One year ago today, I was blissfully unaware that my father was dying. Yeah he had a surgery on his ear to remove skin cancer but that was about a year ago. And then just before the end of 2016 he had more skin removed inside his nose. It wasn't until late February 2017 that he was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia which he fought against until a clot in his right leg took his life on October 2nd 2017. The cause of death is listed as Ischemic Right Leg. This last month was an unpleasant time but the worst is still coming. His creditors want their payments but his income is gone and his accounts are almost depleted by paying his monthly mortgages. Just another reason why I didn't want to have to deal with this and why I am not contesting my younger sister's request to be estate administrator. Halloween wasn't exciting for me this year, First year in 20, that I didn't decorate. I doubt Thanksgiving will be too much fun either, what with everyone talking about their lives and me worrying about my dad's bills. Everyone wants some inheritance but none of the responsibility of paying off his bills (which probably outweighs his assets).
I do hope everyone else has a pleasant Thanksgiving (assuming you celebrate it) and that you let your friends and family know how you feel about them because they just may not be there next year.

I'm sorry you have to go through all of this. I've watched both of my parents go through this with their fathers and with my brother. I wish I had something worthwhile to say that would lift your spirits or make you feel better. And ******** creditors, below scum.

I thank you for the sentiment and regardless of whether I like it or not I will survive because..."Whether the weather be cold or whether the weather be hot, we'll weather the weather, whatever the weather, whether we like it or not." As for creditors, I don't blame them because they don't give credit without expectations of profit. "It's just business, nothing personal" and that is the way I look at it.

I do enjoy weather quotes, but I don't recognize that one, I would say it is Winston Churchill(inscrutable), but it sounds more romantic. Just ******** creditors, I say that because their business is based on the misfortune of others, but it is capitalism(a system I respect and despise because of the scruples). This country, nay this world, would not have been built with out creditors. Doesn't mean you have to like them
