Ms. Shannon is an author that I have recently started reading. I didn't have enough money to purchase the new novel Catspell when I seen it so I have contented myself with reading her other works until then, even though Catspell is getting bad reviews on Amazon. Her forte is romance, and it seems to be mostly historical romance or at least that's what it looks like so far.
The Hawk's Lady was my introduction. A Christian pirate working for a Muslim lord imprisons the wild daughter of an English dutchess. Lots of sexual tension going on throughout the story. Steamy sex scenes as usual, but it seems the men are too infatuated with Tory's breasts. Cover your bosom if it makes you uncomfortable, woman! With over 400 pages it seemed like there was too much action going on, but enjoyable if you like romances.
Now I am reading The Trelayne Inheritance. Angel is a young woman ruled by science who travels to her mother's home of England to discover why she killed herself when Angel was a child. She finds herself caught in a battle between powerful vampire adversaries as she's drawn to the Apollo-like Earl of Trelayne. At the moment I am one-third into it, but I was pleasantly surprised to also find a werewolf is in this story. This is odd because I was in the mood for some werewolf fiction presently. 3nodding
So is anyone else familiar with this author's work?
