Hello, friends!

I decided to make this nifty little guide to help you understand how magic and special magic works in Celestria!

What is a Specialty?

A Specialty or "Special power" is an ability that is divided into three categories.

-Inherited
-Specially crafted
-Rare

Inherited
An inherited ability refers to an ability that CANNOT be taught outside of that bloodline/group of individuals. This includes things like Mirrormancy or Demon Forms. However, it is possible that these abilities can be present in non full-blooded individuals (Nobody Emporten), but their abilities will NOT be as powerful as their full-blooded counterparts.
For example, n**'s abilities as a Mirrormancer are far superior to Bod's, even though she's not as experienced or well-trained.

You cannot use individual abilities like mirror travel if you are not a Mirrormancer.

Specially Crafted

Specially crafted abilities are abilities that are specially created by certain individuals. For example, Prince Coles' Psychic Shock ability was specially crafted by him for his personal use.
These abilities CAN be taught, but they CANNOT be learned naturally by anyone other than the person who created them. As in, your character cannot have a Specially Crafted ability unless the character who created the ability has taught it to them.

Rare

Now, this is something out of both categories, but it still stands alone. Rare abilities are special abilities that are UNHEARD OF in Celestria. Either by way of being outlawed (Necromancy) or simply dying out (Mirrormancy). Characters who specialize in these abilities are very few and do not generally talk about their abilities very openly. However, you can in fact, create special abilities very easily, as there is a bit more room for experimentation.
Hololena's Mummy Dust ability is an ability created by her to suit her need to flee whenever necessary due to her physical limitations.

Rare abilities generally do not crop up outside of their origin zone so it's very difficult to find a Mirrormancer in say, the Fire Kingdom, as Mirrormancers originated in the Water Kingdom and moved into the Psychic Kingdom.

Necromancy doesn't generally move outside of the Ghost or Dark Kingdoms, so finding one in the Light Kingdom is well... impossible, actually. The Light Kingdom doesn't really align well with dark magic and any practitioner of dark magic is usually arrested or exiled.

Hopefully, this shed a little light on the subject, but if you have any questions, feel free to PM me. o w o
Or don't, because it literally doesn't ******** matter anymore and I'm not allowed to do my ******** job.
