On the Train bit..
Siobahn maneuvered through the crowds of families and hefted Pabu's carrier cage up high so not to bump it into someone and startle the poor Jarvey as she stepped onto the train. Her sharp green eyes shrewdly passed over the kids in the first car and frowned. Jacques wasn't there. She pushed her way past the kids talking excitedly and pushed by to go back to the private compartments to see if he'd found a quieter spot for them to sit. The two of them had been writing to each other over the holiday and she couldn't wait to actually talk to him for a change. Three months was a long time to not talk to your best friend. In time Siobahn hoped that perhaps they might become something more than that, but for now, she was happy to have a friend. "Jacques!" She called seeing the boy's familiar blue eyes and black hair. She couldn't help but think of how dashing he looked in his new dress robes. It also looked like he had gained a few more inches on her over the summer. She smiled as she walked up to him and glanced up at him. "You've grown."

Jacques blinked and glanced at Siobahn and smiled lightly at the sight of the familiar Hufflepuff. " Hi Sio!" He said excitedly before jumping off his seat and greeting her with a warm hug. He bent to say hello to Pabu. Before standing upright again "haven't really grown that much just a 3 or 4 inches" he told her. "Your summer sounded like it was exciting, or at least from what you've written me over the summer holiday," he said "You should come visit me one summer and we can go out and do stuff" he said told her with a smile, giving Cinnamon a pat.

Siobahn grinned wider when he slipped his arms around her and gave her a warm hug. She hugged him with her one free arm and sighed happily. "Hi, Jacques." She said with a big smile. She watched him say hello to Pabu and moved to set the cage down on the seat. "Well I haven't grown at all, so you look a lot taller to me." She said with a bit of a sigh. "I hope I grow eventually. Though if my grandmother is any indicator of how I'll grow then that doesn't give me much hope. She's only five inches taller than I am!" She moved to set her bag on the seat and smiled at Cinnamon. "It was a lot of fun. Granddad took me to some really great places over the summer. I wasn't sure what he had planned, but seeing Ireland was loads of fun. I think he's planning on taking me and my Gran to China for the Christmas holiday. Oh, I'd love that! I'm sure Gran would be okay with that. I'll ask her. " She replied back moving to sit on the bench seat. Her legs were still too short to touch the ground. "Maybe I should have thought to bring a stool." She said watching her dangling feet. "Oh was your Cousin Trevor going to join us on the ride later? It sounded like you and he had a rather exciting summer as well."

Jacques shrugged his shoulders "I'm not sure, but probably not since I was hoping to just sit with you during the ride so we can talk and catch up and what not" he admitted "But, I suppose I can ask him and see if he wants to" he told her and feeds Cinnamon a treat and glances at Sio with his blue eyes "Well, I'm sure you will grow soon, I wouldn't be too worried, we all grow at some point." He answered.

Siobahn's face went a bit pink at his words. She couldn't help but feel happy that he wanted to spend the ride with her. "Okay," She said grinning at him. "I'm good with that. I wasn't sure if he'd have other people to hang out with or not. I know what it's like to feel left out. Last year was a bit nerve wracking on the train. This year's even better cause I have you to hang out with." she added with a happy smile. She watched him feed his cat some treats. "If Pabu wouldn't try and run off I could let him out of his cage," She said glancing at her jarvey for a moment. "I don't think I'll chance it though. The stinker led me on a merry chase all summer." She said sticking her tongue out at the jarvey. Pabu immediately stuck his tongue out at her and blew a raspberry and swore some choice swear words making her giggle. "You have such a potty mouth Pabu." She shrugged at Jacques' words. "Thanks. I think though it's going to be awhile. I'll try not to worry about it too much. Short people have an easier time of hiding."

"Tall people, on the other hand, do not have the luxury of hiding, because we are usually easy to spot in a crowd" he said and frowned afraid that this would be the same as last year where he was a target for Slytherins, but hopefully it would be different this year especially with Sio, she was also a target for Slytherin students so he would need to be extra vigilant to make sure she didn't get picked on during the year. He had every intention to make sure that she wasn't.

Siobahn nodded and her mind went back to the previous year when she had been chased down by Slytherins and the two of them had met. "Yeah, that is true. Let's hope we don't get any Slytherins stalking us this year. If they do, we'll just have to stick together to keep them from picking on us. At least you're taller now, that might deter them a bit." She replied. "Oh, want to try some candy I got in Ireland? It's pretty good," She said pulling out a tin from her bag.

Jacques nodded his head agreeing with her "I'm hoping we don't, I don't want another year where we are a target for Slytherin students" he said. Mind you his cousin was also a Slytherin but one of the few good Slytherins, he was dreading the start of the school year but he was pretty sure it would be a good one, especially it meant that he could hang out with Sio and do homework with her and walk her to class. "Let's hope, it does but I'm not going to get my hopes up, that just might give them another reason to tease me," he said letting out a sigh.

"It would be nice if they could just leave us alone," She agreed. "I kind of doubt they'll do that though. Maybe we should find some other people and make a group. If there are more of us there's a less likely chance of them coming after us." She said thoughtfully. "I think you look quite dashing," She said smiling at him. "They should really find out better things to do with their time."
She opened the tin and held it out to him. "Want to try a piece?"

" I wish they would too" he told her with a small sigh and glanced at her soft features before blushing a bit as she commented that he was dashing "thanks, you are just as lovely" he told her before shaking his head a little at her offer to let me try her candy " no, thanks. I'm okay for now but perhaps later" he answered.

Siobahn nodded. Life would be so much easier if the Slytherins would just find better things to do with their spare time. She noticed his blushing at her compliment and blushed back at his own to her. "Thank you Jacques," She said ducking her head with a wide smile. She closed her tin and smiled at him. "All right, later then." She said putting it back away. "So is there anything else you want to talk about?" She asked.

Jacques pondered for a bit before speaking up " well, I'm hoping that we are in the same classes because last year we weren't, even though I did quite enjoy waiting for you outside your classes, mind you I was nervous as hell when I was" he admitted to her. "At least if we are in the same classes this year we can stick together and get through the year together, that is if want to. You don't necessarily have to" he told her suddenly feeling sheepish around her. He wondered what was going on with him, he hadn't felt like this for anyone before, it was new, different and refreshing. He glanced downwards at his feet.

Siobahn waited patiently while he thought of what to say. She was playing with her braided pigtail when he finally spoke. She smiled. "I hope so too. Oh this year we don't have broom flying lessons, which I'll miss. Even If we aren't in all the same classes I would like that." She said smiling a bit shyly at him. "I always did look forwards to seeing you after class got out every day. I would like to do that again, we can even study together," She suggested still playing with her pigtail. She bit her lip and swung her feet back and forth. The butterflies in her stomach were rolling around again, she normally got these when she thought of Jacques and she didn't know why. "Umm so do you have your schedule? we could figure out if it'll work this year," She suggested looking up at him with a small smile

Jacques smiled lightly to himself before mustering up the courage to look at her face "I think that is a good idea. We can be the inseparable duo" he said excitedly. He pondered a bit, had he gotten his schedule yet, he wasn't entirely sure if he had. "I think so, not sure though" he answered as he started rifling through his bag for his class schedule, now where did he put it. If his thought process was right he had put it in with all the important pieces of paper for school. After a bit, he pulled it out "ah ha! Found it!" He said handing her the piece of paper, his hand lightly brushing against hers.

Siobahn smiled at him even wider when he called them the inseparable duo. "We'll have to come up with a cool nickname or something." She giggled back. She moved to pull her schedule out of her satchel and waited for him to find his own. She took the offered paper blushing a little when his hand brushed her own and compared them. "hmm..looks like we do have a few classes together this semester, though not all of them. We can make it work though." She said and moved to sit over next to him to show him. "At least we only have core classes still, though we have to pick elective courses for next year. Oh, if we like similar ones we can look those over and pick the same ones. We might be able to share those." She suggested smiling up at him.

Jacques moved over a little on the bench so Sio could sit beside him, he looked at her schedule to his. "Hmm, well core classes is better than not having any classes together. As for the electives I'm sure we will figure out which ones we want" he told her as he tried to keep his heartbeat as normal as possible but, with Sio sitting beside him it just made his heart race. " if not we still have the weekends together too" he told her. He set his schedule down and looked through his bag, he had decided to buy her a small gift over the summer and he was hoping he had packed it.

Siobahn nodded at him. "Looks like we have Herbology together on Tuesday and Wednesday, so that will be fun. And Care of Magical creatures together on Thursday and Monday. Oh and we can eat lunch together. We don't have to sit at our own tables all the time." She replied with a small smile. Her stomach was getting all tied up just being close to him, she bit her lip a bit as he spoke. "The weekends will be fun, even if we can't go off of the school grounds. We can spend a lot of time together." She said feeling really excited and remembered something she had found on her trip that she had wanted to give him. Now was the perfect moment. She stood up to grab her bag and sat back down and sorted through the small bags that she used to organize her things. She pulled out a green bag and held onto it waiting until he was down looking through his bag. "I-I got you something." She said a bit shyly, wondering what he would think of it.

Jacques nodded his head "it looks like it, we can meet up somewhere and we can walk to those classes together, only if you want to it's not necessary" he quickly told her, he didn't want to seem like he was forcing her to do what he asked. He smiled at the thought of having lunch with her every single day. He searched through his bag and finally found a small red box "I got you something too, over the summer just because I missed you and couldn't wait to see you again" he said excitedly before opening the box and showing her a gold bracelet with the Hufflepuff insignia and her name engraved on the inside of the gold band. "I hope you like it," he said to her with a smile and brief peck on her cheek.

Siobahn leaned in closer to listen to him as he spoke. She merely smiled at his suggestion. "I'd love that." She assured him. "Oh!" she said her eyes widening at his sweet words and leaned closer to watch as he opened the box to show her the bracelet. "It's so beautiful, I love it!" She replied and blushed as he pecked her cheek. She took the bracelet and looked it over with shining eyes. Then she pushed up her sleeve so she could put it on and look at it on her wrist. 'It's the best present I've ever gotten," She said beaming and took her turn to open the bag and pull out a pendant that had a very detailed Celtic knot on it that looked like a lion's head. "I saw this and thought of you, I don't know if you wear necklaces or not, but I figured you could find some way of using it." She said handing it to him.

Jacques grinned lightly glad she liked what he had gotten her "I'm so glad you like it, I was a little worried you wouldn't so it's a relief to know you do," he told her and smiled as she took the bracelet he closed the box and set it in his lap. He glanced at the pendant in his hand and smiled at her "thank you! I will treasure it forever." He told her and put it around his neck right away, he studied it, it was a very intricate design which he liked and the fact that the Celtic knot looked like a lion's head made it more awesome. He vowed silently to himself that he would never take it off, especially when it came from someone he was starting to really care deeply about.

Siobahn moved to put a hand over his. "You shouldn't have worried Jacques," She said smiling sweetly at him. "I'd love anything you gave me because it was from your heart." She smiled, even more, when he looked over the pendant. "I'm glad to hear that." She told him. She felt like she had been smiling for the past hour because she had been smiling so much. Then again she had felt like this last year as well whenever she was around Jacques. She grinned when he put it around his neck right away and watched as he studied it closely. "It was hidden under a pile of necklaces in the shop I went into, I think the shop owner got a bit miffed because I had him pull all of them out so I could look at them." She said with a small laugh. She realized then that her hand was resting on his leg and flushed as she pulled her hand away.

User Image Siobahn was rather glad that as a second year she didn't have to go through the sorting this year. It meant that after dinner she didn't have to go straight to the dorm room either. She got up after the meal had concluded and searched the crowd of dispersing Gryffindor students for Jacques. After a few moments she spotted him and waved at him. "Hey over here!" She called and moved through the crowd to reach him.

When she finally got to his side she smiled up at him. "So now that we're done with dinner, want to find something to do before curfew is enforced?" She asked with a smile.

Her hand moved over the bracelet on her other wrist playing with the bracelet that Jacques has given her earlier that day. She had the feeling that she'd be wearing it everyday.

Jacques finished off his own meal at the Gryffindor table. That was definitely a down side to being in a different house then Sio, they would have to plan out their outings accordingly since they were separated by their houses that they had been sorted into during first year. That was really the only thing that brought him down, so essentially the only time he would see her was during supper and if they were lucky a few of their classes.

He nodded his head once Sio appeared beside him "Sure, why not!" he answered shrugging a little. Hearing some whispers from his fellow housemates teasing him about Sio being his girl friend. He shook his head lightly ignoring the whispers and glanced at Sio. "where should we go?" he asked her tilting his head to the side.

Siobahn smiled up at Jacques her green eyes twinkling happily. She glanced behind her at the boys that started whispering and teasing him. Her face reddened slightly at what they were saying and she sighed. What was it about boys that they had to be so, so mean?

She blinked as she considered his question. "Far far away from those housemates of yours," She whispered back. "We could go to the library I guess.
Or maybe we could just wander the castle and do some exploring." She added with a smile. "There's still a lot left to discover."

Jacques took a breath to calm himself down from wanting to hit those kids in the face. His parents raised him better then that and always told him not to sink down to the same level as bullies. Who didn't have anything else to do with their free time but tease others. He nodded his head agreeing with Sio "I agree, or at least for the time being anyway. I'm going to be running into them at the dorms anyway. My parents always told me, not to sink down to the level of bullies" he told her.

He took her hand and started to walk away "I think we should explore the castle some more. I'm pretty certain there are still secrets to discover to here" he told her.

Siobahn heard Jacques' intake of breath and glanced up at him and then back to the kids who had been making fun of them. She nodded at his words.
"Your parents were right," She agreed softly. "Just because they choose to treat you in a mean way doesn't mean you should pay any attention to it. I've realized the more attention you give bullies the more power you give them over you"

She smiled when he took her hand and followed him out of the Great Hall. She felt a thrill of happiness go through her at getting to be close to him and that he was holding her hand. "That would be fun," She agreed. "There's always plenty of secrets and new things to discover in the castle. Where do you want to start?"

Jacques glanced at Sio "please try not to let them teasing me bother you too much." he told her as they walked away. "I'm use to it, I got a lot of it during first year as well, but then again my cousin Trevor was there to defend me, but now I need to learn to handle bullies on my own" he told her thoughtfully thinking back on how Trevor, defended him fro, bullies back then he was eternally grateful, but now that he was a second year he came to terms with himself that he needed to learn to deal with bullies himself.

He continued to ignore what his fellow housemates were saying as he figured out which direction to explore first with Sio, time he was admittedly looking forward to, because something about Sio made him want to get to know her more and spend more time with her.

Siobahn bit on her lip a little then let out a breath. "Okay," She agreed though she was a bit annoyed that his own housemates were treating him so badly. "It sounds like you need to find other kids to hang out with. Like we learned last year, sticking together helped a great deal. The more of us that are together the less chance any of us will be bothered by bullies."

She did think it was rather smart of him to want to deal with and handle the bullies on his own. It rather impressed her in a way. Still, she'd hate to find him with a black eye or worse. Some kids tended to get violent. Bullies especially.

"Just be careful," She said squeezing his hand.

They walked around as they tried to figure out where to explore first. She was just glad to get away from the annoying housemates that had been making fun of them.

"Okay, how about the fourth floor? I've only been up there once or twice. There's a lot of doors up there that are unlocked or so I've heard." She finally suggested.

Jacques nodded his head ”it looks like I do” he answered nodding his head ”But, I’m more focused on catching up with you right now, instead of what my housemates are teasing me about” he told her lightly nodding his head. ”so I’m not too worried about what they are saying at the moment” he assured her patting her forearm lightly with his free hand.

”I promise I will be careful this year” he told her lifting her hand up lightly and kissing the back of it gently. ”I have something to live and protect for” he told her.

Siobahn hoped that it wouldn't be hard for Jacques to make some new friends. She remembered some interesting hufflepuff boys that had been sitting around her that seemed nice enough. Perhaps she could see if they'd be up to getting to know Jacques better? It would probably be a bit weird if she were to set him up with other guys. Or maybe it wouldn't?

"Well good, what do you want to know? Ask away." She said leaning into him a bit. "So, I had a thought, I'm not sure how you'd feel about it though." She glanced down at him patting her arm and smiled. It was kind of cute how he was trying to reassure her. "There were some interesting guys in my house that I think you might find fun to hang out with. I could introduce you to them."

"Good," She said and then giggled when he lifted her hand and kissed it. "You're so sweet," She added her cheeks going bright pink. "I'm glad we met."

She led him down the hallways and towards the staircases that lead up to the second floor.
PostPosted: Mon Oct 09, 2017 8:48 pm

Jacques swung their hands back and forth, he pondered over what to do with his situation. He was pretty certain the bullies would back off as the years went through, but it just seemed to him they would never grow out of that. He wondered what would cause them to bully other people. Was it because he was different? If that was the case he wasn’t entirely sure what was different about him from other Gryffindor boys. The thought made him frown a bit, but he had told Sio he would worry about them later. He would end up seeing them in their dorm anyway.

”Other then travelling with your grandparents, what else did you do during the summer? Anything exciting happen? Did you miss school or umm..me for that matter?” he asked her tilting his head to the side a bit. He grinned at her ”I’m glad we met too, even though it sorta started out as a fake relationship” he said, because it was true they did start out as a fake relationship since Sio was also being bullied at the time.

He let her lead him through the hallways and towards the stairs to the second floor. He hummed lightly to himself as they walked. He considered the thought about hanging out with hufflepuff boys, he frowned that would give the other Gryffindor boys more ammo to tease him with. ”I feel like that would give the current bullies, more reason to bully me more” he told her frowning a bit.

Siobahn thought over his questions. "Other than traveling, I spent most of my time learning how to cook from my grandmother. We're slowly learning how to cook different kinds of foods. So far we've gotten through italian food, and some spanish food. We're going to pick up during winter vacation and learn to do some french cooking."

"I had an escape scare with Pabu again, though this time he got into my neighbor's yard and was terrorizing their dog." She said with a laugh. "I managed to get him back inside before anyone heard or saw him. He's such a stinker."

She smiled at his question about her missing school or him. "Oh I missed school quite a bit. Especially History of magic," She teased. It was actually one of her most dreaded classes. "Silly boy, of course I missed you! I missed you quite a bit. We should write each other over the winter break. I wonder..if one year we could spend part of the winter break or summer break together." She mused.

Siobahn nodded at him. "Yeah, at least it's not a fake relationship now." She said with a happy smile. "You were a true white knight for me back then."

Siobahnn wasn't too surprised when Jacques pointed out that the bullies would only have more ammo against him if he did hang out with them. "Well then I hope they stop being idiots and grow out of this bullying phase of theirs." She said shaking her head.

They walked up the staircase and made it to the second floor landing and moved towards the second staircase. Siobahn slowed and eyed it cautiously. "These moving staircases are kind of annoying," She said and tentatively got onto the staircase hoping it wouldn't move on them.

PostPosted: Mon Oct 09, 2017 10:22 pm

Jacques nodded his head listening attentively to Sio as she spoke ”That almost sounds like it was a blast to do” he told her and nodded his head ”you, know with you learning to cook you would be a good wife for anyone in the future he told her flushing a little as he said it, technically he was secretly hoping she would be his wife in the future, but Sio may not want that. ”I would like to try your cooking one day” he told her with a smile.

”Well, i’m Sure Pabu meant no harm. He is just the very friendly and exciting little fella and likes making new friends” he assured her. He was half expecting Cinnamon and Pabu not to get along, but the way they acted around each other was different. He wasn’t certain what Cinnamon thought of Pabu and what Pabu thought of CInnamon, he did not speak to animals.

He thought about it ”I mean we could attempt to, with the next one that is coming up. I’m not certain how well it will go, or we could wait a bit. I don’t think we are that serious yet...” he said trailing off hoping not to hurt her feelings. He wasn’t certain where they stood in their relationship. Was it serious? Or was it more of like still in the butterfly phase. The thought never occurred to him.

He glanced at her as she led them towards the second staircase ”Well, look on the bright side if they do move on us, i will be here to catch you so you don’t lose your balance and fall” he told her using his free hand and lightly placing it around her waist just in case she does lose her balance. He was secretly hoping she didn’t mind the fact that his hand was on her waist.

Siobahn smiled up at his words and nodded. She covered her mouth to hid a giggle. "That was actually my grandmother's intention. She says if I can cook anything, I'll find a great husband one day." She glanced up at him and noticed he was flushing. "Well I'm sure one day I will be able to cook for you. I kind of was thinking of you when I was cooking, wondering what you'd think of what we made." She admitted blushing a bit.

If she were completely honest, she had thought of him a great deal. Pretty much almost every day.

Siobahn nodded at Jacques saying that Pabu hadn't meant any harm. "Yeah he probably just wants a friend. Maybe you can help me find him one?" She asked looking at him.

She couldn't help but get a bit excited about his saying they should attempt it with the next holiday. She could understand that he wanted to wait and see how serious they would be first. "Oh don't worry, I didn't mean right away. I'm sure my grandma would freak out if she thought I was serious about someone already. Though I don't think I'll ever find anyone I like as much as I like you." She admitted.

Siobahn couldn't help but smile at his promise to catch her. She felt her face go a bit pink at his moving in closer and laying his hand on her waist. A thrill went through her at his touch and she let out a soft sigh. "That is a good thing," She replied softly. She moved slightly to lean against him. She rather liked that he was taller than her.

Jacques nodded his head as he listened to her talk "Well, she is smart to start you cooking at a young age. At least then as you grow you can develop your skills some more so you are better at it when you reach adulthood" he told her tilting his head to the side a bit. He flushed a little as she mentioned that she was thinking about him as she cooked. "Well, I'm flattered and would love to taste what you cook" he said nodding his head.

"Perhaps, I can find friend for him" he told her, he thought about it. As far as he was concerned the animal menagerie had just recently acquired a phoenix and a Jarvy like Pabu. " Perhaps I might have one" he told her but he needed to double check. He was pretty sure the animal menagerie had Argyros who belonged to destiny and Cinnamon who belonged to him. Perhaps he should grow up and become a animal caregiver.

Siobahn glanced up at Jacques when he spoke, feeling a bit sad knowing why her grandmother was teaching her. She wasn't getting any younger and it was likely that her grandmother might not see her graduate from Hogwarts. The thought made her rather sad to think it. Unlike her grandfather, her grandmother wasn't from a wizarding family and wasn't likely to live as long as he would.

She shook her head out of such thoughts and forced a smile on her face. "She wants to make sure I have plenty of time to become a very skilled cook," She explained. "I do have a pretty good nack for it so far. So that's helpful." She added.

"I am sure we can arrange something in the future." She said winking at him. "I'm sure one summer we could work out a way to visit one another." She added feeling excited at the prospect of something like that happening.

"Oh really? That would be good! Pabu could use a friend." She exclaimed happily. "I bet that's exactly what he needs. A friend to help distract him."

She got a thoughtful look on her face. "You seem to like animals a lot, have you thought of being an animal caregiver?" She asked. "I think it would be a good job to look into."
