x x Waking up was one thing. Getting out of bed was another. After a long night of heavy drinking, on top of the abundance of food he ate, Charlie wasn't sure if he would be ready to be picked up in half an hour. The man merely lied there resting his eyes for the next ten minutes to come until he heard his phone vibrate on his nightstand. Tracy, probably. Rolling over, Charlie reached for his phone and unplugged it from the charger before reading the text. More began to flood in.
'Be there in five minutes' 'You better be awake' '??!!?' 'WAKE UP'
He quickly replied before the three dots could pop up again.
'FIVE MINUTES? YOU SAID YOU WOULD BE HERE AT NOON'
'Well we left early lmao'
Cursing, Charlie threw the blankets off him and hurriedly pulled on a pair of black sweatpants along with some grey t-shirt that was lying on the floor. He didn't care about his appearance at the moment; he would have plenty of time to change on the road. Quickly brushing his teeth, he grabbed his unopened travel toothbrush from the drawer and a new tube of toothpaste, as well as his shaving kit and razor. Charlie was nearly out of breath by the time he made it to the elevator in a sprint, which was unfortunately all the way down the hallway and around the corner. He honestly felt as though he was standing there for hours by the time the elevator had reached his floor. Stepping inside, the male dropped his luggage bags and hit the 'L' button, releasing a heavy sigh as he pulled out his phone.
Tracy of course had been blowing it up with texts which he chose to ignore because he would be seeing her in a minute. Once he had reached the lobby, Charlie picked up his bags and headed out the front doors in a light jog to see two RV's parked by the curb. "Took you long enough!" His father exclaimed as he got inside. "I was told to be ready for noon," he retorted, glaring at his sister before getting his stuff situated. Besides his late mother, Charlie was the only one with an accent in the family. He was born and raised in Scotland for the first fifteen years of his life before moving to the USA to move in with his father and sister, after his mother had passed. Tracy just smirked at his glare and went back to playing on her phone.
"Meghan," he greeted, smiling warmly at the girl as he moved to embrace her. Although they didn't see each other as often as Charlie would prefer, it was always a pleasure when he did. She was one of the first American's he'd met upon his arrival and they got along quite well ever since. "You look more beautiful every time I see you." He said as he sat down in front of the girls, Tracy making an audible sound of disgust. "She's like half your age, old man," she teased, knowing full well how old her brother was. He was only seven years older than the both of them, which he guessed seem like a lifetime in a twenty-two year olds eyes. "I may be old, but I can still whoop your arse six ways to Sunday." Charlie smirked at his sister and she just scoffed. "With your brittle a** bones? Are you sure your hip wouldn't pop out or something?"
"ARE YOU TWO DUMBASSES FIGHTING ALREADY?" Their father shouted from up front. "I don't argue with halfwits, dad. She would only drag me down to her level and beat me with experience." He looked back at his sister when he said that and chuckled seeing that her mouth was agape.
