Her family used to be so close. Her mother, Lylia, would always wake up early in the morning to lay out a breakfast of pancakes or waffles to feed her three girls, always letting them slather on as much syrup as her little sweets loving babies desired. She would always laugh and tell the girls stories of her days before they were born, and they would always listen intently until they finished their meals. Then, they were off. Playing in the yard for hours, living the life that many children could only dream of.

Over time though, things began to change. Truffle was spending more time with the trio's other mother, and even Taffy's twin, BonBon, had gone off and made friends of her own. They were once so close--inseparable! Connected at the hip like twins should be. Taffy wasn't sure what caused her sister to spend less time with her in favor of some of her other friends, but in short, Taffy hated it. She remembered this hatred come to a boiling point when BonBon disappeared one day while they were on a camping trip. Taffy remembered how frantic their mother was in trying to find Taffy's other half, but she was nowhere to be found. Taffy spent the entire time the other was gone crying, assuming she had lost her sister for good.

And then, she returned. Having been spending the night at a friend's house, Taffy felt her sadness replaced by something... else. She was furious. Her own twin apparently didn't even love her enough to tell her she was leaving, and that struck a cord in the young girl that would be the beginning of a somewhat sad song for the days to come.

It had grown hard to look at either of her sisters. With neither seemingly wanting to be home, Taffy spent many a night tucked against her mother's side, letting Lylia hum soft songs of encouragement and reassurance to the girl. An entire childhood filled with love and the closeness of her two sisters had seemingly passed. Now it was time for her to find herself.
