In the aftermath of the battle Cami had curled up in a corner for a long time beneath the flashing lights of The Dusk, hiding, hoping that no one else with her face would come out and bother her. Eventually her crying subsided enough that the lights were no longer bokeh blurs in front of her but solid things again, things that would banish the larger shadows.
Kidana had a glow about her from the runes that were etched into her purple surface but that light was dim at best. It kept her from being completely in the dark which was good. But it wasn't as bright as, say, that streetlight. "Do you know much about chemistry things, Ki?"
'I doubt I know anything about making neon lights work without their power source. That's a very human thing, you know. And I'm not human.' Kidana was consistently irritated that she had remind her young charge that she was not human. She could not fathom that she had ever been human. She was a revenant, a scrap of some anger left behind when things went horribly wrong, but being human herself? No. Never happened.
That left the brunette in a bind. She didn't know if she could make the light keep glowing when she'd removed it from the building it was attached to. She didn't want to venture out into the darkness on her own. So there was a choice to be made and choices were just not something that she felt entirely equipped to make.
With a great sigh and a few more tears, of fear and frustration, Camille curled back into her corner to wait.
