This is small forest not far from Oak Town where the trees are so densely packed together. They cast a darkness in in broad daylight, requiring a light source to navigate through. Not too many animals are drawn here either, save for those that prefer the darkness. Most who know these woods would insist they are cursed; the sounds of wailing being heard and the trees themselves seeming to move on their own, as if to trap all visitors. Others would say it's just the wind whistling through the hollowed bark and the trees swaying in the wind. Regardless, quite a few people get lost in these woods and even fewer are never seen again.

The low hum of the motorcycle would approach the woods abruptly and then immediately silence as it came to a halt. It's rider sat motionless, her thoughts elsewhere at the moment. She still couldn't believe it... Circe was selling her potions by Hargeon Port when she heard promising information from a customer. A dreary woman who used "bizarre" magic like herself in Oak Town. Without a second to waste, the witch packed up her shop and sped off to the same town. Speaking with the locals, almost no one knew who she was talking about, save a middle aged man who looked like he didn't want any trouble. Dahlia was her name; a strange woman who kept to herself and only skulked into town on rare occasions. She displayed use of strange magic which deterred others from approaching her. In fact, the man had temporarily went blind because of her. Circe was ecstatic to hear of this, almost reveling in the stranger's misery...only for her heart to sink. Just when she heard signs of another witch, the lead had brought her to this cursed forest - the last place Dahlia was seen three years ago. Hopeful at first despite what she heard, Circe could already feel that foul energy and her hope dwindling. She got off her motorcycle, the witch raising her head to the dark congregation of trees before her and sighed. "What...have you done, Dahlia?" she asked aloud, solemnly. Hovering her hand over the bike, it would bright glow before transforming into a silver broom and then being whisked into thin air with a wave of her hand.

Circe would cautiously enter the woods, preparing herself for what she might encounter. But deep down she already knew what to expect... This forest was dark, unnaturally so, which prompted the witch to summon her Thermal Wand. Using the burning tip as a light source, she could at least see where she was going now. She could only imagine what traversing this place at night would be like. But even then, she would navigate the way she was now by following that foul energy. It was an aura like no other, one that only a witch could produce and a witch could detect. Right now it felt like it was close, but also very far away. That could only mean...Dahlia was definitely here, watching her from afar. Where exactly Circe couldn't pinpoint and so she would walk on, waiting for her to make the first move. It was all she could do at this point...

Venturing through these woods was almost suffocating; the unending darkness surrounded you, isolated you. It wasn't so dark that you couldn't make out the trees and foliage, but there was a certain palpable malice behind it. This feeling of cold made the wandering witch shiver, the only source of warmth and light coming from her magic wand. The flame on the tip dance as she moved, dimming ever so slightly now and again. Suddenly Circe stopped, feeling compelled to do some reason she couldn't explain. The light from her wand grew fainter as the entire forest was silenced, with nothing but the witch's breath on the wind. By the time she realized, looking up and letting out an audible gasp, the unseen entity had dropped down from above with it's mouth agape. In an instant, this beast had Circe caught in it's jaws down to her waist. There was a snap followed by the crunching of bones as she was being eaten by this creature. The light had been snuffed out as the beast consumed its victim, gnashing its teeth on the bone. And then everything was quiet...

"Dahlia, I assume? My, aren't you savage?" a voice rang in the darkness. Suddenly, the trees surrounding the monster would be lit ablaze with green flames, causing it to huddle to the center in fright. That which appeared to be the corpse of Circe was revealed to be nothing but a dead tree, as the woman stepped out from the fire. The witch stood silently, staring at the Misguided before her; it's grotesque form looking nothing like a human. This is what happened to witches who commited taboo; a curse that had no known natural remedy and would plague the offender for life. It was rare, almost unheard of, that a witch could control this immortal form. But given the state of the creature, it appeared Dahlia was not one of them. Circe's gaze was a somber one, gripped with the harsh reality of yet another fallen witch. "...It seems I was too late...again." She walked toward the cowering Misguided with a raised hand, the corrupted one screeching in protest as she tried to back away. However, the fire around it prevented it from going to far. Placing her hand upon its face, she would cast her spell: Morgane's Understanding.

A bright light left Circe's palm, light returning to the woods; however still dim. The creature before her would scream as it shrunk back down to the size of a person. The witch felt her magic drained after the spell completed, falling to her knees in exhaustion. She now knelt across from the woman known as Dahlia, who was curled up and sobbing to herself. "So it's true... I am nothing..." she cried out. "I was a fool to think I could control it." Circe looked at this stranger she would even call sister and shook her head. "You...commited taboo on purpose? Why?" At this, Dahlia would finally look up, tears welling her eyes as she grit her teeth. "Why? Because...I wished to be stronger. I was a weak witch with no coven... And the villagers...they all think I'm some crazy woman. How can I be accepted without power? Do you know what that's like?" the dark haired woman asked the blonde. For a moment she sat there and looked at her, this poor girl who longed for a place to belong and had no idea how to get there. She bitterly smiled and stood, letting out a sigh. "I do. I'm still looking for that too- a place to be. It's a shame...I thought maybe you and I could've been that for each other." Dahlia lowered her gaze, her tears still shedding, now silently. "Maybe...if I knew you were coming...I should've waited..." Suddenly, black specks of ash would rise from the young lady still seated, though she didn't seem startled or surprised. "So this is how it ends..." Again, Circe's smile would fade, having been here in this spot before other witches. She held out her hand, the Krauss Grimoire appearing in a flash of black light. With this book she was able to use such powerful spells, such as the illusion, fire and turning Dahlia back to normal. It was with this same tool that she would now save the young witch again. "Sorry...this spell is meant to free your soul from your 'sins', so to speak... And so-" she explained, before being interrupted. "No, it's okay. I understand. I...forfeit my life when I committed taboo..." It was a sad and harsh ending for the Misguided, but this was the better of the two outcomes in the blonde's opinion. "Well then...if it's alright with you, I'd like for you to live on. Please join my coven!" she requested, holding out her hand to the dying witch. She hesitated at first, staring at this bizarre woman who held out her hand to someone who was not long for this world. But perhaps that was why she agreed, taking her hand. And so, as she faded away, Dahlia's name was added to the Krauss Coven.

Circe left the forest behind after extinguishing the flames; unfortunately remaining as dark as ever. Apparently, it had something to do with Dahlia's magic, something she would have to confirm later on. Right now she was bushed and needed some rest, someplace to wind down after overexerting her magic. "Hmm...it has been a while since I've been to Balsam... I bet Lulu would- Oh! I almost forgot!" She had a special delivery to make to a customer in Oshibana Town for potions of a special variety and a large sum of them. The day was still young, there would be plenty of time for Balsam later! Snapping her fingers, Circe summoned her broom which transformed into her motorcycle in an instant. "Of course I didn't forget about you either! I think you're due for a tune up" she cooed to her bike as she hopped on and sped off.
