Personality: [Click me]She has no trust in organized institutions. She's a natural leader, but often worries about failure. Laura isn't afraid of doing the ugly things that need to be done, truly believing that the ends justify the her means. Laura is an unstable, naive, and prone to "snapping". Those who deal with her, but don't know her personally, note her to be cold, distant, exceptionally driven, and ruthless.

Dislikes: Feeling powerless, feeling cornered, bullies.

Power: Laura possesses a form of telepathy that grants her total control over insects and bugs within 3-4 blocks. Laura has an almost limitless ability to focus on multiple insects at once, or to focus on other things while also using her insects. She can give general instructions, in which case she is only vaguely aware of their movements, and guide individual insects through complex tasks, in which case she is more precisely aware of their movements and environment. Her power can sometimes perform actions by habit, such as when she is incapacitated, or is in an altered mental state, without her conscious instruction. Laura sometimes uses bugs to "channel" her emotions, lending her an aura of indomitable calm. Laura can somewhat offload her emotional cues into her bugs and thus appear calmer than she truly is.

The sensory input from her bugs is "fuzzy" and difficult for humans to interpret. She can see and hear clearly due to so much information being thrown at her, but the "signal quality" is unreliable. Based on the combined sensory input of large numbers of insects, Laura can gain a very clear mental picture of everything around her. She can also sense the biology and location of every bug she can control. This gives her enhanced aim and the ability to dodge attacks with supernatural reaction times. However, in environments where bugs are scarce, or when dealing with materials that they don't interact well with, her image of the area can become less reliable.

Power Strengths: Her power gives her a great sense of everything that's going on around her, and makes her incredibly adept at taking on people without some form of durability. It also gives her a great sense of what's going on in her radius.
Power Weaknesses: Laura is blind and deaf, the result of overuse of her powers. She hears and sees the world through her use of her minions.
In areas that have few or no bugs her options are incredibly limited.
She's not strong or tough, in fact she's somewhat frail for a 5'6" teenage girl.

History: Laura was initially a shy and awkward teenage girl with a keen interest in mutants. She was surviving, for lack of a better word, from the point her mother died, and then surviving from the point she started getting bullied -- she just wanted to get by. She responded to stress with silence and withdrawal. She was insecure in her femininity, describing her long, dark curly hair as her only feminine feature. She would always stress over choosing her clothes, not wearing bright colors or anything that showed skin. Laura got her powers on a January day, one where her bullies had gone too far.

On that particular day, the trio of bullies that had been tormenting her stuffed her into a locker full of used tampons and pads. After a while Laura had a panic attack and mutated. The mutation itself rendered her blind and deaf, but granted her the ability to control bugs in a radius around her. Since then, she's mostly been laying low and keeping to herself.
