Akiko watched, almost in awe but also in lust as Rui leaned over and opened his mouth. Pink lips wrapped around his chopsticks and Akiko couldn’t help the spike of arousal that shot down his spine. He blushed and looked away as Rui chewed and enjoyed his bite. Akiko felt like his body was alight… like a fire had been sparked under his skin. He hadn’t felt… something like this in… a long time, if ever… this seemed too intense to be normal… was it normal?

Akiko was pulled from his musings by Rui’s judgment of the food, followed by an offer of his own. Akiko blushed again, not as intensely though and leaned forward to accept the bite. “Th-thank you.” He murmured before he slurped the noodles. He put the napkin to his lips as he chewed and nodded his pleasure. “I like that.” He said after swallowing.

They continued their dinner in such manner under their bowls were empty and their bellies were full. Akiko was surprised he had managed to eat so much, but it was very good, and the company was perfect… he hadn’t wanted it to end, so he had kept eating. He was regretting it now though. His belly felt so full!

Daichi stroked Kaoru through his orgasm, smirking pridefully as he watched his husband. He carefully removed his fingers before Kaoru could get oversensitive and wrapped his arms around his husband’s middle to brace him when his legs went out. He pulled the male against his chest, pressing kisses to Kaoru’s neck, his own unspent c**k seemingly forgotten, pressed along Kaoru’s back. Daichi grabbed a wash cloth and started to watch Kaoru’s front the best he could with one hand as he waited for his love to recover. In the other room, his phone pinged with a text message from his mother.

Akiko nodded, blushing. He was a bit embarrassed, for eating as much as he had and being caught… it was like Rui could read his discomfort from his face alone… which actually, wasn’t that far fetched of an idea. The older male tried, instead, to focus on the hand in his as they walked back to the car. And once inside, Rui reached for his hand again and Akiko couldn’t help but smile at the gesture. He gently rubbed his thumb along the top of Rui’s hand as Rui drove. Akiko stared down at their hands, but soon his eyes got drowsy from the food and the drive.

He was almost asleep by the time they returned home. And in his sleepy state, he hardly noticed the extra guards. He kept his small attention span on Rui’s hand in his, and walking. Walking was important. They walked to the couch and Akiko almost had the nerve to lean into Rui in his sleep state. But Rui was angled, so he could talk to Akiko. So, the male sat up, and forced himself to wake up a bit. That sleepy state of contentment almost completely vanished when Rui mentioned the physical checkup. Immediately he tensed, his breathing stuttered at the thought. He pressed his eyes closed a moment, one hand moved to wrap around his middle, as if that would keep him together. He was already shaking his head when Rui asked him to just think about it. He swallowed thickly. Think about it? He didn’t Have to do it right away? Akiko opened his eyes to look at Rui, searchingly. After a quiet minute, Akiko nodded. He didn’t trust his voice to speak. He looked back down at his hand still in Rui’s and tried to breath through the panic that was threatening to settle over him.

Daichi held Kaoru all night, a soft ‘I love you’ on his lips as darkness took him. He slept well enough. As music started to drift in through his dreams, Daichi’s dreams turned sweet, until, slowly, he was pulled to the surface, like moving through water. Slowly, he blinked and took in the room, the empty bed, and the soft music coming from the living room. He smiled happily, sighing as he turned his head to smell Kaoru’s pillow. He allowed himself another minute before he pulled himself out of bed and through on some clothes as he went to the bathroom.

He was silent as he left the bedroom, moving quietly so that he could lean against a wall a moment to just watch Kaoru play. He probably had a dopy/sappy look on his face as he watched his husband play, but he didn’t care. His chest felt full, warm and happy and love threatened to bubble over. After a minute or so, he pushed off the wall and walked over to Kaoru, sure the male had noticed him now. When he was close enough, he leaned down and pressed a kiss to the crown of Kaoru’s head, smelling his hair. “Good morning, Kaoru.” He said when the music naturally died.

His phone was still on the counter, flashing periodically with an unread message.

Akiko blushed when Rui kissed his hand, and it was a good distraction from the panic that was threatening to over power him. He nodded when Rui mentioned sleep, and he bit his lip when Rui offered (seemingly enthusiastically so) for Akiko to join him. He wanted that very much… but wouldn’t that be a bit… clingy? He internally sighed. Rui offered, seemed to want him, and it was something Akiko wanted… would it hurt to allow himself to have something he wanted? Especially if the other part sounded willing? “I’d like to-to sleep with you.” He managed in a small voice.

He followed Rui’s lead and headed to his room. He took his time changing his clothes, giving Rui time to change and do whatever he would want to do in the privacy of his room. After some time had passed, Akiko left his room carefully and tentatively walked to Rui’s open door. He stepped in shyly to see Rui reading his book. He waited for an other invitation before he crossed the room and shyly slipped into the empty side of the bed, under the covers. “Wh-what are you reading?” he asked as he settled onto the pillow near Rui, but not yet touching.

Daichi nodded, answering none verbally as they left the piano and headed to the kitchen for breakfast. He took his seat at the counter as Kaoru stepped into the kitchen. “The library? No, I don’t need anything.” He answered, silently inquiring about Kaoru’s interest. His phone dinged with a new text message and Daichi realized he had left the device on the counter last night. Luckily his battery usually lasted a while. He picked up his phone and frowned from the multiple missed messages from his mother.

He felt his heart rate quicken, realizing she had been waiting since last night for an answer from him. “My mother has been trying to get ahold of me.” He said out loud, his brows knitted together as he scrolled up and read through her multiple messages. Next weekend. Family meeting with all the households. Daichi felt his back straighten and his shoulders tense as just the thought. He quickly typed out a response.

--My apologies mother. Of course, I will be present. --Time? –I will ask Kaoru if he wants to be present. If not, he can meet up with us for dinner with father.

Looking up from his phone, he realized food was in front of him. “Kaoru.” He held his hand out, beckoning the male over. He turned in his seat, pulling Kaoru in between his legs, caging him in a slightly with his tights and arms. “Mother is calling a family meeting… to discuss your mother.” He said softly, trying to be gently, but unwilling to treat Kaoru like a child. “Next weekend… you don’t not have to be in attendance but as a son of the head family, my presence is required.” He cupped Kaoru’s face and brushed his thumbs along Kaoru’s cheekbones, bright blue eyes searching Kaoru’s for any clue as to how Kaoru was feeling.

Akiko looked at the cover and nodded as Rui started to summarize the book. It sounded like a good book. “I didn’t realize you could read in English. Do you know many languages?” he asked. Akiko could converse in English, but just enough to get by. He used to need it for his company, when he worked with some of contractors in the Americas. But he never formality learned to read and write in English.

Akiko’s hand twitched above the blanket where it rested before he gathered enough courage to shimmy closer. Ever so slightly, Akiko rested his cheek against Rui’s shoulder as he turned to his side. “Is-is this al-alight?” he asked softly.

Daichi frowned and tried to bracket Kaoru in with his legs. “No. No Kaoru, you aren’t a failure…” his hands lifted to cup Kaoru’s cheeks as the male started to spiral. Daichi thought frantically, trying to think of something that would calm his husband down, but he wasn’t good at this, comfort thing. He didn’t want to lie or sugar coat things for Kaoru, but maybe he needed learn a way to break the news more gently. Either way, it was too late now, and he needed to find a way to calm Kaoru down.

“No, Kaoru. It’s okay.” He leaned in and pressed a kiss to Kaoru’s head. “You don’t have to be there. Mother left it open for you to choose. It’s alright. If you don’t want to be there, no one will force you.” He said. Daichi himself still had to be there, and Kaoru would be in the main house while the conversation went on but… he could stay in Daichi’s old room under the other family members left. Kaoru continued to spiral and Daichi almost growled at the thought of the other house disapproving of their marriage. “No one would believe you deserved what you went through… what your father went through… and I’d like to see them try to disagree with Mother… or me… you are mine, Kaoru… don’t forget that.” He said, something dark and threatening in his tone towards those invisible dissenters. He wrapped his arms around Kaoru and held him tight as he rested his chin on Kaoru’s head. “They won’t hate you Kaoru…” He said softly but he knew it was pointless to try and convince Kaoru otherwise right now.

Kaoru pulled away and he looked so panicked and scared. Daichi tried to cling to him, his hands on his elbows, leaning forward to follow him as Kaoru leaned back and mentioned going to lay down. The brave smile fell through because of the terrified look in Kaoru’s eyes. Daichi frowned. “Kaoru…” he tried but the male was already walking to their bedroom. Daichi watched and stared at their bedroom door for a minute, thinking, trying to decide the best next move. His jaw set as he made his decision. He picked up his phone and dialed a number as he got out of his seat and grabbed his plate. As the phone rang, he walked into the kitchen, covered his food (no longer hungry after Kaoru’s distress) and placed it in the fridge. Someone answered and before they could even complete their greeting Daichi was talking.

“Kyle, I’m calling out sick today… Yes, sick… Shut up, Kyle, You can handle the meeting this afternoon?” He asked, picking up the kitchen a bit as he spoke, even though it was mostly clean. “Ya, text me if you have any questions. Thanks, Kyle.” He said before he hung up. He placed his phone back onto the counter and walked back to the bedroom. He frowned at the small bundle that was Kaoru on his side of the bed. Quietly, he walked over to the other side and slipped into bed. He ignored the other male’s inquiring and slipped in behind him, pulled the smaller male flush against him. Daichi’s arm wrapped around the male’s middle and he buried his nose into Kaoru’s hair with a kiss. “It’s going to be alright, Kaoru… I’m not going anywhere.”

Akiko leaned further into Rui’s comforting touch. “Please don’t stop.” He said softly, just above a whisper as he let his eyes close to enjoy the feeling. That guilty feeling that he was using Rui flared again but he shoved it down. When he opened his eyes again, he nibbled on his lip. “If you don’t mind, I-I’d like it if you-you’d read to m-me.” He said hesitantly, hoping it wasn’t being a bother.

Akiko listened to the soft rumble of Rui’s voice as he read the book. But sooner than he hoped, his eyes started to droop. Listening to Rui’s voice, laying so close to his warmth, and his soothing hand in his hair was so relaxing. Akiko couldn’t fight the pull of sleep. He drifted off, still laying on Rui’s shoulder, completely content.
