If there was one thing she envied her half brother for it was that Col had inherited the fuzzier aspects of their bakeneko side, while she had to make do with scarves, mittens, and long pants whenever the weather was cool. Kia wouldn't have been outside at all if she could have helped it, but today was the last day members of her graduating class could pick up any supplies they had left in the lab before they were cleared away for incoming students. Since she had been heading in this direction anyway, Coluthon had also asked her to pick up a freshling enrollment form for Rhea, which was what she was currently attempting to do. As it turned out, she had chosen an incredibly poor time for it.
Arkham students, she supposed, were spilling out of the Academy and moving on with their day, newsprint pads and musical instruments tucked under their arms and chipper smiles on their faces. Kia moved off to the side and ducked her head further into her scarf, far too many irises darting here and there as she watched them, waiting for the crowd to dissipate.

Temari slipped out of the classroom, their bag hung over their shoulder. They had a painting currently drying in the classroom, but they also had one they wanted to get back to working on... one in their dorm room. The class one was, as always, based on the provided materials. Tema did not mind doing that kind of work, because they knew it would help them get better skill at painting the things they WANTED to paint, but it was not what they found particularly interesting. They started down the hall, lost in thought, and then stepped to one side, and dug in their bag, because they could not remember if they had left their favorite pen in the classroom by accident. "Argh..." They muttered as they dug, then "AH! THERE you are!" They patted the pen, and then turned, but accidentally bumped the person they were next to. "Oh! I'm so sorry, I did not mean that!" Tema said, sounding anxious.

Kia watched the collision play out in her head before it actually happened, but she still didn't move to avoid it. She was curious to see what would happen after, whether the litch would apologize or blame her for being in the way or do any number of other things that she couldn't predict, not like the way she just knew they were going to—
Her wings tucked in closer to her back as she was nudged, and she raised her hand in a slightly dismissive wave at the apology.
"It's fine, really. No harm done." She glanced at the other students still rushing to and fro. "You all seem rather... distracted. Is it finals for Arkham too?"
Aria Starstone apologies this week has sucked yay <3

Tema looked very relieved that the unknown individual was not angry with them. "I am glad you are alright! I do not want to hurt anyone, after all." They reached up, and adjusted their hat on their head, before looking back up at the stranger. "Ah? Finals? Oh, next week. So a lot of us are rushing off to get those last minutes of studying in. Or perhaps rushing off to get some rest and relaxation, in the hopes they will do better if they are not all worried and panicked. Me, I'm spreading them out in a nice even mix between the two." They stepped back, and offered their hand for a shake. "I'm Temari, by the way."

She took their hand and shook. "Prosdokia. Kia, if you prefer." She smiled just a little, as if her mouth couldn't manage more mirth. "I was one of the ones who studied right up until the bitter end, to my detriment. Spreading it out sounds like a better plan." She still found it hard to just relax to this day, which worked for her but probably few others.
"What are you studying?"

Tema smiled and nodded. "You can call me Tema, if you like, Kia." They shrugged and laughed. "I have found that over studying just makes me panic and stressed, and that is neither fun, enjoyable, or worth my time and effort, to be honest!" They sighed, and added "And then I get to the point where I'm panicked ON the finals day, more then the usual 'AHH TEST DAY' panic, and forget important details. But not studying just feels like a risk. So, balance." The question of what Tema was studying earned Kia a warm smile. "Obviously, all the core classes, but my focus is traditional arts... I wish to be a painter." They smiled and added "I hope to learn how to do ink painting, too, but right now I'm focused on Oils."
