Since this is a Haunted hotel, you have the option to be human, or something occult or undead. Here is a list of Races that you can be if you choose.
Common Races
Non-Occult fantasy Races
Hybrids
**If you need me to add more races (that follow the occult/undead theme) just ask!**
Common Races
Human: The most common race.
They do not possess magic, but they are very versatile and adaptable.
Necromancer: A human who gains dark magical power through mysterious means,
often being cursed by their own magic or making a deal with a dark being to get such magic.
Witch/Wizard: Humans that were born with magical powers.
Ghost: The most common undead that haunt the hotel.
They are the spirts of dead people with unfinished business.
They can morph through walls and are tangible beings.
Depending on the ghost, however, they can become intangible.
Banshee: A type of ghost (usually female) that can shatter the minds of people with a powerful scream.
Her scream is usually said to forecast deaths,
or kill the person closest to the scream.
Zombies: Less common than ghosts,
they are found in the underground levels of the hotel.
Most aren't very intelligent,
but there are a rare few that maintain their human sentience/state of mind from their previous lives.
They have a high constitution and can "rise again" at least once after death.
Lich: Often such a creature is the result of a transformation,
as a powerful magician skilled in necromancy striving for eternal life using spells or rituals to bind his intellect and soul to achieve a form of immortality.
Liches are depicted as being clearly cadaverous, bodies desiccated or completely skeletal.
Liches are often depicted as holding power over hordes of lesser undead creatures, using them as soldiers and servants.
Unlike zombies, which are often depicted as mindless,
a lich retains independent thought and is usually at least as intelligent as it was prior to its transformation.
Vampires:
They rely on life essence from other beings (usually blood) in order to survive.
Without it, they will descend into madness. They are weak to silver and sunlight, as well as wooden stakes to the heart. Most have pale skin, dark hair, brightly colored eyes, and poisonous fangs.
Werewolves:
A human with the ability to shapeshift into a wolf, either purposely or after
being placed under a curse or affliction (often a bite or scratch from another
werewolf).
While they can shift almost at will, they will transform uncontrollably under the
light of a full moon. While transformed this way, their memory will be clouded
and they will act upon pure instinct. To distinguish them from half-werewolves,
their forms will look very wolf-like. (Example)
Demons: Occult beings that maintain the underworld/hell.
They can manipulate fire.
Other types of demons are Succubus or an Incubus that rely on lust.
They are fairly uncommon to the hotel, but not unheard of.

Non-Occult fantasy Races
Note: As of 4/7/18, these races have been added, but are extremely rare!
Elves: Once a high-ranking and prosperous race, elves used to roam the world outside of Glenvale thousands of years ago.
It is said that the elves' mysterious subraces according to legend may have been responsible for the town's landscape and somewhat supernatural nature today.
Today, finding an Elf would be extremely rare, as they were 'almost' extinct long before the town was built.
However, some humans may have descended from Elves to create today's witches, wizards, and even necromancers.
(This involves all subraces of elves including but not limited to Dark Elves, High Elves, etc.)
Note: Hybrids involving elves are just as rare if not rarer.
Note: An elf lives to be approx. 750, but they can live well beyond that.
To calculate their age- For example, Let's say you want them to be 30.
Calculate 30% of 750 and you get 225.
Celestials:
Celestials are a light-wielding and holy race that includes angels, aasimars, and anyone who is or had descended from some sort of holy being that wields light.
Often mistaken for witches or wizards, they have an array of features and are often taller and strikingly prettier than your average human.
Most also sport feathered wings or halos, but they have the ability to hide them from others, taking a more human form to hide their identities.
Extremely rare, they often come to the aid of others in dire circumstances. (When making a Celestial, please name what type/variant of Celestial your character is. Also, Hybrids of this race are even rarer.)
Sirens:
Similar to mermaids, Sirens often appear human but they have the ability to possess a tail and fins when in water.
These sirens long ago used their voices to lure sailors and cause shipwrecks.
Most sirens are female, but male sirens do exist and will usually look more feminine.
It is not unheard of for some sirens to have bird-like features instead of fish-like features.
Note: The offspring of a siren and another race will result in another siren.
However, said offspring will have resemblance from the non-siren parent (ex. the non-siren's hair/eye/skin color)
Robots: A new venue has opened in Glenvale with state-of-the-art technology.
At this venue, AIs work and perform there all the time, and they often look strikingly human.
However, all Robots/AIs are operated with a power core than can be meddled with by occult beings and other forces that curse the town.

Hybrids
When it comes to hybrids, most are the spawn of a human crossing with another race. Zombies, Liches, Ghosts, and Banshees cannot breed! (Not to mention how weird that would be).
Cambion: Cambions are Half-Demons (often the result of a Succubus or Incubus having an offspring with a human)
that are born human, but they have no pulse or breath.
They continue to appear human until about the age of seven years at which time they show their demon truth.
Half-Witch: Half witches are the result of a witch and a human having an offspring.
Their power will be half of that of a witch.
Half-Necromancer: Half necromancers are the result of a Necromancer and a human having an offspring.
They will carry on the curse of their parent if their parent's curse/pact has not been broken.
On top of this, they only maintain half the power of their parents.
Half-Vampire: Half-Vampires are the result of a Vampire and a human having an offspring.
Very rare, they burn easily, yet they usually have a more human appearance than a vampire (lighter hair, smaller fangs).
However, they still rely on the life essence of other beings (just not as much).
Half-Werewolf: Half-werewolves are likely the result of a werewolf and a human offspring.
They have the ability to morph between a Human and wolf-like form at will. And even in between! (Often looking similar to a Kitsune, but more wolf-like)
However they will still possess some human traits in their full-wolf form. (Example).
During a full-moon, they will be transformed into their wolf forms and stay that
way until the sun rises. In their forms, they retain most memories and
intelligence that they had in their human form, but will act instinctively (Often
hunting for their loved ones, etc.)
Half-Elves: To humans, half-elves look like elves, and to elves, they look
human. In height, they’re on par with both parents, though they’re neither as
slender as elves nor as broad as humans. Half-elven coloration and features
lie somewhere between their human and elf parents, and thus show a variety
even more pronounced than that found among either race. They tend to have
the eyes of their elven parents. (This hybrid is rare, but still possible.)
Half-Celestials: Also known as Nephilims, they are a result of angels or
another divine being having an offspring with a human. They possess one or
two features of their divine parent, but appear mostly human with flattering
features. (This hybrid is rare, but still possible)
Nephalem: Also known as "Forbidden", they are the most conflicted
creatures on the planet. A hybrid between a demon and a divine race,
Nephalems are often disfigured in someway or downright insane due to their
conflicting heritage. Not to be confused with Nephilims. (This hybrid is
VERY rare, and I would prefer not to have too many of these roaming around)
Examples of Nephalem disfigurement:
Note: If you are trying to make a hybrid that is a Half Necromancer/Vampire for example,
that will work.
Just be mindful of the story and how it will play out.
Note (As of 3/31/18 ):While some hybrids that are the offspring of 2 occult races do exist,
some will act more sane than others.
The result of a Vampire/Demon, Werewolf/Demon, or a Vampire/Werewolf would be cool,
but the perks and curses that come with it may be a lot for one mind to handle.
Not saying they'd be completely insane, but they may or may not have a screw loose sweatdrop .

Examples of Nephalem disfigurement:
Basically, due to both angelic and demonic heritages, one of these things can happen:
Note: In most cases a Nephalem will have one of each (good and bad) to balance them out.
Bad:
- They could smell of brimstone or sulfur
- The character could be sickening, yet NOT horrifying in appearance
- They could be hard of hearing, nearsighted, completely blind, etc.
- They could be Frail (Weak bones, cannot be used with being tough)
- The could have a Weak willpower (a.k.a. they are suggestible)
- They could have a mentality that is affected by the changing moon phases.
- Their flesh will not heal as quickly over time. (Takes twice as long as a human's)
Good:
- The character, for unknown reasons, could be extraordinarily lucky.
- They might have Extremely high charisma
- They might have claws they can use to attack
- The character could have Dual wings (One demon wing and one angelic wing)
- They might have lightning reflexes
- They might be extremely tough (opposite of being frail, cannot be used with it)
- They might be able to see in full darkness, even being able to see colors in pitch black
