xxxxxxx ✦He loves cats is the worst at keeping that a secret. xxxxxxx ✦He always seems to be in some form of formal wear or another. xxxxxxx ✦Damien listens to what others consider angry music despite never raising his voice. xxxxxxx ✦He has a talent for drawing. xxxxxxx ✦He can sit in silence for hours at a time. xxxxxxx ✦Whenever he's really stressed out, you might find Damien just soaking in a bath and ignoring the rest of the world.
xxxxxxx ✦Despite the fact that he never talks about her, he sends money back to his mother whenever he's able. In fact, he has never talked about his personal life besides off-handed comments; not even when directly asked. xxxxxxx ✦Given his upbringing, he doesn't view sex as a sacred act. However if there's any hint of it being a form of transaction (even normal social standards like buying or making him breakfast in the morning), he will lose any and all sense of attachment to the person as he mentally shifts them into a client.
xxxxxxx ✦Damien did not start off in a bad life. In fact, as a young child he had everything he wanted. What he didn't know back then was that his mother had been a whore who had been entertaining a rich, older man for a month. At the end of the month she had taken a pregnancy test to find out that she was actually pregnant. The man kept her around out of a sense of responsibility for the child which was why Damien's first few years of life were worry-free. However, his father (if he really was the father) was an elderly man. He died shortly after Damien was eight years old. Upon his death the man's wife kicked him and his mother out into the streets with a small "severance" package for "services" rendered.
Damien's mother, Wynona, used the money to buy a small house in a relatively decent neighborhood. They were able to live a year with no trouble. In that time his mother made no attempts to get another job and as such, after that year, things got a lot tighter. Until finally the money was gone. His mother took out a loan against the house and then another until there was no way she could keep it. The house was repossessed and they were left out on the streets with enough money to stay in a run down hotel for a week. That's when his mother got back to work...on the streets and between the sheets.
Damien stayed in the bathroom with his headphones on and music turned up as loud as he could stand while his mother 'worked' to provide for them. Night after night she sold her body and saved up whatever money could be earned. They moved into a slightly better hotel but that work still continued. When he was ten years old, however, there was a mishap. As he was trying to change out the CDs in his player, he heard his mother laugh. She continued to laugh for a moment until suddenly he heard her get hit. It didn't end at that either; Damien came out to see that a large man had his mother by the neck even though it looked like she'd already passed out.
Damien rushed at the man, jumping over the extra bed without even thinking about it, and pushed at him. Despite the man's large size, the ten year old was easily able to push him away from his mother. The man's pride and anger reared up and he tried to attack the boy. Damien took a hit to the face but stayed standing up despite the red mark on his cheek. His mother woke up the moment that Damien was about to get hit one more time and pleaded for the client to stop, that everything was on the house. Already feeling humiliated the man hit her once more. This in turn sparked Damien's anger. He wrapped his hands around the man's large throat and started to squeeze. No matter what the man did, Damien held on until he the man stopped struggling. With panicked fingers, Wynona checked for signs of life but found none - which was a mistake on her part as the man was very much alive and had just passed out.
As quickly as she could Wynona packed up hers and her son's things, grabbed his hand and ran out of the hotel. He remembers how they bounced from disreputable house to disreputable house for a year. Then finally they found a stable one...sort of. They rented a room with services rendered. While he wasn't in school he worked to help make sure that the working girls had everything they needed - he did the laundry, bought things at the store for them, and even helped them clean up if they were too strung out to do it themselves. His mother got addicted to drugs at this house as well in a way to cope with the injustice of the world (or so she said). Every time he would ask why they couldn't get a place of their own again she'd tell him it was because of the man he killed - they couldn't do anything like that. It wasn't until later that he realized she hid something from him for the simple fact that he had kept going to school...under his real name...
Regardless, they stayed there for two years without too much of an issue. He had even begun to think of some of the woman there fondly; saw their good traits when they weren't so spun that they saw stars. Unfortunately as he started to see all the good traits and learn to accept everything that was going on, the lady of the house saw some of his good traits. He didn't tire out from all the physical work that he did around the house. He could pick up two or three of her girls at a time if needed. Sure they were barely 115 pounds soaking wet due to the drugs and malnutrition but that was still quite a feat for a thirteen year old. It didn't hurt that he was actually growing into quite a handsome face either. A few weeks after his thirteenth birthday when his mom was higher than a kite, a man and a woman entered into the windowless room with the Lady of the house. She had sold him just as she did with any other 'employee' in her care.
At the end of the night, Damien faced the world with what dignity he could. It helped that the man and woman left quite the sum of money in his hands. It was enough that he realized he could save up and buy their 'freedom'. He swallowed his pride and talked with the Lady of the house when his mother was asleep. He'd work with no complaints as long as it wasn't another man - unless it was an absurd amount of money. Each client seemed to pay less and less as the Madam took more and more the older he got. He was in Sophmore year of high school when he finally saved up enough money to buy a small studio apartment out right. The moment he could he checked his mom into a rehab clinic and picked up odd construction or other physical laboring jobs to keep them in the studio.
After three months of living like this, he found out that a private firm had been trying to contact him and his mom for the last year. The man he had known as Father had left something in his will that his wife had purposefully neglected to tell them; all his funds and his company went to his heirs upon his death. Which meant that he was supposed to have split these assets with his half-sister, not have been thrown out of the house with a stipend. Damien accepted the money but took no part in running the business, leaving that to men who knew how to do that much more than he ever would. However, he did use the funds to get them into a much better house and to make sure that his mother stayed clean. He might have disliked her for all the choices she made but she had never raised her hand to him, forced him into service, got him on drugs, or let him go hungry. For that he made sure that she wouldn't have to work again.
Once everything was situated, Damien graduated from High School and looked into what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. All his dreams as a child seemed so silly and unrealistic, even if he'd regained the financial backing to do as he wanted. However, he did want to prove that he was worth more. It was a general sensation that drove him to applying to and being accepted into one of the most prestigious universities that he could think of. Sadly after the first year and the second year passed and he still couldn't get inspiration or any insight on what he wanted to do when this was all said and done, Damien became very disillusioned with the whole concept of the school. Despite that, he'd made a commitment to do what his mother had never done and stick it through. At the very least it's his stubborn resilience that got him this far and he's determined to at least graduate from the institution.
Advanced Physiology - This super power permanently enhanced all of his physical functions to the peak of human potential.
xxxxxxx ✦Max Strengths - He is limited due to the amount of muscle mass he possesses. Currently, Damien is able to consistently bench press around five hundred pounds. His max bench press would be around 800 pounds. The strength also extends to his legs which allows him to leap around fifteen feet (20 feet if he ever gains more muscle mass) with no running start and around ten feet directly up. xxxxxxx ✦Max Speeds - Damien is able to sustain a peak speed up to 30mph. In extreme circumstances he may attain speeds up to 60 mph which can not be sustained for more than two minutes currently. xxxxxxx ✦Durability - His bones and muscles are harder and denser than the average human being, which is what allows him to live as much weight and take the impact force of his landings without damaging his body. xxxxxxx ✦Agility - His agility is just a little under that of an Olympic athlete. He can coordinate his body with balance, flexibility, and dexterity. xxxxxxx ✦Reflexes - His reflexes are high so that when he's aware of something coming at him, he is able to dodge most projectiles. He hasn't gotten to the level of dodging bullets yet, however. xxxxxxx ✦Stamina - Damien's body eliminates the excessive buildup of fatigue-producing chemicals in his muscles, granting him exceptional endurance and lung capacity. He can exert himself at peak capacity for a half an hour without any rest and before showing any signs of fatigue. This may increase up to a max of an hour as he builds up his own tolerance level as he ages.
xxxxxxx ✦Healing - Unlike what is expected, Damien possesses no extraordinary ability to heal. The closest he comes is recovering from physical fatigue quicker but that does not help him heal from wounds such as bruises, cuts, broken bones or more severe damage. He is also just as liable to get sick as any other healthy human being out there.
xxxxxxx ✦Immunity - He has no immunity to things such as gasses, poisons, or many other substances which could be used inside and outside of battle.
xxxxxxx ✦Ranged Attacks - Unless he's able to pick something up and fling it, Damien has no way to go on the offensive in a long ranged or even a medium fight.
xxxxxxx ✦Overexertion - Unless he knows the exact weight of an object, Damien is actually liable to rip muscles. Normally microtears are good but in his case a miscalculation can occur on the hundred pound scale. At this point it's no longer micro-tears but an issue which would require downtime to heal.
xxxxxxx ✦Perception - Despite having superhuman physical abilities, Damien is at the same level of perception as anyone else. If he doesn't see that it's coming then he's unable to react to it. This also means that his reaction time is based on what he sees in his immediate surroundings just the same as anyone without sensory or perceptual abilities.
xxxxxxx ✦Elements and Energy Attacks - He is subject to be hurt or affected by many natural or super-natural attacks the same as everyone else. His skin really is no different from the average human and he would still suffer the same as any other person if struck by lightning, for example.
xxxxxxx ✦Durability - His durability is relative to his own levels. Just like him it has limits as he's not able to endure more damage than he himself would put on his own body. If something or someone were to hit him with around the same amount of force that he can exert, he suffers the hit on the same level as though one person hit another person. His relative durability does not stop him from being hurt by something at the same physical level he is - it is just a reflection on the fact that his body can sustain his powers and not be damaged by the use of him at his average capacity.
xxxxxxx ✦Motivation - simply put...he has none. It would be much fairer to say that he has little motivation. Over the years he has become disillusioned with the whole concept of heroic acts and as such hasn't tried to raise the bar for himself. Without a high motivation he is unlikely to try to reach his limits or try to raise them. In a sense he's his own worst enemy when it comes to power growth. He has been resting on his previous merits since his first year at the Academy.
• DESCRIPTION ⇢ There's almost a silent understanding between the two of us as we recognize something in one another. I don't exactly know what he's been through in his life and I don't want to ask. It's enough to know that he's not had the easiest of pasts. It also helps that he's not very loud so he makes better company than most. Though I don't think I'll ever understand the drive he still has to prove himself in this school.
• DESCRIPTION ⇢ It started off over a bottle of liquor and it's grown from there. Sort of. For the most part we don't talk in public or really talk about anything very personal. We sit and drink together. I know one thing about her for sure. The girl can't hold her alcohol. But that's okay because it's not like we drink at a frat party where she has to worry about her drink getting spiked.
• DESCRIPTION ⇢ She and I share a fascination for old horror movies. It doesn't matter if either of us have seen it multiple times already - they are still a favorite past time. I believe the fact that I don't care if she nibbles on my arm may also play a role as to why the tentative friendship works. Nor does it hurt that I believe she has developed a fondness for me beyond the scope of movie night buddies.
