Bonds- Act I, Verse 1 Thready eventide
A covalent, strong bond feels
as strong as a chainA connection. One to stretch across space. One to be felt by all yet unnoticed by some. Such is the way of the mind. Mortal feelings crave their interaction, their warm embrace. They look for a place to belong, a place to call home. It is the mind that yearns for this feeling, yet feels alone in the darkness. Though not all are keen enough to realize the universal truth. Everything is connected, everything is whole. It takes a certain aptitude to discover this truth, this truth that stretches time and space. One such mind awaits. An own, curious mind yearns
for mental matterIn the quiet of the night, at the height of fear stood. Stood a bird clad in the regalia of a man. Black wings, as if dipped in the ash of an active mountain, draped around it's shoulders as if a cloak, as if a robe. It's breast clad in layered cloth, traditional in colors: red, gold, and white. It's hair, same as a feather, black as the night. Ears to a point, nose curved like a beak. The face of a man. Standing there in the silence of the night it contemplated all that was. A wind, oh the being could be mistaken for it, whipped around in a calm, cool dance. Whistling at itself in a hushed dialogue. Wind displaying universal connection. A bond felt by one such being. A Tengu.Bonds- Act I, Verse 3 Cooling evening
A little, warm wind breathes
creating a bond.Fear brings things together, holding them under one bond. Fear is a feeling that drives the senses, encourages living, discourages weakness. One such fear is the wind, a swirling presence, a dancing breeze, a sharp gale. The wind moved around it, drawn between pressures of high, of low. The back and forth motion, like a sonata's notes, conducted between calming beats. Sometimes the wind was a game for it, moving it with its mind, playing with it. For this creature controlled the wind, no, was the wind. It beckoned it with its will, molded it with it's mind, and drew on it with it's fear. For the wind was an extension, everything was it's domain. To come close would be to face one's fear, to stand against nature. A Tengu.

The Yokai Who Rules Over Lightning

There he was, a being, a existence, a human. No, that wasn't quite right. He was an existence of some sort. But he was not a human. For he was something humans thought only existed as a myth or a legend. This man was without a doubt a Yokai called"Raiju". A Japanese monster who struck fear into the hearts of many. Going off on rampages and running amok. Whipping up dangerous lightning storms and thunderstorms so severe that a high risk for death was apparent. There were so many folk tales of his species of Yokai. No one really knew what to believe.
Raiju was not the type of Raiju to do terrible things or harm humans. He was a pretty laid back guy with a perverted side. Though he had a temper, and if the opportunity presented itself to him. The Raiju would jump into a heated battle without hesitation. The Yokai really enjoyed battle the most out of everything else in life. Other Yokai who didn't enjoy fighting like he did. Saw what he did as senseless violence of a savage. But Raiju never saw it that way. It made him feel alive and like his existence was worth some value.
The Raiju flew through the skies riding on a dark colored thunder cloud. Manipulated with his power over lightning. But not too high that he would feel the chill of upper atomsphere temperatues. Low enough that he could be seen flying over head like a airplane. His eyes were a golden color with piercing glare. While his hair was black and spiky. Looking as wild as it could possibly be. Raiju wore a red and black kimono robe, and matching black pants with black sandals.A male human form with light brown skin maintained by his Yokai Aura. Currently concealed his true form from everyone. There were constant thunderclaps occurring as he moved through the air with a swift pace.
Where he was going he didn't really know. Usually Raiju just roamed around looking for the next worthy opponent. A dry spell had plagued his favorite pass time. It would seem all was lost in terms of worthy opponents. Suddenly the presence of another Yokai entered his radar. His eyes focused on the ground below him. Scanning the area for the Yokai who's aura he sensed. A moment later Raiju's golden eyes locked on their target. To his surprise, it was a powerful Yokai just like him. The Yokai was none other than a Tengu. What was a Tengu doing out in the middle of nowhere though? Wanting to investigate the matter further. Raiju flew on his thunder cloud to the ground. Then upon his will the thunder cloud safely hovered to the ground allowing the Raiju to jump off. Before it disappeared into the wind. The Legendary Thunder Beast confronted the Tengu before him. "Hey you, what are you doing just standing around out here. Shouldn't someone like you be off protecting weaker and less fortunate Yokai?"

Bonds- Act I, Verse 4 Unusual woods
before a green, scared leaves blows
betrayed by the windA yokai. The silence interrupted. Peace askew. A crack of thunder like the roar of a lion, the spark of lightning set ablaze. The the forest was a kind place, dark and eerie, with a touch of mystery. The air bellowed, like a sigh of disappointment. The yokai appeared before it, flamboyant in nature. If they were to converse there was no reason to be forward. It's words danced, like a leaf on the wind. So calm, collected was its presence, the pressure seemingly caused by its grandeur. In one breath came the response, "You yourself, as much as anybody else in the universe, deserve your love and affection." With a pause, the sound of the wind was the only noise to be heard, and with another gasp, "For why I am here, in this very forest? It's a nice place."

The words spoken by the Tengu before him struck Raiju sword through his abdomen."You yourself, as much as anybody else in the universe, deserve your love and affection". The Tengu said to him. Those very words conjured up bad memories Raiju had locked anyway in his subconscious. Ones that reminded him, that he was once a weakling. In addition to being labeled as "useless" as a Raiju in the Raiju Yokai family. His face got all twisted, and his blood began to boil. Even his eyes became bloodshot, as the feeling of rage followed throughout his own body. Trembling where he stood, the Raiju exploded into a blinding rage.
He opened his mouth unleashing his hatred. "DON'T YOU GO ACTING ALL HIGH AND MIGHTY YOU BLACK FEATHERED SOME OF A b***h! THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS LOVE AND AFFECTION IN THIS WORLD! I myself experienced that first hand as a Raiju. Said Raiju before he fought to restrain himself. Once more he opened his mouth not giving the Tengu a chance to respond right away. All the while his power was building up. The Human form that kept it hidden would soon fail, and free his power from its grasp. "Before you respond, please listen to my story. A long time ago, I had a family that I loved and adored. We did everything together. For awhile things were like paradise. But then one day, the humans started a war with each other. One side fought for peace, while the other side fought for world domination. It was then that our kind the Raiju, who were in hiding on Thunder Mountain. We became forced to reveal our existence to the humans. The Raiju said taking a pause before he continued.
"From that point on things got worse. An elder said that time had come for us to use our power over lightning, to tame the beast that was humanity. We trained hard to prepare for battle. Everyone in my family and clan of Yokai managed to manifest, and strengthen their Yokai powers. I unfortunately was a late bloomer. So I wasn't able to fight with my family and the other Raiju. My strength was on the level of a mere human with no powers at all. During the war, I was constantly saved by others. Not being able to rely on my own strength. That hurt my pride and myself deeply. After the war was over, the side who fought for peace made a peace treaty with the opposing side. With the few that were left. One of our elders used their Yokai aura to wipe the humans memories of our existence. The humans who fought for peace. They went on to believe that, the spirits of their ancestors helped them win the war. Upon learning that I had no power as a Raiju, I was cast out of Yokai society and forced to live among what I dreaded most... HUMANS." The trembling intensified as Raiju's story came to a close.
"Over the years I manged to sneak into Thunder Mountain, and the village of Raiju. Learning the secrets of our existence, and why we were blessed with mastery over lightning. Through rigorous training and myself determination. I was able to manifest my powers and become really strong. Surpassing my mom, my dad, and my other clan members. When I become strong I revisited the place I once called home. Naturally after witnessing my power. They wanted me back in their society. I declined their offer, which then caused a major battle to ensue. The aftermath left the ones who made fun of me, and cast me out all dead. The others ran away with their tails between their legs. Never to be seen ever again. Shortly after that incident, I went rouge and sought out worthy opponents. To fill the void in my heart that Love and affection once occupied. Now it's time I show you that there is no such thing as 'Love" and "affection" Tengu." Said the Raiju with a look that displayed his past and all that he had dealt with up until now. His Yokai aura erupted into a large flaming yellowish tone aura. That engulfed that human form that concealed his true form from everyone else. Causing his hair to stand up and debris to float up around him. His golden colored eyes glowed birght as the power of the Raiju coursed through his veins. A large crater formed from the density of the great amount of power he was emitting.

Bonds- Act I, Verse 5 Unfriendly timber
A dangerous lightning booms
the wind grows quietWinds aglow. Air violent. Gales controlled. The Raiju before him was tempered, full of emotion. There was no cause for this explosion, it remained unwavered. For fear was only as strong as its fright, and if you weren't afraid you would remain unnerved. "My name is Shin, and I am a Tengu. Tengu of the Garasu clan, a yokai family that looks out for one another. By not all of blood we are still bound the same. I am interesting in meeting all forms of Yokai, you have come to the right place. Please friend sit with me and have a drink!" Taking a seat, Shin removes a traditional sake sakazuki, and places it before them on the ground. He removes a sake gourd from his belt and pours the cup to its brim. "This is a celebration, it's not everyday that I find myself a new yokai to court. Come, and make merry with me friend!"

Bonds- Act I, Verse 6 Respectful salute
A gracious, warm sake ripples
contained in the cupHis look, mischievous, like one would expect from such an apparition. The Tengu bore a grin as he lifted the wide mouthed sakazuki to his own lips and took a sip. He spoke, "Greetings, Raiju, well met." A small breeze swept through his haori fluttering it in its breath, a stream of leaves falling in its gust. A single leaf landed upon the clear liquids surface, sending a ripple across it's contents. Shin looked down and exclaimed, "What do you know, good fortune!"
"I am from the Sumeru clan of yokai, we live deep in the mountains where other yokai clans do not dare travel. But I have no ill will towards yokai kind, we simply keep to ourselves. And I too have no ill will towards you Raiju. You seem strong, and have your own sense of honor, what more can a yokai hope to live for! We too have our duty, to our friends who we treat as family, and our family who we treat higher. I would also wish you see no ill will towards me, let's toast to that."

A look of surprise washed over Raiju's face as he was thrown into a state of awe. Here he was still sitting with a Tengu, a ledgendary Yokai no one dared to mess with. The Yokai was so friendly Raiju had a hard time believing Shin was real. The whole experience of conversing with an actual Tengu seemed unreal and unheard of. Truly luck was on the Raiju's side more than he knew."Y-Yeah I guess it is good fortune." Said Raiju with a nervous tone. Unsure if his luck was on his side or something outta no where would happen. "So you're from the Sumeru clan eh? I've heard talk here and there about your clan. Some good some bad, rumors and what not. I don't how much your heard about my clan the Raijin clan of Yokai. But we also have our rumors too. Though the clan is a bit divided after the incident I mentioned earlier. I won't bear any ill will towards you Shin as long as you become my friend, and allow me to join your clan. I have nobody that I care about anymore, I'm all alone in this world... Let us toast to that and a new friendship." Said Raiju as he held up his Sakazuki and awaited to make a toast with Shin.

Bonds- Act I, Verse 7 Two warriors dwell
A handed, seasoned sword swings
against the RaijuThe liquid was downed quick, a sweet burn traversing the throat. Exchanging cups pledged them too each other, brothers bound now as members of the Sumeru Clan. "And now." The Tengu stood, like floating on the wind. A feathers breeze lifting towards the sky. He was standing, ready for battle without wasting a single movement. Grasping the hilt of his shirasaya-style blade, housed in black wood. The sword drew, gleaming on what little light struck the cool metal. His sword was drawn. Like the song the wind makes as it dances through the sky, he spoke, "This is Haruichiban. Named for the first storm of the spring season. This treasure embodies my fear. Now on even terms Raiju, all hostility aside, show me your fear." His composure, completely collected. He was ready for a battle among fear, as brothers.

The calm atmosphere created by the Tengu shattered completely. It happened the moment Raiju saw Shin's feathers lifting towards the sky. Even the body language Shin had confirmed that the time for chill'n was over. Another thing that confirmed play time was over, was the blade that the Tengu held. A magnificent work of art the Raijin thought upon laying eyes on it. For a moment Raiju had became too relaxed, and the thought of the Tengu challenging him didn't cross his mind. Coming to his senses, Raiju sat his empty Sake cup down and stood up to face the Tengu before him. "Haruichiban, what a beautiful name for such a wonderfully crafted blade. I see, so it embodies your "fear". Very well then... I shall show you MY "FEAR" Tengu." Replied Raiju before focusing on summoning his power. Just like before a yellow toned aura engulfed his person.It was his Yokai aura, which then began to grow larger as became released as flickering flames. The sudden surge of power caused debris to float up around him once more. Only this time the energy began to twist and transform into a apparition of Tiger. There was roar coming from that same energy. The density behind the energy created a large crater around Raiju as well. "RELEASE" Said Raiju as he became fully submerged in his own Yokai Aura. Which obscured his body from Shin for a moment. The energy of his Yokai aura grew bright. Then immediately afterwards he energy was released creating a blinding light and powerful shockwave around Raiju. Blowing away anything that was too weak to withstand the force behind the shockwave. As well as temporarily blinding onlookers witnessing the phenomena taking place. The shockwave was not an attack towards Shin. It was just something that occurred when Raiju released his true power, and went through the transformation connected to his true form.
When the light faded Raiju emerged no longer a human being. For that previous form was non-existent at the moment. All that remained as a humanoid Tiger looking male being sporting ears and a tail and all notable features of a tiger.Though his fur was yellowish with black stripes all over his body. His fangs and claws were sharp as nails if not even sharper. He removed his Kimono and threw it off to his right side.Letting the article of clothing just float in the wind, as it fell to the ground beside him. The Raijin stood there displaying his muscular body. Yellow toned lightning engulfed him, causing his body to become clad in some sort of lightning based armor. The armor resembled the same exact armor that warriors wore in the warring states era. Only there was bolts of electricity dancing dangerous around it. As the energy also raged on around Raiju. A continuous low rumble of thunder could be heard around Raiju. From the lightning super heating the air around him. Thus causing thunderclaps to occur. "Behold this a technique that I developed myself. I call it "Narukami". This technique is another technique I developed myself. I call this one "Raikou". HAAAAAAAAAA!" Said Raiju as he revealed the names of two of his techniques. Then all of sudden the Raijin felt the emotion of aggression. As he threw a punch with his right fist towards Shin. Even though aggression was technically considered hostile, and Shin said to put feelings of that nature aside. It was just that Raiju always got aggressive against strong opponents. Something that he couldn't help when in battle, for if you weren't aggressive enough. You would surely die in battle very easily. A tiger composed of lightning suddenly shot out of his fist, and sprinted towards the Tengu with great speed. The beast attempted to bite and claw at the Tengu. If the tiger struck Shin there was a chance of him becoming severely electrocuted, causing wide spread pain throughout his body. Which could possibly lead to a heart attack if she shock proved too much for his body to handle. Though o whether or not the tiger struck shin or shin stuck the tiger. It would explode into a blinding light that would blind him temporarily. Due to the tiger not being a completely stable mass. Raiju watched on with his golden eyes who glowed bright while his power flowed through his body. As his attack traveled towards the Tengu. The Raiju began to study his opponents actions in this st battle of theirs that was already underway.
