████ BACKSTORY
██████ ▻ Born into a family of acrobats, Richard developed a love for flying very quickly, and joined his parents as The Flying Graysons. Traveling with the circus, Richard developed his acrobatic skills until the age of eight when his life changed forever. Witnessing Anthony Zucco arguing with the circus owner over insurance matters, he thought nothing of it when the owner refused and sent Zucco on his way. Saying nothing of what he saw, Richard was forced to watch his parents plummet to their deaths during the show, thanks to some tampering on Zucco's part. Orphaned, he was lucky to have been taken in by none other than Bruce Wayne.
When he caught on to Bruce's late night activities, Richard, after vigorous training, joined Batman as Robin. After years of tough scraps, and time away from the cape, Richard realizes that in order to grow he has to leave Batman's side and do his own thing. This didn't sit well with Bruce and the two had a small fallout while Richard sought out Superman for an outside opinion. Hearing the story of a hero from Krypton, Richard takes on the name 'Nightwing' and begins to make a name for himself in Gotham as such.
Nightwing at one point takes over the role of the Dark Knight in Bruce's absence, fighting alongside Robin and once more protecting Gotham as part of the Dynamic Duo. Eventually though, Nightwing moves on to his own city, Blüdhaven, which he finds just like Gotham before Batman came along.
Seeking to rid the city of it's corruption, Richard first takes a job as bartender, but then gets involved with the police - working from both the inside and outside. Now, while taking care of his own city, Nightwing still helps the rest of the Batfam when needed.
