Every single day, the voices seemed to grow louder, more clear even. What started as soft coos and whispers when she was a child gradually began to feel like full-blown emotions, actual feelings and thoughts that were not her own beginning to fill her mind on a regular basis. When she was young she thought little of the mental intrusion, actually finding it to be somewhat welcomed among the chaos of her bizarre life.
Now she was older though, and she had to wonder; What were these thoughts that filled her mind? Was it just her childlike imagination getting out of control, or was it something... else?
She was sitting alone in her room when the soft whispers returned, causing her to cant her head upwards slightly. Her glossy violet eyes blinked a single time before focusing on nothing.
"Is there someone there?" She asked below her breath, stiffening in her place as her ears twitched and turned, searching for the source of the whispers.
She did not hear anything,... but she did feel it.
A coldness seemed to fall over her form as a contrary warmth filled her mind. Though she could not distinguish one word from the next, she began to feel comfort in the soft hum of nonsense in her brain. Whoever it was--or whatever it was was friendly. Gentle. Comforting.
"Why are you here? Why are you with me?" she questioned quietly, her tails flicking gently behind her. The feeling in her mind swam for a moment, leaving her more confused than before. It had Yuumei's brows furrowing as she played gently with the hem of her skirt. "Do you know why you are with me?"
A more direct question that earned her a more direct answer.
No.
She heard it clear as day in her head, as if someone were in the very same room as her. The strength of the single word had her blinking her sightless eyes from surprise, tilting her head to the side. For a time, she said nothing, before simply smiling inwardly.
"Well, you're welcome to stay. I do not mind the company."
