A hiss escaped his throat as he looked at the figure he had once seen in the mirror at Dusk, it was the creature the thing he had become earlier. It glittered with gold as jewelry that hung on its thin emancipated frame as it held something crude for a weapon in its hand prepared to defend itself. At least this would be easy considering how much Matt loathed the beast, even if it was him in some sort of strange other universe he was more than happy to dispose of it.
He lunged forward with no hesitation striking the creature sharply along its ribs barely even noticing the gazing blow the beast returned.

It continued to lurch forward, almost unfazed to the damage that Matt had caused it as he swung again finding that he had only made a faint scratch along it’s chest as it dodged him easily. Matt hissed under his breath as the beast lurched moving with an almost unnatural speed towards his unprotected side again, he had to at least admit that it was somewhat intelligent.

The pain was almost nothing and even if it did bother him Matt didn’t let it show as he took a few steps away from the creature. There had to be a better way, someway of dealing with it other than just gazing it occasionally as it struck him.

He waited until the creature was close, close enough that when it buried the crude weapon into Matt’s bare shoulder that he jammed the spear end into its unprotected chest. The beast howled as it stumbled back a look of awe on its face.

Matt didn’t wait, he summoned the energy letting the throb of lightning rumble along the spear as he struck the beast swiftly. It howled again before dissipating into nothingness leaving the hunter alone in silence.
