User Image Kylinari was in the gardens outside Laisidhiel.

Since her child, Phreia, had grown up and basically started making herself more independnt, Ky had little else to tend to or care for other than the few animals and potted plants she had in her home. And today was to be a graduation day for one of her favorite ferns.

It had grown far too big for it's pot and was beginning to overgrow in the corner she had kept it in. And besides... Some time outdoors will likely allow it to flourish more that if she continued to keep inside.

"Ok, Rumohra!" she chimed, brushing her fingertips over the leathery leaves before setting the pot down. "Is this a good enough spot for you?" she asked it, fully knowing that it wasn't going to respond in turn.

She did seem to pause as if an answer would come before giggling softly and turning to start digging a hole in the ground.

User ImageFrom a little off in distance, right around the outskirts of the garden came a small voice. "You may want to find a shadier place for that sweet fern. They tend to prefer some shade."

Hakujo had come outside to enjoy the greenery and bring his darling Bob out for some fresh air. He had seemed rather jealous that his brother had gotten to go the party. So HakuJo was making it up to him. He didnt need a reson to spoill his babies.

He had just been about to return to his seculded corner of the tree when he came across a fellow faun attempting to murder one of his favorite species of greens.

"OH!" she jumped a little, not fully expecting anyone else to be out here. Most tended to stay inside anymore. For fear of angering their fearless leader. She personally saw no harm in a little sunshine and fresh air, but it wasn't common for others to feel the same.

A hand immediately went to her chest as she looked around, aiming to find the owner of the voice. She couldn't find a figure right away and frowned a bit, but her green eyes turned back to her chosen spot. It was currently shaded and well under some trees... but looking up she could see gaps in the canopy. Darn... and it was such a nice spot too! She frowned a bit.

Standing, she dusted off her hands and looked around again. Still not finding anyone, she placed hands on her hips. "Might I ask for a little help then?" she called back, then turned a sad and apologetic glance towards her Fern.

Haku stepped out of the shadows and pointed at the fern, not really aware if she could see him yet and not really caring. There was plant murder to stop! He really should feel bad about startling the faun, but really. Who feels bad about preventing murder? Poor fern baby...

"That seems to be a shade specific variety of the fern. Perhaps it would prefer somewhere the light doesn't touch. Like further back in the forest?" he suggested gently.

He really wasn't one to have spent much time around other fauns. So he didn't realize he was being snarky. Honest. The other fauns, they tended to leave him and his greenhouse alone. Even his own son never bothered him.

Kylinari blinked and squinted a bit before her eyes widened and her cheeks tinted. "Uh. Thanks." she managed to squeak out before turning her flustered gaze to her plant.

"So sorry, Rumohra.." she cooed as she picked up the fern. "I guess I didn't realize you enjoyed the shade so much! I guess that's why my home was so perfect for you." She frowned a bit then looked over at... Haku Jo. She'd seen him around and had often admired him from afar, but never imagine actually holding a conversation with her crush at any point in time.

She spotted the cactus plant in his hands and then smiled softly. "Echinopsis." she stated plainly, then looked back at Haku Jo.

Haku blinked. "Oh. Ummm... Yes. I am called Echinopsis. Though I prefer Haku. Or Jo. Or Haku Jo. Or some form of them. Echinopsis is very formal." he said. He wondered how in the hell this plant killing woman had learned his name. Last he heard, the other fauns just called him "that guy". As in, avoid that guy at all costs.

Feeling a bit flustered at her knowing his name, but not him knowing hers, he adjusted his cactus and asked "I am afraid I didn't quite catch your name." Nor did he care but that was what polite society called for. Or at least that's what his book on manners had explained. Polite greeting and name exchange was a most thoroughly boring chapter. Helpful, of course. But boring.

Though he really oughta get around to reading the second chapter...

Kylinari blinked and tilted her head. "Erm... No, I meant..." she pointed to his cactus. "I meant you have an Echinopsis..." she giggled shyly and shifted on her hooves for a second.

"Oh! Sorry. I'm Kylinari. But you can call me Kylin or Ky if you prefer." She stood there for a moment then felt oddly awkward, oggling him from where she stood. She cleared her throat again and knelt down to gather Rumohra's pot and carefully lift her up, using one hand to ever so gently guide her leaves to one side or another so as not to squish the plant as she carried it.

She looked back to Haku Jo and tilted her head. "May I have your help finding it the perfect spot?" she asked, biting her lip a bit with her question. All that time avoiding him and admiring him from afar... and now she was actually talking with him. She was her own kind of flustered and shy with simply the knowledge that they were talking to each other... About plants, no less.

Haku stood there a moment trying to process wat to do. His only other interaction with a living par was that golden devil bird. And this faun wasn't really anything like her. She had been most polite. He assumed it was politeness, anyway. She could be planning to take him off into the woods and murder.....did she just recognize one of his babies?

Instantly beaming, he held it out and proudly said as one does with a child "Yes! Echinopsis. I grew it myself! She's a little prickley, but we manage." He stood there a moment, while she went thru her greetings and offer.

"Of course. I will gladly come along and make sure you don't attempt to murder your plant again." He smiled and tucked his plant to his side like he hadn't just insulted her. Cause in his eyes, he hadn't. He had merely stated the obvious.

"After you."
