I was searching for something else when I came across a few books about rape on the public library website. Because I have a strange curiosity, I ordered this book. I have just finished reading it. I find these poems, which are written in what I guess you'd call free-style, very sad and depressing.

Has anyone else read them?

I haven't. That sounds...disturbing...?

Gloomy is interesting.

It's always good to deviate from your normal realm of reading, even for the disturbing because then you know that you still can be disturbed and haven't become totally indifferent. I was kind of surprised to find there would be a collection of these types of poems, no matter how small.

You do start to understand more about what a rape victim can be feeling, even so long after an attack. I wonder if there are more such collections out there...

In my personal opinion, there is absolutely nothing worse than sexual abuse, so if I read something like that I would probably feel sickened and angry...and I prefer to be happy.
