Silence was throughout the cell. The echo of the swift strike rang out. For a moment Kaito was unsure of what had just occurred? Slowly as his chin began to gain friction it was certain. Asche had struck him. Not a trivial shot wither but a really virtuous one. The pirate’s awareness went blank unsure of where this was coming from. It all sunk in, the words that were spoken. As the cell emptied he remained. Muddled. Trying to process what just transpired. This misperception. Where was he wrong again? When did he not treat his mates with care and decency? Defended Tahira’s honor and he got an assault to the face?! Insides were bubbling. The red elixir in his veins was fuming. What was he being scolded for again? This made no sense at all but that was beyond the problem. The root of this issue was Nefertari and his ghastly attitude. Kaito was not done with this. Not by a long shot. Once unsympathetic and lifeless amber hues suddenly masked by a raging crimson. An unfastened tooth would swish around in his mouth. Fangs would grit until the enamel would give way and shatter under the pressure of his anguish. This was fine because another would soon take its place. The man was a regenerating flaming avian, something he would gracefully place on display. Alike his fury, flames would burst around his being as he crashed through ceiling in the form of a mystic phoenix. A beam of aquatic teal flare would trail as he darted towards his destination. An array of hell and brimstone would crash upon the Odyssey as the others would begin to board. Umber locks would sway and motion as the beautiful blaze would sustain themselves upon him, slowly fading. “No..no…no…no..no.no! No! NO! NOO! That is NOT how that conversation ends!” Cadences from the very pit of his insides bellowed for command.
There were quite a few things that needed to be said as the pirate captain began to pace back and forth. Hands raking into his curls in complete muddle. It seemed to be that he had completely snapped. “Wh-what is it that I am trying to achieve?” Kaito would asked his crew baffled and confused. Certainly, they knew the answer. “To be the King of the ******** world! Ruler of these Sea! A GOD amongst...men….Why is that you may ask. Because the King answers to no one but himself. There is not a single soul in the world that can oppress me again! That is my goal that is my ambition. To be the strongest man alive!” Kaito would take a gander at them all to make sure they were listening. “This is not a game to me. This is why this crew was made. This is why I am the commander of the fleet! All the responsibility of that failure is mine to bare. Mine! Not Yours! Not Yours! And NOT YOURS!” Kaito would blast his fingers in each of their individual directions. As he ranted the more he got passionate. The more passionate he became the higher his ire began to rise.
“Now the question is. Is that what you want?” Kaito would come upon Nefertari. That whole we are a crew working as one bullshit could slide to the side. It was time to get to the source of the situation. Nefertari. Not this surface level they we are all wrong. No, they were not. Deep down Nefertari knew it too. Kaito calmly walked up on him chest flexed and nostrils flared. “That is my dream and it is very important to me. So important that its worth more than I can even comprehend or place into words. I give it everything I have. So I have every RIGHT to ask those who I place above that to do the same! I need to know if you are worth my life! My aspirations!” Kaito had the ashen haired boy by the collar as he lifted him up off his feet. There was no malice just to make sure he had his attention. “Are you willing to die for me?! Like I am willing to die for YOU?! What do you want?!” The question was simple and to the point. Was Nefertari in it to win it because Kaito only had one life and he would trade it instantly to save any member of his crew but they had to be worth it. Were Nefertari’s actions worthy of his sacrifice? As of late no but he could be there all Kaito needed to know is if he could trust him. All he need was for him to believe in him. All he needed was for him to push himself!

A quick sashay up the docking ramp, a hastened unfurl of the sails, and the Primo Dios were off much to Nefertari's dismay. The white haired beauty felt uneasy being on this ship with these people now. There was no hiding how he felt about them now. As sure as the sky was blue, Nefertari's words coursed through their mind like venom through veins. Each replay of that moment in the cell further deteriorating what little bond they had to one another. Delicate fingers would comb white strands as the ocean air would blow through his milky white hair. He would take out green nail file and begin to grind down and shape his nails into perfect crescents at the edge of his fingers. During this time Kaito would be throwing his temper tantrum. This was Nefertari's attempt to keep busy until he was done. As he had finally reached the place in his mind where he could begin to tune the guy out, his attention would snap back as yet another presence would be upon him. "Ugh again?" His delicate frame would be lifted into the air, his emerald gaze bearing down on Kaito. Despite his unfavorable situation, his visage was of one who had the high ground. Of one who was in the most advantageous state. Nefertari heard everything Kaito had to say. Despite his deceiving body language, the desert viper actually took in all the happenings around him. He would smirk as he looked down on Kaito, "My dream is simple. I just want to go back to Alabasta but you don't care about that. Am I willing to die for you? That's what you want to know, right? Am I willing to die for you...?" A slight chuckle would escape his soft lips as he would continue to answer this silly question. "Of course not." His expression would change to a more severe one. "I've been here for months and all you've done is steal and destroy for no reason. Merely because we were there. What exactly have you done to move towards these so called aspirations of yours? You've grown but not that much. You've gained a new ally but she's nothing special. Johnny and I aren't exactly noteworthy either. We're just a group of troubled youths abusing the little power they have." His gaze would intensify as he glared down at Kaito. "You want me to die for aspirations that you grip with the strength of an infant? You barely deserve my presence on this ship let alone the right to that level of loyalty from me. It's not I who should prove myself a capable follower, it's you who should prove yourself a capable leader!" A deep breathe would fill Nefertari's lungs through his nostrils and be released through the same passage. "Now release me, you're stretching out my shirt." Jade eyes would stare down at the male as he awaited to be released. Nefertari had said what he needed to say. He wasn't used to sharing. It felt...good however he didn't expect any of it to sink in. The young viper felt that his captain was far too hard headed to listen until consequences came knocking. It may have been a wasted effort but the green eyed beauty felt...better...to get some of what he felt off his chest...

By the time they actually set out again the former blonde, now colored black thanks to getting rid of the dye, sat on the ships deck with his sheath in tow. Eyes watching, waiting. The intensity from before wasn't something any of them could ignore, but Asche saw this for what it was. Unlike Kaito, Nefetari wasn't so simple. He was a complicated person, who none of them knew nothing about. But the way he held himself, the judgmental gaze for the people around him. You might as well say he was keeping to his own for the benefit of others. Maybe he thought he'd be judged for his past, but Asche had just shown them his homeland without a care in the world. Despite what happened, it was not something he'd do for just anyone. And as they drifted away from the HQ, he patted his hand for Tahira to come sit down next to him right before it all escalated again. "I'm sorry for yelling at you too, but you saw where I was coming from. I needed someone else to be the voice of reason among them. It can't just be me." He'd say in a quaint, kinder tone. Hand resting on top of her own with a smile.
But it all changed as he predicted. The two were back at it like fire to wood. Kaito's approach wasn't anything the swordsmen had hoped for. No, he was doing this all wrong again. He'd thought he'd gotten it through to him that Nefetari wasn't going to respond the way he wanted if he used force. He needed to be more civil. Actually talk to him and then, maybe, they'd actually get somewhere. But seeing them dance around one another only made him shake his head, raising up from his seated position. "A word of advice to both of you."His voice rang over their arguing, hands on his hips."Maybe if you two actually talked to one another in a manner that didn't involve force. ." He'd point to Kaito. " and maybe if someone stopped being so centered about themselves." Then to Nefetari. "You two could actually get somewhere." The insults he didn't care for anymore, but either these two worked this out or someone needed to leave. "In the meantime, me and Tahira here are gonna get a drink below deck. I don't want to see either of you making a fool of yourselves any more than you already have."
And with that, he was gone. It wasn't his place to fix this anymore - this was between captain and crew. Their issues were their own.

☥ Tahira would do her best to keep up and would soon make it back to the ship with no problems. Easily they set sail and would be off. Surprise would form over her features as eyes landed on Asche, who signaled for her to sit next to him. Wasn’t he the one that said he didn’t wish to speak to either of them until disagreements were fixed? Well, aside from that, she made her way over; taking the seat offered. She had felt a certain way during his reprimand of them back in the cell, but her small time back to the ship allowed her enough to reflect. He had a point. And aside from anyone else, she knew his words were true. Her keen sight on Nefertari had been acknowledged from day one. She could tell how he was just from observation alone. And despite the venomous call outs during his rant, she knew that his true problem lied with Kaito. But oh was she not going to allow anyone to talk down about her from here on out. The ashen haired male would get a pass this time. There was so much a girl could take, you know.
An apology would be given; another shock, before a shy smile formed. Her gaze would advert as she would shake her head and apologize as well as his hand rested atop her own. “I’m sorry too. Your right. I just got caught up in the moment. Mad at myself for not being able to do more, and then allowing a certain someone’s words to rile me up” But of course their conversation would be cut short, as Kaito and Nefertari were at it again. Attentions shifted as the two went back and forth. ”Oh no” Eyes went wide upon the words exchanged. More so having witnessed Nefertari opening up again. But this way, only appeared to look like it would end in violence. Tahira would remain seated as Asche spoke his mind once more. The two needed to speak on a level ground. Preferably with no violence involved. Fists and weapons put away. Her head would nod in agreement to his words. But then she would thrust her eyes back on him at the mention of the two of them going to get a drink. “Eh?” He would soon walk off, while she looked from him to Kaito and Nefertari and then back to Asche, before trotting off after him.
“I know they need to work things out but, shouldn’t we keep an eye out. Just in case?” she would ask, with a hint of concern in her tone. Seeing Kaito’s anger plus knowing just what his hands were capable of, Tahira could only imagine the destruction that would ensue if violence made its nasty appearance.

What was so hard to comprehend? Kaito was willing to place his life on the line for this crew and everything it stood for. All he was asking was to have Nefertari do the same. To place an effort forward to become something. There was no such thing as a free ride. The ashen haired boy claimed his goal is to reach Alabasta. If that was his goal he was going to have to earn that carry. All Kaito could do was grin as he released the Desert Viper. Any other time the pirate would have blasted the kid in the face. Tired, he was just too tired. “So, your only goal in life is to return to place you have already been? That you have already experienced? I thought you were just lazy but you just lack resolve. There is no catalyst to your flame.” Kaito would just shrug his shoulders in response to his words. He was a pirate, what did he expect? That’s what he was forced to do. It was not his wish to do these things it was the system he had to play under. Did he mindlessly Raid and Pillage islands, cities and towns? Of course not, but it was something that needed to be done for his ambitions to be realized.
"All my life I have fought. Every day I would fight just to live the next day. Experienced many personalities and dreams. But never have I ever met someone so self-entitled. So selfish and so concerned with themselves. Who chooses not to be all they can be but quick to point out the flaws of others.” Arms would cross as the captain of the Odyssey would just shake his head in disappointment. “You continue to say the same thing. I have acknowledged my faults already and trying to move towards a solution to better myself. Yet all you have done is point fingers. How about some self-reflection?” Facial expression would turn sour as he calmly let out a sigh full of adversity. “I try to push you in a certain direction and you just reject it. You wont tell nobody about yourself. So here I am with nothing left to do with you.” Eyebrows would arch inward as his hands would brush down his hairless face. This was going to be difficult for him to say.
“All of us can try to work to better ourselves together, help each other to reach something we could never accomplish alone. Or you can find somewhere else to go. It’s your choice if you want to be here or not. It’s clear you have a problem with us as a crew. They don’t deserve that. They don’t deserve to be openly ridiculed by someone who doesn’t even attempt to pull their own weight. Not on my ship.” Katio wasn’t standing for it anymore. The insults to his comrades would halt. They were worth more to him than he could possibly imagine. This was because they believed in him. Which is more than he could say for Nefertari. All he wanted was for the boy to apply himself to something. This was clearly beneath him so maybe it was time to give up. There was no flame to be lit. Some battles just can’t be won he knew that now.

A hand would rise to cover Nefertari's soft lips as he would let out a long yawn. Kaito, using what little information he had on Nefertari, made several assumptions about his person. Shots in the dark. People always assumed they were smarter than they actually were. It was a common trait shared by many. Emeralds would lazily gaze on as the "captain" would continue to speak. The viper did not care for most of what he was saying but he wouldn't throw the entire conversation out the window just because most of it was garbage. He needed to find something of use to latch on to so he would listen on. As he would finish, Nefertari would blankly stare at him. Did he really believe he made a solid point? "You call me selfish...while trying to take all the worlds riches and authority for yourself. You call me self-centered when you barely know the people you're on this ship with. You call me unmotivated when you've yet to even make a single step towards what you're trying to accomplish, whatever that is. You aim all these assumptions and criticisms while in the same breathe telling me not to aim mine...you're a hypocrite." Nefertari would turn his back on Kaito. This Kaito person was not going to make it far. He had the potential to lead but none of the know how. Nefertari, in his youth, had lain with actual Kings and Rulers, much to his dismay. He knew how they were built and how they were destroyed. Kaito was an unbuilt King...and Nefertari didn't have the patience to aid someone who wouldn't accept that they needed aid. "But you're right Kaito. I haven't been the...easiest to deal with. I'll try to do better in the future and pull my own weight...I'm sorry." Nefertari would walk away. These are the words that Kaito wished to here. They had no sincerity in them and lacked any form of emotion despite the tone at which they were said. The words came out sounding genuine but they came from an empty place. A place in Nefertari's heart where people would see what they wanted and hear what they wanted. With that Nefertari would attempt to take his leave. Heading down below deck to his room. It had been a long day...

An expression of utter confusion. He was trying to figure out what the young boy was talking about. The words that were coming from his mouth were not registering in his head. They were not landing because they were not remotely true. There was no truth or evidence of them being so. When had he ever shown that he would use his power to oppress others? The liberator of slaves, his finest moment was freeing those who were oppressed. Kaito had not uttered words of riches, those were the least of his interest. Didn’t he not split a jade egg in 4ths and didn’t take a single piece? The captain was pretty sure Nefertari had an idea. How they always forget. Kaito didn’t know the people on his ship. If they chose to keep to themselves and not open up to him when he asked that had nothing to do with him. They would when they were ready. No sense to pry. It really didn’t matter to him who they were, all that mattered is who they are now. At this very moment who were the people that sailed under the banner of Primo Dio. Kaito created his own image of who they were. Their past was not a requirement. “Not a single step? ChuaChuaChua!” The Immortal one could do nothing but laugh. “What are we not doing? Do you know the secret to become the pirate King? Enlighten me please I would like to know.” How foolish of him. Last time Kaito checked the way to becoming pirate king was to take down the Yonko. To do that he needed strength and a name. Was that not what he was building? Was he doing this pirate thing all wrong? He was a hypocrite after all. Didn’t know giving everything you have and to request the same of another would lead to being a hypocrite. Guess he would continue to be a hypocrite because his ambitions were not changing and his push for others to better themselves was no flying out the window either. Maybe he was selfish. He wanted to be the ruler of the seas because of his own freedom. Was that wrong?
An apology. As insincere as it seemed it was still a step in the right direction. You can’t move forward unless you acknowledge the problem. “There is no more your weight. Now it’s our weight. You fail, I fail. I fail, you fail. That’s how it’s going to work from now on. Go on and rest up. We’ll continue this later.” Kaito took a look to the vast sea and its mysteries. Nefertari should get a goodnights rest because when he would awaken it was time to hit the ground running. He was going to build him into something himself whether he wanted to or not. Combat was what he was weak in and that is what Kaito excelled at. Time to make it happen. Maybe he would get a drink and marinate on this altercation.

Nefertari's gaze was blank. His flawless face void of any expression. Was it really so hard to understand that wanting to be a ruler meant wanting to control everything? Whatever. The young assassin lacked the patience to sit down and explain this to his would-be captain. He also lacked the patience to answer this pirate king question. Nefertari never gave it much thought but considering the fact that theyve been at this for months and have not shown any signs of progress. Delicate fingers would toss of white silk out of Nefertari's line of sigt before he would retreat below deck to his room. His captain was done speaking and so he was done listening. Off he went to his room. He would pass by the area Johnny and Tahira were mingling in with a quickened pace. The anger of the white haired beauty was apparent but not through his body language or the speed of his walk. It could be felt coming off of him in waves. Resorting to phony smiles and swallowing his pride in order to defuse a situation often made him upset ese days. It used to be second nature when he was younger but now...now it was a challenge. Re-caging a beast was a lot more difficult than caging one for the first time. Nefertari would walk into his room, the door opening and closing within a second. A deep exhale would escape the young viper. "...I need a bath..." Nefertari would walk over to a tub in his room. It sat on the otherside of the room from his bed and was behind a screen so if and when he had intruders, they would not peek his delicates. Off his clothes would come and in he would sink into the tub. As he would rub his arms and legs with the liquid in the tub, it soon became apparent that it wasnt water. It, in fact, was poison. A thick purple liquid caressed his form as he rubbed it into his skin. This ritual was new. One Nefertari picked up soon after eating his devil fruit. By bathing in this poison, he felt that he was not only cleansing himself but making it impossible for any to touch him without his permission. Making his skin poisonous to the touch put his mind at ease for he would never be taken advantage of again. Though the ritual was redundant as the fruit naturally made him poisonous, it made him feel better so he continued to do it. Another sigh. He sat in the tub for what seemed like centuries despite it probably only being a few minutes. He was at peace. His anger subsided. He was now...calm.
