After joining Xavier Academy at the age of 13, she spent the first year at the school learning more about what it meant to be a mutant along with general education. Her ability to quickly learn with not only her powers but with general knowledge as well caught their attention and she was put into training to become a future X-Men sometime during her second year at the school, when she was 14.
