I've been thinking about this ever since I first saw Queer as Folk (great show). How do you guys feel about age gaps in intimate relationships (that are legal obviously).

They know what they like and have experience unlike guys around my age (at least in my experience) that are always nervous or unsure

In my preferences, I usually like them younger than me. Seeing as I'm 23 but still look like I'm 18 or 19, i usually attract a younger crowd anyways.

Nohrian Scum I've been thinking about this ever since I first saw Queer as Folk (great show). How do you guys feel about age gaps in intimate relationships (that are legal obviously). Rule of thumb for dating someone younger than you is to half your age and then add seven. That is said to be the minimum age you can date without it being creepy. For instance, I'm 29 so if I were single the minimum age I could date without it being creepy would be 21. Of course, this isn't an absolute rule or anything, just something I've heard of. Personally, I never went further than + or - 5 years of age from my own. I found past that I'd have nothing in common with the guys. Younger than that then they were too bratty or immature. Older than that and they saw me as too immature, lol. The oldest guy I dated was eight years my senior, and he's the reason I came up with my own personal age rule. He'd constantly look down on me for my anime and video game obsession. It's all irrelevant now because I'm married and he's only three years younger than me. 3nodding Strangely enough, my uncle is 34 dating a woman that's 22. I just find it super awkward and a little bit icky because she's almost the youngest person in our family, aside from my brother who's 18. Even worse, his girlfriend is almost 21 so she's almost the same age as my uncle's girlfriend. I can't seem to get over it, but maybe once I meet her and stuff I will. Still, there is kind of that ick factor there, lol.

When I was searching for a partner, age wasn't something that I particularly took into account too heavily. I just tried to find people to hang out with and have sex with that I was attracted to.
It's essential to put yourself out there, and I'm a firm believer in throwing yourself into life experiences with as few preconceived notions as possible. If I hadn't been putting myself out there so aggressively, I may not have met my current fiancee.
But I did sleep with a man my up to 40 years my senior. Among oMther men who were a lot older-- but none that I had an intention to date. I'm 30, and my fiancee is 28, and I like the closeness in age because we relate well, and he's someone who's integrated into my family well.
A man 40 years my senior would never have integrated into my family, and that's essentially a deal breaker. It'd be toats awkward. Wouldn't be for me, ever, but would never judge anyone else's consensual life choices,

I usually find myself more into guys my age or older (30 here) but I mean I could see talking to a guy a little younger. I don't know.

See my current boyfriend is only a few years older than me, I'm 25 and i think i've collectively have had more fun dating guys older than me oldest being like 40 something, the youngest ive dated was 18. I think older guys just are more sure of themselves and what they want.
