█ █ ➾ The Yamato is Vergil's trademark dark-forged blade It is a legendary sword that was once wielded by his father, Sparda, and was left to Vergil as a keepsake. **

█ █ ➾ Beowulf is a set of gauntlets and grieves with a somewhat animal-like look. The gauntlets vaguely resemble a wolfs head, with fangs and mane. The grieves look like clawed legs. They also have glowing veins that have white light flowing through them. **

█ █ ➾ Vergil's demonic form retains the same basic shape of a blue, reptilian humanoid, with minor variations depending on the weapon equipped. Also, while Vergil's Yamato demon form has traits somewhat like Dante's Rebellion demon form, he does have white tips on the end of his wings and has his upward spiked hair turning into a crest. However, unlike Dante, Vergil does not have exposed "ribs." **
█ █ █ ➾ Vergil's Beowulf Devil Trigger is blue with white energy streams. Vergil has a few features different from Dante's Beowulf demon form, such as his wings that moved up and vertically split into four pairs, rather than two, and retaining the blue "coat". **

█ ➾ Dark Slayer
█ █ ➾ Vergil is quite different from his brother in the sense that he doesn't waste nearly as much time with fancy styles or showing off. Vergil's style is that of a dead serious sword fighter. He uses his uncanny speed and teleportation to end a fight before it even begins, often making every movement count. He attacks from the moment he unsheathes his sword, and has it back in the scabbard before his opponent even knows what just happened. Though there are often situations when he actually has to try. This is when his true colors show. Vergil relies entirely on skill and speed, each move he makes is calculated and quick, and he is often 10 steps ahead of his opponent. His fighting style is known to very similar to Dante's "Trickster"- just without the flashy moves. Despite this, Vergil is an honorable fighter. He will not attack an unarmed opponent or strike from behind. He waits for his opponent to be ready, and won't kill an opponent he thinks doesn't deserve it.

█ ➾ In contrast to his twin brother Dante's boisterous, outgoing, and extroverted personality, Vergil is calm, cool, collected, and introverted, constantly maintaining an aura of fearlessness. Vergil cares little for the well-being of those around him, and is unflinching in his pursuit of power; however, in spite of his cold and ruthlessness demeanor, he is an honorable warrior, who maintains his own set of morals and disciplines, he despises fighting dirty and cheap tactics, and refuses using firearms, deeming them unworthy of a "true warrior", staying true to only his blade as well other melee weapons he manged to achieve from defeated enemies. His code of honor still surfaces while corrupted as Nelo Angelo, refusing to attack Dante from behind and waiting until both are outside to begin their first fight. **
█ ➾ It would appear that Dante and Vergil were close at one time during their childhood. After their fight against Arkham in, Dante and Vergil finish him off, with both of them firing one of Dante's guns, simultaneously saying a catchphrase, "Jackpot", after Dante asks his brother, "Remember what we used to say?" This bond between them, however, is not entirely gone. It is believed that during their last battle, Vergil refused to be saved by Dante so as not to acquire his father's power for himself, but to actually save Dante and not allow him to be trapped in the Demon World. This shows that despite their rivalry and mutual dislike for one another, Vergil in the end truly does care for Dante, but does not show it since he considers this emotion to be human and weak. **
█ ➾ Unlike Dante, Vergil is willing to embrace his demonic heritage, and seeks to emulate his father's power and cold persona. While Dante seeks to protect humanity from the demons, Vergil wants more demonic power, regardless of the consequences to those around him. Despite his normal personality of cold dismissal, he does cherish two things - the Devil-blade Yamato, a dark O-Katana left to him as a keepsake by his father, and his own half of the Perfect Amulet, a keepsake from his mother. Vergil seems to reveal some of his feelings by claiming to Dante: "Might controls everything, and without strength you cannot protect anything, let alone yourself.". This may be a reference to their mother's death. It may also imply that Vergil seeks power as compensation for failing to protect her. His failure may also have made him forsake close human relationships. **
█ ➾ After his 'revival' following his imprisonment by Mundas, Vergil began to open up more around his brother. They hold a deep understanding of one another after the pain that they had shared. Vergil even revealed to Dante that he had been trying to gain power not as a grieving for their parents, but in hopes to find the mother of his son, Nero. Vergil still never shows fear, but he has a hard time coping with the loss of his will under Mundas. He at first felt resentment for his brother doing what he couldn't. He feels that his moment of weakness was exploited because he failed to dispose of his emotion. He still has nightmares from his time as Nelo Angelo. These days, however, he spends his time working alongside his twin again. He will never admit it, but he enjoys having the chance to enjoy life- even in the human world. His experiences have warmed him up and convinced him to be more appreciative of life. There are few people that he cares about, but he would kill thousands to keep them safe from harm.
█ ➾ His normally emotionless demeanor has changed because of the time he now spends with his family. He even jokes from time to time. Though his 'jokes' are usually aimed at his brother or son.

█ ➾ After his fight with Dante as Nelo Angelo, Vergil's remaining spirit manifested into a ball of light that immediately left the room. Much to his own surprise, he found himself outside of the mansion on Mallet Island when he woke. After catching his bearings realized what was about to happen to the island. When he came across an old plane he compromised the integrity of the floor, knowing it would cave in. Certain that his brother had a way off the island, he then searched for his own escape. With his injuries slowing him down, he manged to leave the doomed island on boat about the same time as Dante.
█ ➾ Years later Vergil would reunite with Dante while searching for his lost lover. His sword, Yamato had been stolen during his detainment by Mundas. His search led him to a town named Fortuna. This is where he would meet his son, as well as recover Yamato. After this encounter, Vergil turned to leave again, hoping to continue his search. But Dante stopped him. "You're still going to leave after all that?" He had asked. Vergil gave no response. "Why were you even there to begin with? The island I men." Dante then looked at Nero and back at Vergil. "Does it have to do with his mother. Vergil continued to walk away. "I was weak then." He said. "And I'm still not yet strong enough." He said nothing more. But when Dante returned to the shop, there he was. And he had bought groceries. He has been living there ever since.
