Trez' studio apartment is small, clean, and hyper-organized. Everything has it's place, and every inch of storage is used intelligently. It is far from cluttered, giving off the feeling of open space, while maintaining a kind of rigid, structured vibe. The desk is the one exception to this. It's a kind of organized chaos. Everything is in order, but there is copious amounts of papers and folders. So much so, that the drawers are full, the top is covered, save for a small work space. There are stacks continued on the floor around the desk, neatly awaiting their turn to be useful. In the little reprieve is a pen cup, a bottle opener, and a family photo. The rest of the apartment is mostly devoid of personal effects.

“Uhhhh…” He honestly couldn’t remember having shoes at any point during the night before. Had he really lost his shoes? He really was a ******** wreck.

He stood there, awkwardly realizing how pieced together he felt. No shoes, too-small, borrowed pajamas. No weapons… That thought dawned on him with a serious weight. He would have to replace the weapons he had taken with him. They were probably still in the trunk of the car he crashed. He would need a new cellphone. And… A new car. His friends were all in various states of anger or disappointment. He was no closer to avenging his dead family, and now he was without a job, the one thing that gave his daily life purpose.

But then Taiki had his shoes on, and was telling him not to resist the magic, to keep his mind clear. That part was a struggle, but by focusing on the male’s skin against his own, warm and comforting and soft, he managed.

A totally new distraction came into play as his gaze settled on his apartment. Through the open door of his bathroom, where they had appeared, it looked there had been a tornado in his living room. Somewhere in the back of his mind, a panic set in. Had the thugs followed him home? Had they hurt someone? It could be their work. Afterall, his childhood home had looked much like this after they’d gotten their hands on it.

He barely heard Taiki explaining, but when it registered, everything in his mind came screeching to a halt. It had been… Taiki. Taiki had destroyed everything? Had he been that upset? ”What the ********, man? I get that I was gone for a long time, but it wasn’t that long! There’s s**t everywhere! How did you even manage… Ugh…” he stopped himself, taking a deep breath. ”You know what..? I don’t even need to know. You were upset, and… Yeah. It’s just things. It can be replaced.”

Ignoring the male’s comment about glass, (he had spent a good deal of his life barefoot, it wouldn’t kill him) he carefully made his way to through the disaster, careful not to step on anything, fearful of ruining it further. “And you don’t have to worry about cleaning it up. I’ll do it later. It’ll give me something to do. I was thinking about rearranging things, anyways.”

It took him a few moment to reach the bedroom portion of the open floor plan, but instead of going to his closet, he moved to the desk. “There was a picture here. Do you know where it ended up?” he mumbled, sighing a bit.

Taiki bit his lip, looking away from Trez while he yelled. He knew he was going to be mad and he had ever right to be. Which just made him feel worse about the whole situation. “I’m sorry,” he said quietly, after he was done yelling. Carefully, he followed Trez into the bedroom area of the tiny apartment. The desk was probably one of the cleanest areas in whole room, though the only reason was Taiki had to use it while doing all the paperwork for his new position.

“I can clean up the glass and stuff while you are out with Craith. I’ll be here anyway doing paperwork and stuff.” He was still avoiding looking at Trez’s face. Instead looking at his feet, which thankfully missed getting cut by the glass all across the floor. “Unless you don’t want me here. I can take what I need back to my apartment.” He hadn’t even thought about how Trez would feel about the fact that he had been in his apartment for so long while he was gone. At the time, it just seemed easier. Moving things would have been a waste of time that could be used for more important tasks.

Taiki had a moment of panic when he was asked about the picture. He remembered putting it up somewhere, but for a moment he couldn’t remember where. Though when he remembered that he had wrapped it up and put it in Trez’s closet because he broke the frame, his panic increased. I was supposed to replace that, he thought. “I do,” he said, setting the shoes down on the floor and walking to the closet. He grabbed the bundle of fabric he had wrapped it in to keep it safe. Carefully unwrapping it, he was relieved to see that he didn’t accidentally damage it further. There was a long crack across the glass and one of the corners of the frame was a little loose, but the picture itself was okay. Walking out, he handed the broken picture over to Trez. “I’m sorry. It was an accident.”

“You don’t have to clean. You can do your work here. Just… stop.” he grumbled, the agitation rising again. He was cold, which was never a good sign. He hated when his element acted out, because there was rarely anything he could do about it. He rubbed his hands against his shirt to keep the ice from forming.

He watched Taiki walk to the closet, returning with a bundle of cloth. Panic ripped through him, seeing the glass cracked, the frame broken. But he gently took it from the male, hands trembling as he examined the photo. Relief flooded him as he realized it was fine. Carefully, he began removing it from the frame.

“N-no, it’s fine.” he mumbled, “I’ll just get a new frame.” His tone was strained, barely containing the agitation. He wasn’t really mad at Taiki, moreso overwhelmed by everything. Which, again, was his own fault.

He turned towards his bed, setting the picture down carefully on the bedside table. The broken from was tossed to the side, covered by a thin layer of ice, which shattered alongside the glass as it hit the floor. He made his way to the closet, pulling off his shirt as he went. His back was bruised and areas were in various stages of healing. He rummaged through the mess, found his deodorant, and swiped some on, before pulling out a clean shirt and putting it on. There was a split second of contemplating walking to the bathroom to change his pants, but decided against it. They needed to get back quick. Taiki would have to either turn around, or deal with seeing his a**.

He changed into clean boxers and pants, managed to find some socks and a hoodie. The safe in the bottom of the closet was untouched, and he was relieved to find he had left his spare handguns there. He strapped on his chest holster, put the guns in their place, strapped in a few extra clips, and took a deep breath.

“Alright, let me grab my shoes, and we’ll be good to head back.” With the hoodie zipped to hide the weapons, he slipped into his shoes, ran a brush through his hair, spritzed himself with cologne.

Okay. So. I’m not in the best headspace right now. Just.. warning you. So you might not want to touch skin. Freezer-burn is real and you will get it.”

“Okay. If you do need help with anything later just let me know,” he said softly, repressing a shiver at the rapid temperature drop. A sure sign that he’d ******** up badly. He was surprised that Trez wasn’t just banning him from the place or demanding he help fix it. It’s what he would have done anyway. Maybe he just doesn’t want me around… or for me to ******** up anything else he thought, watching silently as Trez carefully took apart the frame. Even though he was expecting it the shattering glass and ice the sound made him flinch. He stared at the broken glass, watching the ice melt and listening to the sounds of his friend getting ready. At least he hoped they were still friends. Destroying someone’s apartment in drunken grief stricken anger didn’t exactly make friendships stronger.

Sighing, he glanced up just in time to see Trez undress. He was shocked to see the bruises scattered across his back. What did you get into? He almost asked, but considering how agitated the other was it would be a horrible mistake. Instead he turned his focus to the room, thinking about what he could do to help. I should at least pick up the broken glass. And restock somethings. There was a lot of it that he counted towards personal belongings and he planned on leaving alone unless he was asked.

He hadn’t realized he was starting to drift into his thoughts till he got snapped out of it by his friend’s announcement. Shaking his head,he walked over. Reaching to grab his hand, he stopped himself just in time. “Um...okay.” He always grabbed onto people by their hands when teleporting, which usually meant skin on skin contact, but it didn’t have to be. After a moment of deliberation, he grabbed Trez’s upper arms.b] “Try to relax. Just a bit,” he said, closing his eyes. It was a little bit more difficult this time around, due to both of their emotional stats. Thankfully it was a familiar place, so they arrived no problem.

Once they were back in his apartment, Taiki let go and went to sit down. The mental and physical strain was making him slightly light headed. Maybe I should text Craith to bring food. Or maybe that would just piss him off. Sighing, he leaned back into the chair and closed his eyes, willing himself to not get a headache this early.
