This guide is made available to all teachers at the Academy as well as at all three Universities. This guidebook is meant to make teaching easier for both the faculty member, and the students who take their courses.

Before setting up a class, you must gain approval from staff! There is a hiring thread for University graduates located here that you may have your Nightmare or Daydream apply in. Aside from applying that way, your Teacher can be an approved quest that has been fulfilled by a colorist!
Teachers need to run activities for their students to participate in so that they can earn the necessary credits they need to grow, or graduate. Without these activities, these requirements cannot be fulfilled, and growth/graduation will stagnate - so teaching is a very important role!
Note: Class Assistants do not need to have a Nightmare/Daydream to run classes, they can set them up with NPC teachers!
Activities:
Activities should follow some of these guidelines listed here, if you have any questions or need assistance coming up with some activities, you are more than welcome to ask for assistance from staff (or even fellow customers).
Activities should be:
- Fun, first and foremost! We want everyone to enjoy doing their growth/graduation requirements, not find it boring or a hassle.
Relevant to the course! You are allowed a lot of leeway because of the setting and because not all topics are easy to make fun for everyone, but activities should be relevant to the course subject.
No longer than 15 minutes. Again, we want this to be fun, and not tedious! For this reason, activities should not take longer than 15 minutes at the most.
Contain easy to copy-paste requirements/prompts, as participants will need to show what they were responding to when they posted in the class!
It's generally a good idea to have 6 unique activities planned, so that you can cycle through them throughout the year in whatever order you choose. If you don't get a lot of participation for a particular activity, it's completely acceptable to roll it over to the next grading period!
Additionally, you can set your class up to cycle through activities how ever you like. You can repeat activities if you are unable to switch them out, or opt to just change activities whenever you like. Always make sure that whatever activity you're doing has an easy to paste prompt/rule set in it!
Grading Periods:
Typically, classes last at the most, one month. At minimum, two weeks. In the past, we used to have set times in which we would quote each participant to let them know their kid had passed the class. We found that this practice became very stressful, and have since opted to remove that aspect of classes. Now, grading happens when a NM/DD is submitted for growth. All you need to do is change your class activity at least once a month!
Grading:
Grading is now done by the colorist for whichever NM/DD is being submitted to growths for! In the case of graduating seniors, its done by certists. The colorist/certist will check to see if the NM/DD properly fulfilled your activity's prompt requirements, for this reason its very important to make sure that your activity's requirements are easy to paste into a post with a response in it.
Note: If, for any reason, a customer becomes upset because their student did not pass a class and comes to you about it, and you are not comfortable handling the conversation, you may instead ask a staff member to handle it instead. Please send a PM to Nightmare Adira with the details of the situation.
Customers who run their own classes are welcome to have their other Nightmares or Daydreams participate in said classes, however, every person who runs a class is allotted one class point per class they teach. This class point is only good for that particular class (i.e., if you're teaching Art, you can use your class point to fulfill Art without actually taking Art). You get one point per grading period. These points may be redeemed on one Nightmare/Daydream, or several. You must post in your class stating that you're using your class point, though!
Note: Class Assistants can check in once a month with the classes that they've rolled over to receive full class requirement fulfillment on up to 3 NMs/DDs.
