- ▲ Who she is and how she came to be.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
- Personality One look at Reina is enough to make most men and even some women nervous. She's tall, has dark naturally tan skin. She carries herself in a manner that suggests she's not one to be messed with. Lest you want to lose an appendage. The truth of it is, you're close. Reina is your basic loner, she prefers to drink alone, sleep alone, live alone, and work alone. It's how she's become known to the other officers and detectives at her station as a lone wolf. This being said, she's not an angry person, so no, you don't need to fear talking to her. She's actually pretty nice, and extremely understanding. She listens, then offers advice if she has any. She's not one to use brute force on the job. Frankly she'd prefer to never use force, or worst case scenario, her gun. She can be serious, but only when it's called for as a means to her job. She's on the right side of the law and tends to get serious about apprehending ne'er-do-wells. She's ever the 'good cop' even in a bad situation. She can often spot bullshit a mile away, but apart of her always wants to give the benefit of the doubt. If she can't see the good in you, then there is no doubt you're a lost cause. This won't stop her from trying however. Call her naive or just plain stupid, she doesn't care.
But then, there is another side to Reina, one that she doesn't show unless she's at a specific place. The warm smile and welcoming aura when she's at the pastry shop. she's friendly and kind, and known as 'A ray of sunshine' to the usual's. She's more talkative, and less scary to approach. It's like night and day honestly. But one thing for sure is that Reina is 1oo% authentic. She doesn't lie or fake anything. If you asked her for her opinion she'll offer it. Mind you, in some circumstances she will offer a small white lie, if a case sensitive subject comes up, like children asking about the birds and the bees, basic parent stuff. It's happened. Whatever the case, you can always rely on Reina. Whether to solve a crime or make the poffins of your dreams, she'll be there.
- Biography Reina's personality comes from her origin. Abandoned as a child, about 3 years old, in a Egyptian tomb. She was found by a small group of archeologists less than a day later, so the one whom left here there had to of known of the archeologists arrival, surely. Either way all she could remember at that time was riding on the back of a Rapidash with a cloaked figure. The person, with a soft, feminine voice sung her to sleep and when she woke she was surrounded by strange people who talked funny.
She later found out through some translation that these people were a young couple who'd taken up Archeology as a profession. However her time with them seemed to end short when the young Reina was taken in by the Egyptian government, later placed into an orphanage for what would likely of been the rest of her life. Her miserable week in the hot, cruel care of a drunkard ended when the young archeologist couple returned and adopted Reina. They gave her her name, and took her across the country on a plane to a place called Kalos. It was here she grew up. For the first several years, her parents only took local jobs, looking into ruins around Kalos, occasionally taking her with if it was summer and school was out. She loved it, being able to travel, but lingering thoughts of her future were always on her mind, along with her past.
Fast forward to senior year, just a few weeks before graduation, the prospect of college was fresh in her mind. While many of the friends she'd made had long since left Lumiose City to start a Pokemon Journey, Reina hadn't. She'd done tons of traveling, and it just hadn't seemed all that interesting to her. Actually, her interest rested in law and order, much to her parent's displeasure. Still, they were supportive as always and made nary a fuss when she told them she was opting to not go to college and instead entered into the Police Academy. Crime in Kalos, specifically Lumiose is always abundant, so more police were always welcome. Reina had always been a stronger woman, born with the look of intimidation even as a child. She fit in rather snug with the force. It wasn't long before she was held in high regard.
Reina would disagree with being called the 'best cop' or any such way of flattery. She did her job, that was it. But somehow, she just did her job better than most. She wasn't the best by any means. She was above average, even still. She managed to get promotions where others who she thought were more fitting didn't. It wasn't only her intimidating appearance that kept her from making any strong friendships with any of the other officers. In fact, many dreaded working with her, even though she was a good cop. In the end, she was promoted to Inspector and she officially was able to work alone. Still this ended up being the worst period of her life. Without anyone to work with, she could feel all the negativity breathing down her neck, and finally she couldn't take it anymore. She left the precinct and started up her own Private Investigation practice.
At first, starting up her own practice was hard. It wasn't easy getting any clients, so she grew even more depressed. However, as fate would have it.. her second love in this world came to be. Reina had taken to traveling around Lumiose in search of something do, picking up odd jobs because she was... rather ashamed at the thought of asking her parents for money, but then one day she came across a dinky little pastry shop in a cramped alleyway in south Lumiose City. Their previous baker had quit, leaving the wife, and co-owner of the business to bake, which left them without a waitress. Reina took the job. It took awhile for her to get used to the job, but the customers were really kind and helped her through it. Like a tight knit family. Through word of mouth, word spread across Lumiose about Reina's practice and she eventually started picking up clients through the customers at the bakery.
Now Thirty-one with a booming business (Not entirely a good thing), and a wonderful group of friends, Reina has found her life... plain. She doesn't mind it, but if isn't her mother or father asking if she's happy all the time, it's the couple of the bakery. She tells both of them she is, but apart of her does feel it's been missing. It was then her secretary and most trusted friend suggested traveling again, outside of Kalos. While Reina was reluctant at first, everyone assured her she should take a vacation. Everyone was entitled to a vacation every now and then... and Reina's was nearly twelve years in the making. She admitted she'd always wanted to visit America, and in turn Unova, so... After much procrastination she was forced on a plane to the region of Unova.
