Territory
This herd lives on a large tropical island that is surrounded by a reef. The island was created by the still living volcano that is central to life. The island is bursting with flora and fauna and does contain fresh water sources that allow the water bound members to travel inland. There is a large forest on the island along with a few open places where members can gather or farm. The volcano and surrounding areas are rich in ore and precious gem deposits and there is large cave system for the members to move and mine through.

History
The herd is very young. They are on their first leader who wanted more out of life and left her birth herd.

Religion
They equally celebrate all the star signs because their way of life is equally affected by fire, water, earth, and air. They have 4 festivals dedicated to the four elements (and the signs that go with them).

Politics
Hearth’s Fire is a neutral herd that during times of war/strife/etc, does not pick sides nor is it allied with any herd. Contracts for supplies are about it and those are strictly business. In other words, they will sell two sides of a war, weapons, and walk away without a care in the world. But don't think that you can come in and say if you want my business, stop selling to so-so. You just might get punted off the island.

Exports
Hearth’s Fire main exports are weapons, armor, jewelry, and artwork. They also export raw metal ore, raw and cut gems, intricately woven baskets and exotic fruits grown on the island.

Guilds & Ranks
This herd is divided up into Guilds and there’s plenty to choose from!

- Tano Guild, the blacksmiths: the create armor, weapons and tools.

- Malda Guild, ore harvesters: the work hard deep in the island finding and collecting ores and processing them into usable metals.

- Leuthil Guild, collectors of gems, shells, coral, pearls, etc

- Kekoa (Warrior) Guild, the protectors and first line of defense. Despite being a neutral herd, they still need to protect themselves if another herd decides to step all over them.

- Kalepa (Merchant) Guild, these stars travel to and from the island selling their wares to other herds and solitary stars. They also bring back imports from other herds, like tea from Dreamer's Glass. They usually travel with a few Kekoa.

- Kukulu (Builders) Guild, these stars build merchant boats, housing, beams for mines, etc.

- Auaha (Artisans) Guild, makers fine art, jewelry, baskets etc. Also, those who enjoy dancing and singing and setting up festivals.

- Ho'oulu (Farming) Guild, they grow and harvest food.

As for Ranks:
Rangatira (Master) - There are 8 rangatira, one over each guild. They report back to the poumatua or ariki, depending on the situation.

Poumatua - kind of a counselor, adviser and middle man between the members of the herd and the Ariki (leader). There is no more than 2. These are hand selected by the ariki based on a relationship of trust and loyalty.

Ariki - The leaders of the herd. Ariki tapairu - female leader, Ariki tauaroa - male leader. If there is just one, they are addressed as Ariki, if there are two then the full title is used.

There are councils held between the Ariki, Poumatua, and the 8 Rangatira.
