The Wyrm Eater
★★★✩✩
Even the dragons, for all their unreasonable might & power, are subject to the whims of those they consider lesser. No one but the gods themselves may be immortal, and sometimes the scaled ones needed a reminder that no one, not even they was immortal to the one true force in the worth. Death.
This blade was created by one of the dragons themselves. Forged for the hands of a powerful warrior from the blessed bones of the those who came before him. It was once a just blade, but has long since been corrupted with powers most grotesque. It held a different name back then "Ragnaros" the blade of strength.
To understand the fall of this weapon, one must understand the man who once held it. A leader once loved & respected among them. His name was Amarkos the Red Sun. However, he was also an idealistic man. He believed that peace between the races could be achieved, but the dragons were violently resistant to this idea. They thought the other races to be rodents. He tried to convince them, but none would listen to her words despite his words. He let it be, only trying again every so often. However. the final straw came when a dragon raided & destroyed a village for no other reason than joy. This dragon was not punished but applauded for his treatment of the worms.
Sick of the arrogance of its own kin he decided to show his brethren the price for their arrogance. Forsaking even the form of a dragon this man went on to wage a brutal attack on his own kind slaughtering hundreds of them in the coming months with few able to stand up to him.
The blade he held was no longer just, covered in the blood of those who once looked to him. It was so strong that it easily cut through the scale of the dragons. Blade to blade, or blade to fang it crushed ll before it. It became a shadow of its former self.
He destroyed many a winged beast, until finally he was brought down not by dragon, but by two outsiders. Two powerful beings that held powerful weapons of their own. A werebeast, a woman who wore the bands of honorable warriors, and someone who held a blade as mighty the scales of a dragon. It was one he recognized as being forged the same time as his own. They engaged him in a fight, eventually beating him out after an intense battle.
He was confused as to why they would help the dragons. Those who would attack them, treat them like dirty rats as opposed to anything else. When he asked them the warrior why, he was answered with a simple hand, but that hand meant more to him than anything. He wasn't killed that day, but locked away as a criminal.
At the time the blade was taken by the warrior, kept as a set of blades. This warrior was skilled, very powerful a credit to their own kind though eventually the weapon was cast away, set to serve as a reminder of what the arrogance of dragons may one day bring upon them.
However once the War of Dawn began, this weapon would once again be turned on its own kind & the first life it took...as Amarkos's. As part of the mountains besieged by dragons Amarkos was called upon to fight, but at the time no one knew the power of the fallen, no one was prepared & the former once mighty king was now a shadow of his former self. He was killed easily. The fallen who killed him continued to hold the blade, slaughtering countless thousands with it. The fallen was known as Cadmus, one of the armies greatest generals.
When it was discovered that weapons could be changed even further, taking them to a new level the fallen learned to do so as well. This weapon became the Wyrm Eater, a weapon the dragons would learn to fear unlike any other.
For as long as the war waged Cadmus was there taking victory after victory, his black ice covering fields with cold & death. However, the end of Cadmus came when he fought against the user of Ragnell. The two blades clashed, fire & ice raging upon the field until finally Cadmus was felled.
At the end of the war the weapon was buried with Amarkos & the tomb was hidden away.
