DESCRIPTION The Red Sons are a company of highly-trained super-marines brought about by the Red Son program, particularly to fight alongside the Galactic Confederation Marines. The Red Sons themselves are part of the Confederation Marines.

They are composed entirely of humans, each with enhanced physical attributes, “the strength of ten men”, whose raw physical traits surpass the baseline Suldari physiology. As a result of the chemical formula, their eyes are a faintly-glowing red, and they have very defined muscles. Their grueling training has made a profound effect on their personalities, many of which with immensely suppressed emotions, characterized by stoic, unfeeling gazes. Nonetheless, they represent “the perfect soldiers” in the eyes of their “creators”: obedient, largely unfeeling, and possessing fierce combat prowess.

Io and the Confederation’s military sought to create a new type of soldier, soldiers powerful and skilled enough to endure the nightmarish Outer Rim. For several years, they tried and failed to produce a serum, but eventually succeeded. In 2496, 500 third-year human students from Bostrum Military Academy were selected (those specifically looking to become marines) for their display of promise, provided they were in good health and suffered no physical handicaps. Afterwards, these 500 students endured four years of rigorous training, with only 150 of the original 500 emerging successfully. It was these 150 that then received the super-marine serum at the end of their training, and were officially recognized as Red Sons.

The minimum rank is Sergeant, with the maximum rank as Second Lieutenant.

TRAINING 500 students were thrust into some of the most unforgiving environments known to man, from the deserts of Echeyrus to the crippling environment of Suldar. The last 2 years were spent on Suldar, with the completion of their training marked by completing the legendary Sula’manul, the Suldari Rite of Passage, a very rare and dangerous honor provided by the Suldari Government.
