DESCRIPTION Io is a paramilitary megacorporation of some of the brightest—and even most ruthless—minds in the Parallel. With their influence in the heart of the Parallel and their far-reaching power to the colonies of the outer rim, they are a group to be feared and envied. Nonetheless, they are a source of much admiration and respect, due to their bountiful supply of resources and many innovations that have advanced their world. They are the Parallel’s largest supplier of plutite and cronite, as well the legal manufacturer of acronium. Due to the immense scientific value of Precursor tech, they seek it out aggressively, and lead the world in Precursor information. With innovative new tech, they are unrivaled, and are well on their way to unlocking the universe’s many, many secrets.

Project Rhea (named after the titaness of fertility) is a classified project bent on using ancient remains and cloning technology to replicate prehistoric animals in an artificial setting meant to replicate living standards of old. Upon being approved for testing, the clones are brought into Rhea from the exterior labs.
Utilizing the World Bender, a form of terraforming technology from the Precursors, a small part of Vulcan’s moon of Axieros was transformed into the site of their artificial “island” called Rhea. Approximately 1000 km², various bizarre creatures from Earth’s past dwell throughout, from dodo birds to raptors, monsters on land, sea, and sky. While there are hundreds of kilometers exceeding the island, there is an invisible dome surrounding Rhea, preventing the subjects from seeing the reality outside the dome: the various watchtowers and facilities occupied by Io staff. In order to prevent individuals from somehow getting too close to the secret wall, sensors can activate artificial storms.
Starting in 2485, the first wave of subjects was captured and brought to Rhea, the following waves brought in every five years, with the third wave being the most recent. All subjects are memory-wiped and surgically implanted with a tracker at the nape of their necks, which monitors their actions.
