They were once great friends. They were like two atoms put together; you couldn't pull them apart. They were so close, they knew each other so well, they knew how to make each other happy. They had grown up in a small little town in the middle of nowhere, spending their days in the neighbouring forests and lakes. It seemed like it would never end, but little did Aniyah know, it would. [Your Character] has always thought about leaving town, to explore what was out there. He had mentioned it to Aniyah a couple of times, and she had told him he was crazy. He supposed he was, since one rainy night, he up and left, without a trace. With no goodbyes, no warning. Gone. At first, Aniyah was in a panic. She had thought that he was kidnapped, murdered, all that could possibly go wrong. Though the more she thought about it, the more she began to realize he had gone on his own accord. Her fear and worry would soon turn into anger, and almost hate. How he could leave? How could he not tell her?!
She felt like her heart had been torn from her chest.
That was their senior year of highschool. Now it has been a few years and [Your Character] has decided to come back. Will Aniyah still be angered, or will she be forgiving and simply glad that he came home.
Aniyah is the kind of individual you could turn to if you're down. She cares about her friends to a great degree, and will do anything to cheer them up if upset. She can be pretty timid when put in situations where she's in public, or in large crowds, as they make her extremely anxious. She prefers the indoors, and watching movies. You know you're close to her when she's not afraid to be weird or silly around you.

Name: Vincent Emil Roberts
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Personality: Stubborn / Kind / Dorky / Sometimes serious
Emil is caring and knows how to play it cool around strangers, but he usually only shows his true personality among his close friends. He loves to adventure and spend hours reading either books, articles online, or anything in general that is related to history and geography. He still enjoys some old clichés about romance, but more the idea than the actual action. You could say he loves to pursue his dreams.

Time seemed to move like molasses at this point. Another busy day, doing nothing. Aniyah let out a tired huff, sitting behind the counter on a chair she pulled from one of the tables. After all, no one was going to miss it, considering there was practically no one in the building besides her and the manager. Come to think of it, no one really came in during this time, eleven in the morning, where everyone was at work and school. No one even needs a coffee at this time, why was she even here?! The black haired female groaned as she pushed the front feet of the chair off of the ground with her feet, leaning back while she glanced at the time. Someone, for the dear love of god, come in already. She always hated being trapped at work with nothing to do.
Sure, she could probably clean, or do some prep work, or something, but she had done all of that already, and there was no point in doing it all over again. The only thing she could do and just wait. And waiting left her thinking. And thinking, was a bad thing when it came to Aniyah. Considering she had a job that had her constantly talking to people, she could go through and just relive every moment where she's fumbled with her words or messed up an order so badly that even she didn't know how it happened. Cringe-filled moments that just replayed and replayed and she couldn't pause them. No, she had to think about something else, anything else. Please, for the love of god, someone come in...
With another huff the female straightened herself up, letting all four feet of the chair touch the ground. "Okay, that's enough, I need to do something. What's a thing I can do...Inventory? Yeah, Inventory works." Aniyah mumbled, slowly pulling herself up from the chair and heading to the back. She flipped on the light in the storage room which flickered on after a couple of fizzles of failure. She should probably change that too...
Picking up the clipboard that sat hanging on the wall, she began to count all the cups, coffee beans, sugar bags, and about everything else in that room, simply hoping that someone was coming soon. Even if she messed up, it would be better than doing the most boring application of addition there was.

━━━━━━━━━━━...........
Had something actually changed in this town? Nothing seemed to have changed much in the time he had been gone. Every since he had left some years ago, Emil pretty much hadn't stepped on the town. Why? To feel regret or get attached to everything here? The man wanted to achieve his goals and the best way he could have done it was by leaving everything behind... which was exactly what he did. Maybe there were some things he could have done in a better way, but there was no time for regrets now. What was done was done and there was no going back.
However, now that all that hard work was over, Emil was finally back to his hometown. This is where his family, his friends,... his best friend was... Oh, but how to confront Aniyah? She... It was just too difficult to think about it, but... then again, one of the reasons why Emil was back in town was to make things right! The man had gotten in contact with his parents and also some of his old high school friends, with their help Emil was able to know Aniyah's whereabouts. It was a great strike of luck that she was still in town and that he knew now exactly at what café shop she worked at. Was he nervous? Hella! But, hey! This was all part of the mending part! All he hoped was that she would be willing to talk to him. C'mon... they were best friends. Hell! Emil still considers Aniyah his best friend, but does she? The man hasn't lost hope in this, but he had yet to prove his theory right.
He had already settled on his parents home for the moment, seeing how he was only staying for a couple of days before he left. The man had gotten a job on the neighboring city, so he wouldn't really be that far.
Anyways, hoping for the best, the man entered the café shop and took a seat close to a window on the right side of the place. He awaited quietly, trying his best to not show how nervous he was. All he wanted was to see his best friend at the moment.

As Emil had stepped into the tiny cafe, a bell that hung above the door jingled sweetly, alerting the staff within that someone had come in. Hearing this from the back, Aniyah let out a sigh of joy and relief; relief that she wouldn't be taking inventory for much longer. She couldn't really see who came in from where she was standing in the storage room, but she happily called out to the customer, loud enough so that they could hear her. "Welcome! I'll be out there in just a second!"
She took a few quick moments counting a a couple more items in the room, taking a record of them, and then placing the clipboard back into it's place she began to step back into the main part of the cafe, dusting her hands off with the half apron she wore around her waist. She didn't look up at first, and it wasn't until she was stepping out from behind the counter she would. And the second she did she stopped right in her tracks.That...That isn't who she thinks it is, is it? She could feel her stomach drop and her heart begin to race. This wasn't happening right now. It couldn't be. Did he actually have the nerve to come back here, after simply disappearing with no trace?
Aniyah was speechless for so long, just staring. She was at a loss for words. And while she stood there she was trying to figure out how to feel. Is she happy at he came back? Is she mad that he left? Does she cry? Does she lash out and yell? She didn't know. All she could do was just stand there like an idiot, eyes wide in shock and surprise. After what seemed like forever she finally said something, but it wasn't much. She gulped hard, managing an unsable,"Emil..."It was so uneven and shaky, shaky with a sense of frustration yet hinting at a bit of pain. What was he doing here? What did he want? She didn't move from the place where she was standing by the counter and just stared, her expression holding no pure emotion. Why did it have to be him, of all people?

Emil looked up, hearing that familiar voice call. It certainly brought a warm smile to his face listening to it once more. Is definitely Aniyah. Oh how eager the man was! However, having his eyes locked on his friend, Emil caught on to her sudden change of expression upon seeing him. Surely that wasn't what he had been looking for... and it had killed something inside him to see her change like that. Like something sunk inside. Nonetheless, the man wouldn't let this kill his excitement to meet with his best friend.
He cleared his throat and tried his best to make a simple formal smile, though quite mild. Shy almost. He could tell Aniyah looked and was different. The years seemed to have done her well. More matured, you could say, but with that special touch of freshness of youth. Emil had changed too. Now he had a mild beard, more like over grown scruff, also had lost some weight, but at the end of the day, he was still the same Emil he has always been. Or at least... that's what he liked to think. Anyways, it was time to talk, and it seemed he would have to do most of the talking.
"How you've been, Aniyah?" Basic and common words was all that Emil could manage at the moment. His mind had seemingly gone blank. It would seem he was more nervous than he had thought. Again, he cleared his throat and stood up. Should he hug her? Should he offer a hand shake? What would proceed now? It had been almost 5 years now since they had last seen each other. "I..uh... Do you think we could talk?" he said, his dark brown eyes looking soft by shy as they lock them upon her.

Her light blue irises locked on his brown ones while she still remained silent. After her initial state of shock and mixed emotion, panic started to set in. Anxiety was beginning to bubble in her stomach like a disgusting witch's brew of terrible emotions and feelings that she didn't understand. Did she still feel the same way she felt all those years ago?
Hearing him ask if they could talk, Aniyah shut her eyes, and at that moment she just cracked. What was there to talk about? He decided to leave, and he decided not to tell her. It was simple as that, there was nothing to talk about. In a sudden switch of expression her gaze became cold yet pained, as if she was offended.
"Talk? Talk about what? The fact that you've been gone for a whole five years? Hm! I would of never noticed!" Bitter sarcasm leaked into her words like poison, though the full blown panic was setting in her system by the second. She felt like throwing up, she felt like screaming. She tried her best to keep calm, but she had a feeling that her emotions were going to get the better of her real soon. She crossed her arms while her eyes narrowed some, glaring at the person who she once believed was her greatest friend. But was he really? What kind of friend leaves you wondering if they've been kidnapped, to the point where you almost file a police report?
"Why did you even bother coming back? I would of thought you would've forgotten me by now, hm? Did you really expect me to just drop the fact that you just disappeared without a notice, a sign of where you were going?"

There it was. Emil expected at least this much... but even if he knew what was coming it didn't mean it wouldn't sting. Her words were true, and that was probably what made it hurt all the more. Honestly he had been an arse for leaving like that, but... he had his reasons! The reasons he wanted to tell her, but it would be difficult to say the least.
"I had to do it. It was for the best. Please, let's talk some where else when you're not at work." he pleaded, not only with words, but with his gaze as well. Emil knew fully well that he had no right to feel bad or hurt at the moment. Her words were nothing compared to what he had done to her. Even his mother had scolded him for not telling Aniyah that he was leaving back ago... When the man spoke he tried his best to keep his composure and not let his emotions get the best of him. There were so many things he had to tell Aniyah, so many things and it seemed there was no time for it. Again, it was his fault, but that is why he was fighting to make things right!
"I don't want to cause you trouble at work... Please call me, Aniyah... I'll be staying at my parents home while i"m in town." Out of his wallet, he took out a small business card that had his contact information. It seemed that Emil worked for a a construction company as one of the engineers. Anyways, after doing that, Emil gave Aniyah one last glance before he stepped out of the place quietly.
