With so many black markets and shops around the zones, there are many contraband items in the hands of students and individuals. Such items are as follows: oculus headgear (a piece of equipment for amplifying eyesight, two red dots react with the synapsis of the eyes, and they are connected to a slim black band that caresses the back of the head), certain heavy metaled armor and weapons, fission bikes, particle leaking hoverboards, and most importantly any type of rune trading. If anyone is caught with such things on their person, a number of judgements will be passed.
Inside the Capital is practically no contest unless one is a Shifter. Execution is the first judgement, unless their master chooses expulsion. The Shifter will be exiled from the Capital to fend for themselves outside of the safety of the walls. If the Shifter goes against their master's mercy and enters the city, or is anywhere near the walls again, they will be executed.
If one was found by soldiers inside of the green zones, or especially in the yellow, execution by their hand is the only judgement passed. It is widely known by those in these zones that the soldiers will pick their corpse clean without repercussions, which excellerates animosity between these two. There is no other way around this, however, so one must be very careful to bribe soldiers heavily- which is almost impossible- or hide their belongings upon every visit.
The academy is very strict on rules, though they are rarely ones inside the gates that care to follow them closely. However, if a student flaunts their contraband items, then the punishment is immediate expulsion. Teachers and other members inside of the academy have a "look the other way" policy, and so for this to happen the one wielding the contraband has to be very ignorant when using or procuring it.
