Name: Ophelia Yen Tran
Age: 23
Sex: Female
Weapons: Spear, Kitchen knife (2), Hunting knife
Bio: Multi-racial America is small, and growing up a Vietnamese-Mexican-Irish little girl wasn't easy. Heavily Catholic relatives, high expectations from immigrant grandparents, and financial struggle with non-white parents who wanted the world for their children. Ophelia was lucky to have an older brother to help her when she struggled the most. She and her brother both grew an interest in their Vietnamese father and Mexican uncle's careers in robotics and engineering respectively. They grew up learning the rough and dirty work of mechanics first, building their own go-karts for local competitions and street races. Ophelia's brother Benny had always been the more talented one, but both excelled enough in the job to consider STEM careers in the future.
Being a non-traditional woman in both the Mexican and Vietnamese perspective, however, had its difficulties. Ophelia's practice of self-defense and speaking up was unheard of by her more traditionally conservative grandparents. Ophelia got the majority of the familial backlash, enough to the point where she realized coming out to them as pansexual would never happen. Only her closest family is aware of this (parents and brother, that is), as well as the fact that she had a girlfriend named Holly.
Early in their relationship, Ophelia's brother enlisted into the air force to be an engineer. With struggling parents, Benny has been under the impression that signing up for the military would be the easiest option to pay for his schooling. Holly had become Ophelia's new sense of comfort, and together the two dominated their school's robotics team. They both ended up winning scholarships for the STEM industry for college, moving away from the bustling state of California to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. They spent their newfound freedom building their own RV and going on camping road trips, photographing every little moment of their happiness. School was easy for the two prodigies, who wanted to create a business centered around AI robotics and machinery meant to assist the physically disabled. Once they both graduated, however, they decided the best thing to do was taking a country wide tour in their modified RV, circling around and picking up Benny from his final day in the Air Force in Mississippi along the way. Three months in and they managed to make it to Disney World, where Ophelia had proposed to Holly. The two had remained happily engaged, planning to marry in their final destination (their hometown in California with friends and family).
The last thing the two had expected was for a zombie outbreak. Just as in the time before, the two girls clung to each other for strength and support. Th drive was slower, more cautious. However, they had attempted to trust whatever humans came their way. It was unfortunately the cause of Holly's demise. While being part of a group in Louisiana, the leader had attempted to steal their RV. Holly had attempted to protect it with her life, and it ended with her being bled out to death from a gunshot wound while Ophelia was out fishing. When she returned, her RV and supplies were gone, only a zombie of her fiance to show what had occurred. One of the hardest things Ophelia ever had to do was stick a knife through Holly's hollow face as it attempted to consume her. She had been alone since then, taking cars with gas for as long as they could run all the way to where she is now, hoping to eventually reunite with her brother. To this day, she remains wary of trusting others, wearing their rings around her neck as a reminder.
