Dior had been looking forward to this day from the moment she saw the flyer advertising something straight out of a history book. She had begged Rowan to get her something fitting for the occasion and the witch had not disappointed. Dior’s clothes all had to be modified in one way or another and sewing a few pieces together for Dior’s small frame was no trouble at all.
The costume today was a blue boat neck top with long wide sleeves. Below her short waist was flowy fabric to cover her ribbon but the thinness of it didn’t do anything to hide it. On her neck were many hoops and on her arms there settled even more bracelets. Dior didn’t care that the sleeves hid them she liked her bling. On her head sat a small tiara and Rowan had spent most of the morning styling half her hair up.
Rowan’s dress on the other hand was much simpler but a rich deep green color. She had styled her hair up as well and fastened a copper headpiece to hold it all together. The witch had tied her money pouch to her waist and kept her favorite fan in her hands so as to not misplace it.
The trumpets blared signalling the start of the festival and Dior couldn’t help but squeal with excitement. The gates opened and the people flooded towards the stalls.
This was very much holding up to her expectations. There were even people on stilts and the young girl had to crane her head to get a proper look. Suddenly she felt the familiar tingling in her antennas and they perked right up.
The sensation was over nearly the instant she was aware of it and she turned them this way and that trying to catch the signal again. There was gold nearby. The good quality kind, but she couldn’t quite pinpoint the source.
“Look Dior,” Rowan nudged her shoulder to get her attention and pointed at sign that said Firebreathers. “Is that something you want to see?” she inquired.
The girl nodded her head enthusiastically, the matter of the gold on hold for now. She skimmed through the description and mumbled something. “It says they’re part dragon. Isn’t that dangerous?” she asked skeptically. She couldn’t imagine how they could fit a whole dragon in the place nonetheless a whole group of them.
“I suppose we’ll have to go to find out! I grabbed this at the entrance take a look. I’m rather looking forward to the shows. I know a few friends here,” Rowan handed the itinerary over. Dior looked at it and gasped.
“Snake charmer!” Of course.
