Immediately following the events Kleitos found herself within Ravenbranch. The she-wolf walked with a hung head and loosely moving tail. She wasn't feeling the need to show power or strength, in fact Kleitos found herself prepared to be taken down. Naturally her instincts would have kicked in to self-preserve, but she just felt like a waste of a being.
Flashbacks of blood tore through her and visibly she winced at the invisible attackers. Fortunately the trees surrounding her provided cover. The cover helped to take peering eyes from her pack mates off of her. Kleitos had taken herself as far as she could before needing to simply breathe. She recalled briefly the way the fresh soil looked as it covered the wolf she once loved. Torn away from him so soon left her feeling raw - how could someone have been so cruel. Kleitos felt dimly aware that it was due to jealousy, but how could his death have solved such a problem.
"Oh.." She sighed woefully to herself. Ears pinned back against her head as she felt sorry for her mate, herself, and her pack.

Dunstan was a loner for the time being he tended to keep to himself as he had yet to find a mate, or some pack to integrate into. He knew he was approaching the the northeast territory and had watched the wolves that were dwelling in the area he was scouting from a distance knowing that they could be quite the handful, and were well executed as a pack when it came to hunting formations.
Thinking to himself should he try to skirt around the edges, or go directly into the den.
He decided well now is a good as time as any to try to integrate and find a place to claim for his own dwelling, he would either be triumphant or would have to attempt to escape from a fatal path he was about to venture on due to the male wolves roaming in that region.
While he was trotting through the forest he noticed to the left a female wolf who seemed to be in great dismay. Dunstan stopped and realized that this must have been the leaders' mate as she seemed to be in a grievous state of mourning.
Approaching her Caustiously Dunstance paced back, and forth, when he decided on how to approach her he knelt down on his knees and laid next to her gently leaning his head against hers.

Laying down had been the only way she could keep herself together. The earth, for the time being, had been the only thing she could draw strength from. It provided grass for comfort and the solid dirt for support.
Kleitos closed her eyes.
This brief act of trust in the world was when she felt the warmth of a body lay next to her and a head press to hers. A lone tear rolled from her eyes and she held onto the moment in a fond silence. Deep within Kleitos she knew that when she opened her eyes it wouldn't be the mate she knew laying there. No. Based on the unfamiliar scent she knew that this wolf was a stranger. One she hadn't anticipated showing himself without some form of warning, but what chance had she given him for a warning.
Her gut also warned her that perhaps this wolf was out to seek a place among her pack mates. Irony. She wasn't so easily amused these days and yet she almost cracked a smile at the thought. Perhaps this wolf could make a difference.
"Hello."
She finally convinced herself to mutter. Kleitos found herself maintaining shut eyes. Somehow having them closed made her feel protected. Or perhaps that was also the warmth of another wolf so close to her.

In a low bartone voice Dunstan responded to the female softly speaking "Hello, I could not help but notice that you were out here in the woods by yourself, and you seemed to be in great distress , I thought perhaps I could accompany you until you felt better."
Dunstan looked up and saw the rest of the male wolves ahead congregating over by the large rock den.
"Tell me how many male wolves dwell in this area of the north eastern territory if you would so be inclined to do so I would challenge each of them as it stands to gain a higher rank.
I know now you are grieving, but if you are left unattended for too long with out a male wolf to accompany you who knows what your future may entail.
Over time when you feel you are ready I would like to have you become my mate."
Dunstan looked over to her and leaned forward to place a gentle lick of his tongue against the side of this beautiful females muzzle.
"If I am to be successful in taking on the males from this portion of Of the north eastern territory if I were to be placed in a confrontational situation then I shall need to know how many numbers strong this portion of the northeastern territory has of male wolves. I will always be here to protect you, no matter what the outcome, if I were to become wounded I would need time to heal but I would return and stay close enough to you to keep you well under my protection."
Noticing the female wolfs smirk about his proposed idea made Dunstan feel pride, as it seemed to her liking, and he was content in having her feel better about her loss.

Grieving. The word was so foreign to her. Kleitos knew she was grieving, the mate she'd love and eventually lost was gone. No amount of closed eyes would bring him back or protect him from the inevitable possibilities that lay ahead. Though he'd spoken - formally to boot - she hadn't entirely caught up with his words before she could begin to speak back. Her ears flicked backward and she lowered her head a touch. Before all of this she had been so confident, spoken the way he had, and had even been so forward.
Back in the day.
The saying tugged at her endlessly with each thought that provoked memories. Though everything had happened so recently she felt as though it had been years. The time to act was now and should she maintain her own personal status she'd need to consider her options. How many? The question poked at her briefly and she opened her eyes to better see the male that had so blatantly put himself out there. He appeared every bit as confident as he sounded. Had her mate not just perished and she had been single he'd have been her type. Yet the brazen comments made her brow furrow and her heart ache.
"You're awful brave.." Kleitos stated plainly and found herself pulling away slightly. "The pack has a number of males. I'd have to consider whether or not to share those details with you carefully." Her pack was her family - yes they had caused her such pain and sorrow, but she felt her loyalty kick right back up where it had left off. Pack meant home.
Even with pulling away she still felt something in her flicker. His confidence couldn't be ignored. The brazen way he spoke screamed out to her in a way that she couldn't explain. Though her instincts told her to question his motives she felt herself struck blind by his forward thinking. He was being proactive - it was an attractive trait.
"I appreciate your offer of protection." Kleitos continued where she had left off. "You're far to kind. You'd make for a fine mate.." She was leading up to a 'but' and then found herself hesitating. Her mind was suddenly fueled by vengeance. A take over would mean the possibility of removing the individual that had hurt her so badly from the picture.
Plotting a demise... who are you?
The thought pricked her like an invisible pin and she shuddered. Where was this leading her?

"Klietos it is not about being brave though I kindly accept your words as a compliment." He was on his feet again surveying the Ravenbranch area, and as he spoke he leaned forward, with his head slightly bowed, as a sign of gratitude for her kind words. "Take all the time you need, I know I am new to the area, and territory, as such I, would expect to have to carefully judge how I carry myself.." He looked onward watching her facial expressions change. He could tell that even though her pack did something that hurt her, she was still fond of them.
"You are most welcome , if I may continue being so bold I would say m'lady, I have nothing more than the intent to have you be by my side, and we shall reign supreme with a just sense of how to lead the pack, since for every action there is a reaction, and as such those who are unjustified in doing deeds they have committed should have to be reviewed by a panel of its peers, and we would have final judgement."
"I shall wait until you are ready Since I have only eyes for you no other female wolf can lead me astray, and I am kind, but I do have a side where if push comes to shove, I will fight to protect that which I cherish, and value with my heart."
Sitting back on his hind legs, he stared off in the distance making sure to keep an eye open for would be intruders, and to make sure the female wolf he was vowing to keep safe, he got up , and walked back to her side, sitting diligently watching for any signs that there may be trouble lurking, he could feel a lot of the energy in the forest around him as it seemed to be tense he assumed it was due to her lost love.
