His message had been sent and he stumbled his way through the Famine halls rushing to what he deemed the most reasonably safe room and possibly one that wouldn't be odd to catch him and Cami whispering in.

The difference this time was where he placed himself, he chose not the warm soft sand, but to perch on a rock eyeing the sand as if even it couldn't be trusted. That whatever lurked in it was able to tell deep down he wasn't a Horsemen.

Again, he grabbed at his phone, checking to see if Cami had replied whispering silent questions to a voice that was no longer in his head, fear creeping into his hushed whispers for Sylvia to come back.

Roland fumbled with his phone a bit more, Cami had responded but he made no bother to message back instead scanning the sands for any sign of unexpected movement, the sign of something burrowed down below. He too was worried about how long things would last in his mind. Racing to keep it all together.

When he finally spotted Cami he offered a meek little wave from atop his stone frowning as she got closer. “We’re still monsters,” he whispered softly pointing at his face. “But I remembered, we’re not horsemen. We’re hunters. We’re real people.”

His face grew white, “C-cami Rep and I… we…. We killed hunters…. I laughed while we did it….” he shivered violently. “I-is this real?”

He could see the pain in her eyes, even if it wasn’t exactly the Cami he was now remembering the look was the same, the way she stood was distinctly different, even the way he moved was less bug like, he stood more upright. Roland wasn’t sure what he said that would have triggered it but he was sure it was something he said.

“I don’t know, I think, I think what we rememebered was but even that’s broken. I remember being at home, and then I woke up on the island and everyone was kids and kept saying I used to be older but I never became older again.” He was hugging himself now. “Alice said Dorothy was a lie, and I think even Rohim agreed, she was dumb and wouldn’t explain anything but Alice said she is helping that she’s trying to help us remember.”

He sighed deeply, “Everything? Like I said, I remember being hunters. Or at least kid hunters. The whole everyone being little and my life before that.” He suddenly looked up eyes wide in fright.

“H,” he said quickly, “H said something, when I got my exam because I hadn’t gone back to the old me. He implied that whatever did that might not have ever left the island. What if the same thing is making us think we’re Horsemen?” Panic rose into his voice, “Do others remember?”
