It had to be Zeke distracting Ever -- making him look back over his shoulder instead of focusing on the game, making him stumble under Melvin's next shot and only half come back into focus to make a half-hearted swing in his direction. He made a pained face, eyebrows knitted seriously. "From you, or from Zeke?" Just one beat though. "What would you want?" HP: 11 Dmg: nil

"It's our fight. Zeke isn't part of this." To which he glanced at Zeke and noticed Nash blowing him a kiss. He grinned back, puffing with confidence.
He tried to think of what he might want from Ever. "For you to make me dinner." He aimed Saliva again.

Breathless and a bit worn out, now was when Ever finally actually landed something good on Melvin: a smack against the back of his legs, while he struggled to keep himself upright, shield gone paper thin. He didn't call uncle. Maybe Ever didn't know how. "Melvin. No one wants that." He pulled a little face as he said it, holding up the second half of his weapon in a weak preparation, as if it could block a gun. "Maybe take you out to dinner." HP: 2 Dmg: 9

"That's not what I said." He said watching him. "I want you to make me dinner." He repeated.
He aimed Saliva again, seeing the staggering weak movements of Ever and knowing it wasn't long before he was done for. He took a small pot shot to see if that would be enough. HP : 33 Dmg: 1

"Minute rice? Hard boiled egg? Or mac'n'cheese?" His tone was teasing, though -- wobbly as he was, he swung again at Melvin and half stumbled into him. The good news was that it was effective. He hit hard. HP: 1 Dmg: 16

Melvin didn't have time tondesummon as Ever hit him and then followed up with his entire body, letting gravity do the work to toss him and Melvin back into the sand. The sudden impact had Saliva misfiring between them before he paniced and desummoned her to grab Ever as they landed. At least the sand was soft and easier to clean off then mud from his previous fight.
Groaning, he patted Ever. "Hey, you okay?" He tried to sit up to check on the other man, reminding himself there were wards. Dmg: 11

"I'm okay." But his shield was gone, and Ever blinked down in surprise at the cigarette holder in his hand. His weapon was long gone, and he hadn't even noticed. He carefully rolled onto his back, looking up at Melvin instead after a long moment. "Good match?"

Nash let out a cheerful whoop at Melvin's victory.
That was about as far as he got in terms of actually yelling anything that wasn't sarcastic encouragement.

He smiled back. "Yeah, it was. So about you making me something to eat?" He asked, slipping his arm under Ever to help prop him up to sitting.
"Want me to walk you to your dorm to rest?" He asked. It would be the second person he took to recover.
Looking out he smiled at Nash, clearly proud of himself.

"Hmm." Ever sat up only because of Melvin's nudging and levering, blinking around them slowly. There was a leaf in his hair, curling slightly under strands of white. He didn't seem to notice. "If you have a congratulation party to get to, I could probably manage on my own..."

"It's a bit early for parties. The tournament is still going." He said, reaching out to pick out the leaf from his hair and toss it aside. "Come on."
He reached under his arm and heaved him up slowly, letting Ever lean his weight against him. His attention was on whether or not Ever could even support his own weight. If not - well he knew potato sack technique from Ever worked.
He tried to move them to the group. "Thanks everyone for showing up. I'm touched. I'm going to take Ever home." He looked to Zeke, Nash, and then glanced at the owl further off which he had noticed during his fighting but said nothing about.

"Sure, then." Ever relaxed into him, raising a hand to wave off toward Zeke and offer a flash of a smile that was, at this point, more tired than anything else. It'd be nice to go back to his rooms and lie down for a bit.

Zeke's lips twitched, but as Melvin and Ever came their way he just smiled easily at the pair, unfolding his arms to return the little wave. "I'll come find you when my match is over." Then, to Melvin. "Congrats on the win. That was pretty impressive." Zeke knew how strong Ever was, and Melvin had made that look easy this time around.
