Sitting in the drab cold room as per the usual, Dayanara sighed to herself. The weather outside was dreary but inside this room it was just as dreary at least to her. "Another day gone and I am still here" she muttered to herself. Her dream was to be adopted by a loving family one with sibilings her age and older so she would always have someone around her to love. Her biggest wish next to being a nurse was to have a family.
Today only 2 visitors to the orphanage and both of them left without a child. Wondering if they didn't like any of the children or it was they did not get past the director. She was a stubborn one! Dayanara knew she was only protecting those in her charge but it sometimes seemed like all she did was keep the children there instead of being in homes with a family.

Kayndie looked outside the rain was heavy, the wind blustery and it was very dark and dreary. Debating to herself if she should wait til tomorrow to go to the orphanage or attempt to go today and talk to the director again. Refusing to give up Kayndie knew there was a child there who needed her and she was determined to find that child and bring them home, their home. Picking up her small satchel she put in her papers then made sure it was securely closed before reaching for her jacket with a hood. Looking around she found her large umbrella and picked it up. Slinging her satchel over one shoulder she put on her jacket and buttoned it up tight before picking up her keys, turned off all the lights but the one next to the door and went outside.
The wind was cold and blowing with a strong intensity. Shivering, she opened her umbrella and began the walk to the orphanage. It was not that far of a walk but in this weather it was seemed like it was very far away. Her head down she trudged onward to the orphanage, no matter the weather it would not stop her from trying to adopt a child.
In a few minutes it took to reach the orphanage she was soaked. Opening the gate that lead to the path up to the orphanage she took a deep breath and stepped inside. She had walked this path so many times before but this time felt different. She could not shake the feeling this was the day she would adopt a child. Why this feeling she was unsure but she smiled and walked on.

Restless Dayanara decided to take a walk inside the orphange. She could not go outside but she felt cooped up in the room and needed to get out somehow. Thinking about where she should go she began her walk down the hallway from her room, at the end there was a large room where the freshlings played. Inside was toys not all were new and not all were in great shape but it did not matter it was toys and they enjoyed them. Stopping and looking in she turned and walked off down the stairs next to the play room. Looking around to make sure no staff was about she quietly walked towards the large reception area where people were greeted as they walked in. Not really sure why she was walking this way she just walked.

Walking against the wind Kayndie hurried to the front door of the orphanage and turned the knob of the large heavy door pushing it open. Stepping inside quickly she turned and shook her umbrella out before placing it in the large container next to the door. Removing her jacket she hung it on the coat rack and turned to walk towards the desk. Her shoes were wet and she stumbled forward and let out a shriek. Gaining her balance quickly she laughed nervously and adjusted her satchel.
A sound caught her attention. Looking behind her she did not see anyone but she was positive she heard something coming from the direction of the stairs. Curious she began to walk that way wondering what she would find.

As she neared the bottom step she heard a noise not sure what it was she stopped. She knew she should be in her room it was not late but the weather forced everyone inside and it was dark so the staff had the children go to their rooms for the night. If she was caught she would be in trouble but then she heard a shriek like someone was in trouble or hurt and she ran towards the hall not caring who it was just wanting to help.
Rounding the corner she stopped dead in her tracks at the sight of the Orange Demoness she had seen several times at the orphanage. She was the one Dayanara had ran into and almost knocked down. Instead of becoming angry with her she smiled and told her it was alright she was fine no harm done.
Not knowing what to say or do she just stood there as the Demoness walked towards her. She was unsure of what would happen next. Running seemed like a good idea but if the Demoness told on her it would be worse then if she was caught.

Suddenly there was a freshling standing a little aways from her. Kayndie was stunned, no one seemed to be about but this freshling was here? Something didn't make sense. As she neared the little one she realized she knew this freshling. It was the same child that almost knocked her over on one of her trips to the orphanage to speak to the director. The same child who helped the young litch to get medical attention, wrapping a bandage around their leg and helping them walk inside. This child stuck in her mind for a while and was the reason she was here tonight. She had hoped to see this child again and inquire as to fostering them. She sensed a special quality about them and wanted to give love and a happy home for them to grow in. One where they would feel safe and loved. Eventually adopting the child and making them her own.
Smiling and speaking softly as not to frighten the freshling that stood there she knelt down saying "Hello again little one. Do you remember me? I certainly remember you. My name is Kayndie what is yours?"] awaiting her reply she stayed still.
