Nick might not have worried about her face the same way most girls her age did, but turning and ducking away from the shot was an unavoidable reflex. Quite honestly, Zeke wasn't entirely sure who to cheer for in this case. On the one hand, he was Nick's guardian. That responsibility wasn't really much of a challenge, she took care of herself and didn't really need his assistance on any regular bases. He was, as far as the both of them cared, there just in case. It meant they hadn't spent a great deal of time together outside of the infirmary where she still shadowed him through the occasional RE shift. Now Lex he had more of a personal connection to. They talked more often, they saw each other more often. Lex worked in the office with Zeke, doing this and that, and any thing asked of him. Zeke provided moral support, advise, and even a room to sleep in when the hole in Lex's roof needed fixing. So for now, he just stood off the side. There, he supposed, for both of them. It didn't matter to him who won, because either way, it was one of the juniors he supported.

"What the ******** is there to eat in Rome?" A shot in each of Nick's feet, a cocky smirk as he backed away from the axe blade. That spar with Oliver had certainly helped. "Pizza? Lasagna? Calzones? Dude, where's your ******** imagination?" A corn dog. Dear ******** Christ. "Or we could go to some big county fair in some Southern state. They've probably got corn dogs as big as Zeke's head!" "s**t, you've never been to the States?!" Lex was almost aghast, until he realized that he had never been to Canada. "Yeah, we have those! Except probably bigger than what you're used to..." After all, America had to be the BEST. "s**t, if you want the biggest and baddest, we should go to the Texas State Fair or some s**t. I bet they have deep fried EVERYTHING!"
