It was sunny with a hint of a breeze. Autumn time was always nice, with the changing of the leaves and animals getting ready for hibernation. While one little smoky colored filly, brandishing a basket headed out of PonyVille towards the Everfree forest to hunt for flowers. Bright blue eyes watched the area as she went casually, she wasn't too worried about the dangers. It wasn't like she was going into the forest, she was staying at the edges. Never straying too far. Stopping a moment she looked back over her shoulder, basket hovering by the light lavender glow from her horn. "Hello?" she called, thinking she had heard something. It was probably her imagination, it sometimes got away from her. Specially when she was looking for something to practice her hobby. Giving a small shrug, the filly moved on as she searched for something, anything with a nice fragrance. Perhaps even some seeds would do too. She liked growing flowers and making them into things. Though, sometimes these trips got lonely, being out here on the edge of danger... But what could go wrong?

Strange things lived outside of the forest. They looked a lot like her tribemates, but not, and it was very fascinating. Of course, the older ponies told her not to wander too far, and that strangers could be dangerous, but the filly was too curious to just let them tell her what to do! A quick look around wouldn't hurt her, right? She snuffled around, peeking through the bush. Oh, was someone out there? There was someone out there! One of the strangers she had seen before. "Grr, who are you?" Flower Power bounced out of the bush, fluffing up her fur so she looked bigger and hopefully more intimidating. Her growl sounded more like a squeak.

The sudden voice and blur of movement caused Lavender to hop backwards, the magic coming from her horn stop and her basket fall to the ground. Blinking wide light blue eyes, she looked at the strange black and white filly that stood before her. She was certainly different, with paws? Instead of front hooves? And even a pelt? Tilting her head to one side, the surprise starting to wear off. "I'm Lavender Fancy, Who are you?" She asked looking around for a moment before spotting her toppled basket, some of the smaller flowers had tumbled free. "Where did you come from? I didn't think many came close to the Everfree forest."She had heard horror stories of the forest and of the strange folk that lived within its limits. But she had scoffed at the tales and thought it was just a misunderstood place. Though some nights she did hear the howl of the Timber Wolves that roamed, it was one reason why she didn't venture in too far on her quest for flowers.

The filly growled some more, but her ears were forward and interested in the other pony's words. She didn't seem dangerous like the older ponies said! And she was the same size as her, which meant she was a filly too. Saying hello to another filly wouldn't be bad, right? They even spoke the same language, so that had to mean it was safe.
"I'm Flower Power. What's a Fancy?" She tilted her head a little, like an inquisitive puppy, and stared with her bright hazel eyes. The other filly had four hooves instead of two and a thing on her forhead, neat. Then she looked at the basket and the flowers that had fallen out. "What are you doing?"

"I'm... Not entirely sure. My mother might have explained it to me once, but I don't remember..." Lavender said glancing at the sky for a moment before turning back to the strange filly before her. "I suppose I like pretty things, and pretty smells."
She wasn't too sure about the 'fancy' part of her name. Everyone just called her Lavender all the time. So she, at times, forgot it was even there unless she was introducing herself to someone new. Shaking her head, her lavender mane flicking slightly in the motion.
"I'm looking for flowers, some that smell nice." Lavender looked back at her basket before using her magic to gather the small fall flowers and place them back into her basket. "Mom owns a flower shop and I like finding wild flowers to give to her and make things with too." Looking back towards Flower Power, a smile on her face. "Do you like flowers, Flower?"

"Pretty things, like flowers!" Flower Power exclaimed, as understanding entered her eyes. According to this pony, 'fancy' meant pretty things and Flower Power quickly accepted it as truth. Most of her tribe family had names like Sharp Tooth or Keen Sense... anything that had to do with being a good hunter. Flower Power's name was a little weird, even to her tribe, but the filly just put it down to her mother wanting to be different. She was a bit different from the other fillies around, anyway.
Flower Power stared at her use of magic in awe. "Yeah, flowers are really neat. I like all the colours and patterns, and how they go together sometimes," Flower Power answered. "Um, how did you make things fly like that? I've never seen that before." Before Lavender could get away, Flower moved in close and sniffed at her horn. This was the source of the glowy stuff?

Lavender smiled at Flower Power as she mentioned that she liked flowers as well. That was nice that they had something in common, maybe someday they could help her mother with her flower arrangements. It would be lots of fun at least. When she was asked about her magic, Lavender Fancy blinked slightly before taking a small step back as Flower sniffed? At her horn.
"You've never seen magic before?" She asked a bit surprised, maybe there weren't any magic users where Flower was from? "It's very helpful at times. Other times a hoof full. I'm still learning to control my magic."
Looking at the basket again, she let a light lavender glow surrounded it before it surrounded the basket to pull it closer. It was easy to show how magic worked, then explain with words. She just knew she couldn't use it for long periods of time at the moment. She was working on magic control, sometimes it was still clumsy.
