seemingly everywhere at once. The animated guardians and floating weapons suddenly fell to the ground in a sudden clamor, sending pieces of metal and stone everywhere. "Did you truly believe that you would all impede the will of Trigon the Terrible? That somehow this traitorous wretch would somehow become your salvation?" The voice taunted as everything had become deathly quiet. The black miasma that had had risen after the group of heroes had suddenly come to a halt , collecting in a great black pit that awaited them only three levels below. As the heroes gathered on the final floor, standing around Brother Blood as he prepared his destructive ritual, the guardian of the Tower suddenly appeared.

In a great flash of blinding amethyst light did he appear, descending from the ceiling of the Tower. The once cerulean hued uniform had been burned black , the once golden shining ankh of Anubis now blazing a sickly emerald. His helmet once pristine and shimmering was now cracked and damaged, parts of it missing to reveal crimson toned flesh hidden within. There was a great length of chins, runes that were painful to look upon inscribed upon the metal links as well as his flesh that could be seen. The corrupted form of Doctor Fate descended from his eerie. "You all should have listened! " He shouted out in annoyance, two voices speaking as one. Fate was no longer in control, possessed by some greater force of destruction at the behest of Trigon. "Now you must all die! Die gloriously for Trigon!"Without wasting another second, the ruinous form that was Fate raised both of his hands, magical glyphs suddenly springing into life all around him. Dozens of bolts of black lightning struck out toward in every direction, approaching each of the intruders from randomized vectors. Stone that had been struck by said bolts burst apart with such destructive fury made it clear just how deadly this assault would be.

Raven

Raven had hardly recovered from the last use of the iron shackles when they heated up once more, scorching her flesh, and eliciting another scream, as more power was drawn in. It had become a familiar cycle of pain under her brother’s watch, yet it wasn’t the red-hot shackles which hurt most. They had failed. Her, Robin, Starfire, Cyborg and Best Boy. She had no idea if her fellow Titian’s were alive, but feared the worst. Her father had been freed, devouring millions of souls, and she had been the key to it all. Raven’s greatest fears had been realized. Bound and chained in hell, she could only imagine what was happening on Earth. Imaginations that were probably worse than the truth, but the mental torture she was putting herself through was much worse than the physical pain Belial inflicted upon her. Finally, it came to an end as the irons cooled until her brother felt like making her sing once more.

Perhaps his comment was meant to despair her further, but when he announced her saviours had arrived she looked up at him for the first time since waking up bound and chained in The Fortress-Palace of Belial. A glimmer of hope appeared in those violet eyes. It was clear her brother felt he had the upper hand, that her ‘saviours’ had no hope in freeing her and stopping Trigon, but they were still out there and still fighting, which was more than Raven had thought a second ago. She didn’t say anything, but after a moment a small smirk crossed her lips.

Vic knew that upon stepping foot into the literal depths of hell that they would be in for some s**t, even with Superman and Wonder Woman involved. Traversing through the area appeared seamless after forcing the hell-spawns to retreat back to wherever it was that they came from. Only now the mechatronic man wished that the demons were the least of their worriers. Cyborg put up a dome like shield to surround himself from the fires that broiled around him. The orange raging flames blocked off their only way out and just to his own luck, he couldn't read any boom tube tech signatures from where they resided. Somehow, someway, they were going to have to knock this thing on it's a**. "You ain't gotta tell me twice."

It's mighty roar caused Cyborg to shoot thick cables that dug into the ground and kept him anchored toward to it while the beast vigorously flapped it's wings. Any closer and Vic would be burning alive in the fire behind him. Taking his free hand, it morphed into a bright blue energy cannon and when things came to a settling halt while the beast readied another attack, Cyborg fired his arm cannon with a continuous wave of bright blue energy flying straight for the dragons torso.

Superman & Robin

"Jump." Superman said, and Robin did, extending his dark cape to glide back to the floor.

Superman could now focus on the beast without worrying about Robin. His expression hardened, drawing his fists forward for more speed as he barreled right towards the enemy. Fighting against it's tremendous gale, he took in another deep breath and exhaled a great showing of his super-breath. This time, freezing the dragon's head and before it could reheat, he'd snatch it's head right off it's shoulders. The rest of the dragon immediately fell. Superman tossed the head aside. Then used his super-breath again to fan away the flames.

Robin gently landed, and saw Superman make short work of the dragon. A feat Robin realized he could've taken the moment they were 'trapped' inside with it. Only question remained: why did he hold back in the first place? Robin kept his eyes locked on Superman who discarded the head with ease. His nose twitched at the Man of Steel's strength.

Superman looked at everyone to make sure they were alright. He was about to ask when his ears picked up a cry for help. He glanced upward, using his X-ray vision to see past the structure they currently stood. "She's up there. Let's go." he informed everyone else after having finished using his heat vision to create a pathway.

Robin saddled up again on the back of Superman. It was embarrassing and he'd rather much use his grappling gun as a means to get to and from rather than be chauffeured around by the Boy Scout like a helpless toddler. He also wondered if his Father was up there as well. Unlikely he noted however. Superman would've made reference of such if he were. A growl wanted to escape him but he said nothing.

Superman flew up to where Raven was being kept and hovered with Robin still on his back. Robin jumped down, and ran over to Raven. "Wake up, Raven. It's Robin. We need to get you out of here so we can stop Trigon." Robin asked. "Allow me," Superman intervened as he broke off the simmering shackles freeing Raven and any others that remained. He would carry her if needed. She had been through enough.

Watching Superman take on and fell the beast, with his super breath, freezing the monstrosity in place only to remove the beast's head seconds later. Causing Wonder Woman to halt her charge as she came to slide across the surface of the battlefield. Slipping her shield along her back as she turned back towards the others. She was about to say something, when Superman beat her to the punch. Once the battle had finished, Diana had picked up on a weakened voice calling for help. The voice echoed off in the distance, which caused her to pause slightly. Was this a legitimate call for aide or was this a ruse by the demon guarding this place? Her questions appeared to be answered as she watched along with everyone else, Superman cut a pathway leading up to where the captive was located.

User Image

Seeing Superman depart the scene in haste with Robin in tow, she traded a glance over towards Cyborg and Jason Blood then back up at the ceiling. She thought about voicing her thoughts, but held back with much reluctance. Diana knew that Cyborg would more than likely fly up through the pathway with little to no assistance. However, she did not know the full extent of Jason Blood's powers. Walking over to where Jason stood, she extended out her hand for him to take. Once their hands connected, Wonder Woman drew Jason closer to her body as she lifted the two of them up off the ground in flight up towards the opening Superman had provided for the lot of them to travel through. Upon their arrival and being mindful to be gentle in her landing, she turned in time to see Superman burning the shackles free away from Raven as well as any other captors present. Releasing her hold upon Jason, she soon reached down to a pouch located along her belt, removed the lighter that John Constantine had given her earlier before they fought the fire blazen beast. "I don't know the importance behind this object, Mr. Blood, although Mr. Constantine exclaimed that you would know how to use this." Handing the lighter over towards Jason Blood as she heard the commotion of Superman offering to carry Raven in her weakened condition. "He may of thought I wasn't paying full attention to him at the time. He threw some sort of white substance into the flame, it didn't seem to do anything but then suddenly the flame itself shifted as if it was pointing towards some direction." She had never witnessed that kind of magic before, she had thought it was some sort of a trick but was uncertain.

One thing after another was presenting itself before the entire team. If he could, Kyle would definitely throw the proverbial Helen of Troy before the fires in hopes it would satiate Ares’s warring appetite amid a prosperous city. That was a little mythical Greek Lesson here, not pertaining to the fact that these figures were actually roaming around. Kyle would have thrown Sebastian into the fire if it meant saving the world without hesitation to save the city and world, in short.

That wasn’t the case. After the others successfully defended themselves off from what the tower had to offer, everyone’s favorite Uncle Tom has appeared. Doctor Fate and like always, boy was the man swayed by whatever cosmic d**k slapped its way to his mouth. Maybe Roy was rubbing off on him than he liked to realize and speaking of which, the crimson archer was already beginning to make moves the moment the assault from Doctor Fate arised. Well, Kyle had a job to do and that came in two: Defend everyone and let this male take his frustrations out on someone.

He thought it and so it came to be. Energy spurred forth from his ring and instantly around everyone came a dome to shield them from Fate’s spontaneous lightning or whatever it was. Kyle was far the man to ever just play the defense role however and boy would Doctor Fate have activated his Trap Card. As quick as the barrier formed, spikes that launched off like trajectories cape hurtling towards Doctor Fate. Once Kyle was certain the coast was clear from the magical man’s own would be attack, Roy was launched out, the archer using his agility and reflexes to gracefully spin in the air as he fired several arrows down, two sonic arrows, two explosive and one that was meant for just the occasion as now: The Nth Arrow. It was the the pure intent to strike the figure through the chest if he could. The other four were clearly the distraction meant to make him choose a “safe” location.

Once Zatana was up to their level, Doctor Fate made himself known. The sound of the two voices did not register as wrong in d**k's mind until he spoke about impeding the will of Trigon.Alright. Let's knock that helmet off. He thought to himself before a green barrier appeared to protect him from a bolt of seemingly explosive magic. Nightwing nodded to the lantern and then fired his grappling gun up onto one of the rafters of the Tower in order to get a better view from above Doctor Fate. d**k knew that he stood little chance against someone like Fate in a close quarters fight and experience had taught him not to test the theory. Instead he would do what Bruce had taught him and he would use his greatest asset, his mind. Well in d**k's case his body may have actually been his greater asset but he was still really good. Batman replacement kind of good- not that he'd ever want to. Along his way up he had flung a couple of electrified wingdings at Doctor Fate to help Roy distract him but now that he'd reached a hiding spot he waited for a chance to try and pull the helmet off. He considered grappling it with his gun but was rather certain it would not be that easy. But d**k figured it was better to try and fail than to not try at all so he fired his grappling gun at the Helmet of Fate.

Tower of Fate

Blood was in a trance-like state as he concentrated on the ritual. Fate has been possessed by Trigon, and the rest of the pitiful band of heroes had been fending off against him. However, things were growing dire. They could not hold off Fate for long. Blood needed the witches assistance, but yet she had not listened to him. ❝Foolish witch!❞ He was gurgling on the raw magical energy he had been gathering. His eyes shot open as he raised a clawed gauntlet to his right. An eldritch beam of vile energy shot from his hand and wrapped itself around Zatanna. As the magical energy from her began to flow into Blood, more and more magical energy was being poured into the ritual. The possessed Fate had taken notice and was soon to attack Blood, but it was too late. Gathering all the energy he had concentrated on amassing and from what he had drained from Zatanna, a sphere of pure energy was contained within both of his hands. His arms jerked as he tried to contain as much as possible within it, but when it became apparent he could hold it no longer, it exploded. The Tower of Fate had utterly torn asunder. Trigons anchor to the world was shattered, with the great demon sent back to his own realm. Blood The Traitor was also Blood The Savior.

Superman & Robin

The war raged on between good and evil once Constantine surprisingly returned with a portal that lead the remaining heroes back to Earth and out of Hell. The combined efforts of the Justice League and Titans seemed to do little to overwhelm Trigon. Even with powerhouses like Wonder Woman and Superman taking him head on. Superman knew at the end of this fight it wouldn't be considered a win. At least not to anyone who had been close to Bat--Bruce. The souls of Trigon's victims may have been returned but he was still gone. Superman used his hands to push himself up and dust off the debris. The last thing he remembered was a blinding light as they gave their best effort in attempt to stop Trigon's tyranny. Piercing blue eyes looked to what was once Titans Tower which was now a tower no more. It was replaced by a bitter vivid memory that would live with all of them for the rest of their days. As tired, beaten, and battered as he was however, Superman still knew there was much work to be done before they could go home. The first was seeing to that this city was repaired and it's people got the necessary medical assistance. The second was seeing Brother Blood brought to justice for his crimes. But as he scanned the area there was no sign of him. It burned him up inside but there was nothing he could do about it now. All he could do was help the others.

He moved debris out of his way in search for others who may have been trampled by the sudden explosion. He hoped there were no more deaths. Enough lives had already been lost even if it was only one. One was more than enough as is. "Everyone alright?" Clark asked aloud, scanning with his x-ray vision for Robin particular who struggled out of some nearby debris coughing. It made Clark smile to see him well. He knew the boy would be scarred after this day.
