It was one of those days where the valkyr, Bay sat on the beach of the Pae'kippu, near the Waplei delta, armed with his hand-make fishing rod that had a spool of thread with a hook, and a freshly caught worm that he had dug up on his walk from his little hut not far off. His long brown hair was pulled back and then braided, though wisps of it still spring out when exposed to humidity that is in the air near the water. To shade himself from the sun above, his wings were lifted slightly to provide some much needed shade while he waited in the quietness of the area, enjoying the much-needed solitude.

As a loner, Bay prefer to remain afar from the population of the other fauns, same goes for the naiads. What he caught when fishing near the Waplei delta will be either smoked, or fried, even baked over a covered fire-pit in his hut, served up with whatever vegetation he can scout for when if the fishing didn't consume his day to day life. Fresh water fish is the best, in his opinion, and he usually just catch one or two before moving on to do chores the remaining part of his day, if so. The valkyr yawned, as the sun's position in the sky indicate a mid-afternoon. The fish must not be biting today, he muttered quietly to himself as he shifted his hooves, absently digging them into the warm sand to keep them warm from the cool night that is descending in a matter of hours.

Peace and quiet... all his mind was set on. Little did he knew that soon enough, he'll have company and that is something he hadn't had in quite a while.

Today was like any other day. Unremarkable in fact. But today she had the urge to go out. Her family was...huge to say the least. With her granddad, mother, two tiki cats and now her grandpa's girlfriend all living under one roof, it was quickly becoming suffocating every day. No matter how much harmony the goddess brought. So she often slipped away to escape the noise.

Today she picked pae'kippu beach. Cha'en was the more logical choice as it was closer, but she'd probably run into multiple pae who knew her too. Pae'kippu, no one would know her.

She had just crossed the little bridge that spanned over Waplei and had been walking to the beach when she caught a figure by the waters. Not terribly unusual as it was a popular beach. But it was a pae type she hadn't seen before. A faun? This far from the Tree? And he had great big wings! She didn't know fauns could fly. Lorelei felt her feet start to guide her towards him despite her typical shy demeanor. She was told her grandmother was an adventurer, and often contributed her streak of curiosity to her. "Ah, um. Hello?" The angel softly called out as she tucked a piece of hair behind an ear.

Bay yawned, stretching out his upper body to relieve himself of some tension that he had carried frequently in his back by sitting like this for a long period of time. Peace and quiet is what he wanted most days, and within this little spot, which was primed for good-eating fresh water fish, he usually get it. On this day, however, at this hour, it seems a being came calling and it was someone he did not expect to see at all. A girl! The young male peeked through his feathers to see who was speaking. He then looked around, but there was nobody else she was addressing. Maybe she was crazy, speaking to the plants or something? But apparently, she was heading his way, and it was to him she was speaking.

He peeked, once again, through the feathers to get a better look at her. Her unique coloring, which seemed from far away all one color, but the closer she got, she resembled the night sky with all its glittering diamonds. His melting chocolate colored eyes widened, spreading the feathers a bit more. "Um... yes?" he squeaked. Squeaked? He squeaked? What the heck?!

He seemed almost startled to see her! Oh dear, she hoped she wasn't being a bother. The angel resumed playing with the same strand of hair she had tucked behind her ear, gently running it through her fingers.

Poor guy was so uncomfortable he squeaked! She was just awful. Her face warmed. "Oh! Sorry. Sorry to interrupt you. I just...haven't seen you before. Or any pae like you around here." She vaguely knew that angels and demons were at odds with the faun. She wasn't supposed to really interact with them. But her grandfather loved all pae of all types, and so her household didn't hold any stereotypes or prejudices. It was more just a fascination with something she didn't know.

"Can you fly?" With such large wings, she imagined so. They looked so similar in type to her own, but of a soft, pleasant pink.

"Can I whut?" Bay asked, stammering as he settled his wings down, though they were bigger than him and proved to be such a difficult thing to do immediately. "I... yes, but not far up," he confessed. "I doubt there any like me. I never seen one. I yet to see one like you either," the valkyr murmured, eyeing the young lady. The pink & brown vaklkr pae stuck his pole into the sand deeply before getting up, brushing the substance off his bottom before looking to Lorelei. "Bay," he said, giving a blink. "You? I never see you around here. I don't see much here." The male stretched and watched the opposite female, wondering what she is up to and why she is so far from populated areas where the others of her own kind would be at the moment.

That made sense, for there to not be any like him. She was pretty sure after all that faun didn't fly.

Not that she particularly knew any faun to base that off of.

"You haven't seen an angel before?" She spoke as he began to move. Her eyes widened when he stood up. The male was shorter than the average demon or angel, but was sturdily built. His massive wings added to his overall mass. He could probably break her like a twig. Was this what faun were like, or just him?

"Lorelei." It was her turn to squeak, her hands freezing on her hair. "I...um. Cha'en is so crowded. I don't like crowds. So I thought I'd have better luck out here."

Her gaze flicked to him, to his pole in the sand, then back to him. Her body relaxed a little as a thought came to mind. "How are they biting today?" She often visited her family in Star Grove, which was both a Mill and a seller of fish. She hadn't met a mean fisher yet.

Bay blinked, cocking his head to the side. "Not looking like you, no," he shook his head vehemently as he looked back to his fishing pole. "Not much today; but looks like one now," the male said, moving over to his pole and pulled it out of the ground, testing the line see if there is any pull. "Just might be luck," the valkyr mentioned, pulling on the line, seeing a bit of splashing. "Look like big one!" he gaped, pulling it in, grimacing. "Big sucker! Grab the netting! There! Pulling it in!"

Not like her? Was she weird looking? Oh no.

Her attention snapped back into focus as he turned to his straining pole. He got a fish! Right when they were talking! The angel quickly moved towards the net on the ground. She wasn't entirely sure what to do - she lived near fishermen she wasn't one herself. But she had seen pae catch a fish before, and held the net at the ready.

As Bay pulled the fish inwards, she held the net out, ready to catch it. POP! Out of the water, wiggling in all its shiny glory. When it swung towards her, she lunged with the net. Unfortunately she didn't really account for how much swing there was.

Swinging the fish right into her face, before falling into the net.

"AH!!" The female stumbled back, but closed the top of the net to seal in the fish.

"........Talk about a fish lips."

Bay just couldn't help laughing at the situation that it happened with the fish. It was hard not to, given that the fish made it a mission to cause them much havoc as possible, even to the point of unceremoniously giving the pretty female a 'kiss' in form of a hit. He looked at the female, and cocked his head. "Are you ok? Fish are slimy," he chortled, looking rather surprised he did so. "It's a biggun'," he muses, peering into the net. He could smoke the fish, get more days out of its succulent meat. But this lady had helped him net the fish that would otherwise been happily swimming back to its little home with his hook.

"Do you like fish?" the valkyr asked, giving a blink."You did help me grab a fish.Only nice to repay favorite. Make you fish dinner," the male said, his wings fluffing up a bit as he smiled.

It wasn't long til his laughter pulled her out of her surprise, bringing her own laugh into the mix. It was rather funny. "I-I'm okay." She spoke in between giggles before rubbing her face against her shoulder to wipe off the moisture. Her hands were busy holding onto the net as the fish flipped about.

"Me? I do, but not to kiss." More giggles as she looked from her catch up to Bay.

Did he really just offer to make her dinner?

She felt her cheeks redden at the thought. On one hand, there was that saying about talking to strangers. On the other, mom taught her not to be rude. The angel slowly smiled, ducking her head slightly as her hair fell around her face. "That would be nice, thank you. It's poetic after all, to eat the fish that smacks you."

Bay raised both eyebrows. "I hope you don't... kiss fish. Kind of...nasty tasting," he admitted, shuffling his hooves in the sand. "Here... let me grab that for you," the valkyr said, moving over to Lorelei to take possession of the net. "He is heavy, isn't he? 'Specially flipping about like that. He not going quietly. That's ok, He'll make a good fried dinner after being scaled and cut open," he admitted, looking at Lorelei and the short distance that became even shorter between them. "Um... that is if you want to come. I just live up the beach, hut. Nothin' fancy."

She had meant it as a joke, but he took it as literal! She blushed even hotter in embarrassment as she handed over the net. "Y-yes. You're a good - I mean he's a good catch." The words had gotten crossed with calling him a good a fisherman, and saying it was a good catch. Ah she was so nervous she was getting tongue tied.

"I don't mind. Mom and Grandpa don't expect me back home 'til late anyway." As she had a bit of habit of wandering and getting a little lost they knew to not start worrying until she was missing until the next day.

Bay peered at Lorelei rather closely, giving her a sniff as he held onto the wooden stick portion of the net. "Follow me," he grunted, giving a nod as he turnabout, his large wings sweeping behind him in turn, leaving two lines from each feather in the sand. The Valkyr proceeded up the beach, the sand feeling warm beneath his feet as he does so, the netting firmly held in his hand and the fish they caught? Well, he left that to Lorelei to hold. Though, he was stealing glances at her over his shoulder to see what she was doing. She was a weird-looking one, a female at that too. In the longest time, he hasn't seen anyone rather cross this particular path at this time of day.

As the sand gave way to brightly colored grass and looming trees, the Valkyr gave a happy sigh when he saw his hut coming into view. "Home," he mumbled, giving a nod as he looked to the opposite female once more and gave a nod as he unlocked the door to the hut and held it open for her. "Come," the male said, giving a blink.

The interior was not all that appealing to look at. A bed, a table with mismatched chairs that has a rolled-up cloth with what seems like a collection of knives, some shelvings with odd-looking books that seemed to be secondhanded and picked up from somewhere else. The center of the home seems to be the big fireplace with a stick in the middle with a dangling tea kettle hanging from it.
