The vast city stretching for miles in every direction, Halbrook is the stronghold of the Vics and those they choose to keep amongst them such as the Baris and Auf. Carmine's castle dominates the smaller buildings surrounding it, and it makes all those have to look up and understand her power she holds them in. In the center of the country, it is the most defensive area, and the order in the city has no equal. Crime does happen, but it is not so out of hand such as the Teteto territory and onward. Missions of peace happen here weekly, and there is great power that surrounds all those here. Harmony, simply put, runs deep in this city.

There were many people running about, trying to get whatever their master's had ordered no doubt, and it was a surprise none ran into each other. Lamps dotted the streets so that said slaves could see as they carried on their daily lists, and while they were lost on the ancient she was glad to see some care taken for those outside of vampire-kind.
The woman continued to walk onward, being disturbed by none as she finally came to the immaculate castle. Her full face lifted as if she was looking at the massive door, and yet as she blinked her eyes vibrant light and the cawing of birds overhead seemed to become apparent. Where before the sounds around the woman seemed awashed, distant, and faint now they were surrounding her in all of their glory. It was a simple ability the ancient used on occasion to bypass certain unwanted attention, and as she came out of her ability and back into the current stream of time, all others could see her again. She did hope that her close friend could feel her power and come open the door, for it was not in the ancient's nature to barge into somewhere she had not been thoroughly invited into. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Noisy they were, the queen and her children. It was always a burden of sorts on the ancient woman. Senses that stretched out over a kingdom, a nose that caught the tiniest scent, ears that heard the skittering of the insects. Her golden eyes staring up at the black stone that comprised her tomb like room where the shadow was vast. She refused to light the candles just yet, enjoying the cimmerian shroud as she enjoyed her silken sheets. This was the only time where she could see nothing, but feel everything. Depreciation of one of her greatest aspects in order to amplify another. How heavenly.
She laid like this for a moment before the feeling came. She smiled, her razor fangs noticeable even in this deep shadow. She rose from her sleeping place to the the cracks within this immaculate fortress meant to protect those who earned its throne and their offspring. She closed her eyes before raising she felt the plates on her skin, and inside they began to sharpen, poke and pierce her skin until the blood began to leak. The blood crawled over her form, tearing it down before she bean to seep into the walls, leaving her forbidden tomb. She moved through the castle walls until she reached the outside.
She began to seep out, bit by bit, swirling about the albino waiting for its doors to open before it began to take shape, a red figure with arms around its comparatively smaller targets before it hardened. It formed skin, plate, metal, fangs and hair before she was once again complete. She tightened her hold "Well well well, it appears I've gotten a visitor." the words slithering out between her lips "To what do I owe this visit Mistress of Time?" she brushed her fangs across the other ascendants skin a small smile upon her face. <<Location: Castle Gates || Thoughts: Ah my pet! || Mood: Safe >> ══════════════════

As she stood there, looking straight ahead, she could feel the slaves still bustling about below the castle and inside of it. Her mind slid inside of the walls, her dead eyes mapping the area with ease. It was like if someone could see with echolocation, pulses here and there to chart the area out for her. Just as something slipped through the walls, her mind's eye found the bowels of the castle and a very intricate room. She was caught off guard as her senses felt the sting of a blade, her "eyes" turning upward to watch a slave die by the hands of a girl. It made the ancient c**k her head, a small dissatisfied frown came from her, and she sighed slightly. It was not her place, though she did not wish to see slaves die around her. Then again, she reasoned, that was all Thentis was really known for sometimes.
Her attention turned to her side, just as a lurid liquid began seeping out of the walls. The ancient did nothing as it surrounded her, a light smile creeping onto her face. Air left her lips as she was hugged, and she giggled lightly. With the likewise ascendant's height, it was easy for the woman to bend down without being impeded by the bracer to gently brush fangs over neck and like skin. The hold had been deeply missed and wanted, and the ancient looked up with her dead eyes as much as she could from being embraced.
"I was just feeling a bit lonely," she admitted. "I wanted to see you again to pull you out of your tomb. It's not good for the mind to stay down there, or in this castle for long, dear." The ancient was tiny, small like a child, and yet her words marked her as old. It was something in her voice, as if she had seen, or done, or was for so much longer. "Does the queen still distrust my presence here? You would expect after last time if she wasn't turned to dust she would be more understanding.."
Truth be told the last time Netami had come to Thentis, it was not received very well. Carmine had just overthrown her husband, and the entire city was looking forward to change. This, of course, was most of the Jiang that didn't have the knowledge to run were drawn and quartered in the square, and the Auf claiming for the citizens to join in for the gods demanded it. Netami didn't take all of that very well, though she said or did nothing towards stopping it, but the queen did not see it as fortuitous for an outsider to be there on her day of ascension. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Flora was fine with the stench of the place. It was a poisonous place, an abomination to ones sensibilities. It was a nice home for the woman who spent her life mired in such things. The vampire's senses were however overwhelmed by something just as familiar to her as the sickness that made itself known here. The lost idol that was her dear friend. Flora always loved her scent, a change from the blood that permeated these dead lands. Flora was just happy the smaller ancient came to visit her here, it prevented her from having to force herself to face the sun she so hated. She chuckled "Ah but my tomb is peaceful." she said keeping her close "It has everything I need, its not my fault some fool built his castle on top of it." she said letting her go for a moment as she began to pull open the enormous doors, making sure the mage was not in the way "The queen? Possibly, but as you are my guest she knows her place. She is still very much sore about that last meeting." she said looking at the grand hall which she walked through. She looked back "Come in come in. I shall make us tea, it is not every day you visit me my dear." she said letting the woman into the castle as she walked. The others in the castle, slave and vampire gave her quiet regards and moved out of fear. Flora was well known within this place of course as it was her home and she was just letting them live here, but she had caused her own share of terror within these walls. She looked back "So what have you been doing?" she asked her guess as she moved towards the kitchen to make them their usual tea. <<Location: Castle Gates || Thoughts: Ah my pet! || Mood: Safe >> ══════════════════

Ƞ ȩ ϯ α ɱ ɨ x†x м ι к ą є ℓ § σ η 【 Oméga Chrónos 】 ‖ Who: Calliope ‖ Where: Halbrook ‖ Thoughts: It smells surprisingly good in here... Or is that Calliope? ‖ Ambiance: End of Innocence ‖ Profile ‖ Mage Ascendant; age XxXxXxX ‖ --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Netami snickered and jittered her head from side to side, as much as she could with how close Calliope held her. It was a much needed change of pace from the woman getting high off carnage or blood, and even more so that she smelled delightful for one that was technically undead. Or were they alive, Netami pondered, she would certainly need to ask. They could bear children, they had bloodflow, so were they not alive? There had been too many different verses that overlapped in her mind, and she had not the time to ask which was the case in this one. Regardless, a frown pressed against her lips when her friend let her go.
Hopping to the side, seeming as if she floated for a moment, Netami looked inward though she could not see with her eyes. "Maybe you should have caused more commotion." Walking into the castle behind the vampire, she gave wide smiles to slaves and vampires that watched them before quickly turning away. "Hello," she would say to them, though they would not look at her for long. Other younger slaves, most of them were in their teenage years, would look to her for longer, admiring her bracers and shining objects, before looking away for fear of being beaten.
"It is not fair she is paranoid," Netami replied. Her hair swung behind her as they walked, her smaller legs stretching to keep up with Calliope. "Her daughter was a nice fight, however. She should learn to be a calmer queen, though. If I were another, I might have killed them." Staying silent for a moment, she continued, "Rewinding time of relics and weapons for dungeon spelunkers. I really do not understand why they hold onto heirlooms that have no real power. I've also been spending my time like you, dear. Staying in Karst at the college most of my time, keeping out of trouble. I haven't caused any revolutions." The last jab left a smile, and Netami laughed silently. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Flora let out a small chuckle "Ah well in this place there is no throne by right, it is won through treachery." she gently held the pot of tea over the fire to heat up the water "If she lets her guard down then one of the lesser souls might just take her place, such is the nature of this realm." she said having one of the servants bring them chairs where she gently sat, guiding her companion to another one of the seats. She let out a small hiss "Only one she seems to trust is her children. Maybe." she chuckled finding it rather funny of course. Flora looked at her "Ah well unlike us time might effect them, best they keep some tether to this world. We're relics too." though she wasn't surprised her friend was spending her time in such a manner. It was pretty funny, though the strike at her cause her to click her tongue "You should try it. You might even win a royal harem." she joked thinking for a moment "Oh that means you've met her then. The cow, have you been staying with her and the other mage then?" she checked on the water, once it was hot enough she began the process of steeping it with her special herbs to give the tea its heavenly taste. Flora was normally calm in this, but she was bored a lot recently. It had been some time since she had even a decent fight, or killed enough people to satisfy her blood-lust. She really needed something to occupy her time and luckily her friend was there to provide some manner of company that might help. <<Location: Castle Gates || Thoughts: Ah my pet! || Mood: Safe >> ══════════════════

True, she did not much care for rights and lineage as the common man, but she also knew that the greater good mattered above all else. The queen was not hindering that, so what did she matter to Netami?
"Then perhaps she should not have taken the job title. I do not understand the concept of dreaming for this power. It is nothing but a hinderance." She pondered for a moment before stating, "However, maybe this is the price to pay for keeping your children safe." Laughing as Calliope led her to the chair, she sat comfortably, liking the woman sat beside her. "I can see better than you, dear. But thank you."
The ancient's usual skittish behavior seemed nonexistent in the presence of this vampire, and Netami quietly snorted. "We're beautiful relics! Do I need a harem when I have you and- yes, I see Saho on occasion. She doesn't truly like magic, so it's difficult being around her when I accidentally let loose." Netami's face scrunched for a moment before she commented, "Aeryn is there, yes. I know my accident, but have you even visited her?"
Yes, it was true Netami had known all of these women in another verse, and it was very true that she had made a miscalculation when bringing Calliope's soul to this one. But it was rare to see her disregard for Aeryn, though the ancient understood that not in every verse did their souls have to meet. It was difficult to see, but it was the fact of life as it were. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Flora looked at her for a moment with a small sigh " Oh occasionally, but she lives in a very sunny place so I go in, we spend a night and then I come home." she said checking pouring the tea into cups for the two of them. She went back, handing her a cup gently as she sat down "But with my split as you've told me, she has Saho so I'm mostly here to keep order." she said drinking her tea with a smile " Though I'm sure you know how Saho is." she said hearing the stories. Flora let out a slightly content sigh "Must strange for you for there to be two of me, but this is fine." she said looking at her from the corner "I envy her, without rules. I'd just love to fight, unleash my power if even for a minute." she took another sip of her tea "But no, for now I am stuck...for now." the atmosphere was a bit heavier though. Flora was clearly feeling some manner of mood that was likely to make her lash out. She thought for a moment "I don't imagine the mages provide much fun. Must be hard to hold yourself back, to not teach them the truth of the magic they wield right?" she leaned on the little mage. <<Location: Castle Gates || Thoughts: Ah my pet! || Mood: Safe >> ══════════════════

Even a nocturnal ascendant would find disfavor when trying to operate in the sun. There was a large difference between the wonderful dry heat of Karst and the cool weather of Thentis, all due to the sun rising or the shroud over the land. While it didn't bother most races, Netami could not fathom how it would feel to be secluded to one territory. Well... she did, but that was due to family, not because of her genetics.
"From what she tells me, she enjoys you over Saho. The bovine is simply... too nice." Netami shrugged her shoulders as she lifted her hand to grab the tea cup that was offered. "Saho is the same, honestly. The taverns both enjoy and hate her company, and the special brew she has on her person is sought after. She enjoys combat more than you."
The ancient's face fell for a moment before she brightened again. "Perhaps it is simply because this universe cannot handle your true form. Or maybe it really is because I cannot do most things correctly." She sat quietly for a moment before looking to her friend. Her face was pointed toward the vampire but her eyes were pointed towards the woman's chin. "Calliope... just like her, perhaps you should travel again. Saho told me this strange story of meeting with one she bested, but barely. If not, you know I can always create a pocket for you if you wish to fight. I.. can do that much, at least."
Netami chuckled humorlessly. "I teach Aeryn space magic, but you are not wrong. It is difficult wield power you must keep to yourself. As a mage in this verse, it is surrounded by teachers, Karst's college was erected to teach. I live there and yet none have the capacity to understand what I could tell. It is almost unfair to keep it from them. When the Fallen rise again, there will be so many that will die. It is unfair to place it all on our shoulders, don't you think?" ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The red-haired vampire let her long tongue run over her lips as she sipped her tea listening to her talk "The poor girl cannot enjoy kindness. Once broken, always broken." she said. Flora herself was as specially aware of her fractured nature thanks to the ancient power that formed her now combined with her friends musings. It wasn't a natural break as generally there would be only one of her in any given reality but it was interesting to her in a way. She smirked "From what you told me, you should enjoy this split. It appears the other versions of myself do not employ kindness often." she let out another sigh though she chuckled "She seems like a treat!" Flora laughed a bit "Well it can hardly handle me now, thus we must restrict our power." she said finishing her tea very quickly though he could hear her friend tearing herself down a bit. She leaned back "Ha! Such self-destructive talk is unbecoming of someone your stature my lovely mage~!" she smiled stretching as bit, running her fingers through her blood-laced hair. Flora though for a moment "Ha! Travel the world? Sleep all day? Walk at night? That seems interesting, but I feel like leaving this place wouldn't be too worth it as it is my home the queen and her offspring just live here." she gently craved into her own skin using one of her sharp talons. She looked to her "Ah well, if the fallen rise again like last time it won't be our problem until they seem to get in our way of keeping balance, at which point they'll learn not to do it like they did last time." she licked her lips again. She sighed "Let the little people have their wars & glory, we await the day the real enemy appears and get to reap the rewards like always." she leaned over sniffing her "I'm still hungry...." she brushed her fingers over her shoulder. <<Location: Castle Gates || Thoughts: Ah my pet! || Mood: Safe >> ══════════════════

This was not the time and instead she responded, "In this verse she was a slave for many years. It seems to be her burden to bare, though she seems more feisty here. Fire magic, you see. Probably even more destructive than what she had prior." The ancient shrugged at her friend's words. "You had no choice but to be kind to me, dear. Or I'd kick you off your hill rather quickly."
While it was true this verse was more simplistic, Netami wondered if it could survive a paradox of itself. She pondered this for a moment, wondering how far she could truly push, before she shook her head to shake away the thoughts. If it came to it, Neta would do what she must to protect, not destroy this world. Calliope was there with her, even if she was considered evil by normal standards. The ancient was perplexed for a moment at her own standing, and she wondered how she could have changed so drastically from her goody two shoes self. Where before she would have kept balance, she did not turn on her allies. There was a moment during the war her prior self would have been ashamed of her...
Clearing her throat again, this time dredging herself away from her thoughts, Netami sighed. "What else could I possibly do but self destruct? I am serious, Calliope. My power could hold you if you wished to go on a rampage. Anyone you would kill would turn to normal once more after you've had your fill." Eyes traveled down to slowly cascading blood and Netami reached over to the woman. "Saho may have gotten your fervor for travel, but I know your listlessness would be lifted, even if just slightly, if you tried." She scrunched up her nose before jokingly saying, "Instead of sniffing ask for what you want!"
No, it was not every day the ancient would say something so brash, but today was not a normal day. Today was the day that things would shift. She could feel it and it made her antsy, almost drunk with it. What could it possibly be, she wondered. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Flora rolled her shoulders "Her conditioning then, to think she prefers a crueler love. Its rather humorous." she chuckled as she smiled "Ah well, she is a strong one however so at least she's gotten there." though at her friends words she gave a small wave "I doubt you'd do more than make me want to bed you more outside of the warriors respect." she said gently moving her fingers over the plates of blood that covered her pale flesh. She let out a small humm as she thought some things over. It was possible her little mage had done it before of course, after all, she was the one most trusted to keep her in line before it was possible she went off the deep end. It was probably a reoccurring theme, not one of complete victory, but enough to hold Flora back. She pulled Netami onto her lap "Thats lame darling. I prefer what I kill to remain that way otherwise that takes all the fun out of it." she hissed as she played with the Albino's hair a bit "I'll give it some thought, but I doubt I'll be happy until I've found the ultimate thrill." she whispered to her. She began to press her fangs against the shorter mages neck, just above her veins. However she eventually she withdrew, settling on giving the spot a lick "Not a fan of asking. I'd love to sink my claws into your lovely flesh, to partake of your ancient blood..." she hissed seductively. She gently moved her claws over her arms "But before I take it I do wish to hear you say those words.." she said pulling her closer "You've said them before. How much you care for me. Your blood was all the sweeter after that confession. That I ask for." she chuckled. <<Location: Castle Kitchen || Thoughts: Ah my pet! || Mood: Safe >> ══════════════════
