Appearance: A short- and black-haired tomboy. Her skin tone is very pale, comparable to a vampire. She favours wearing a sleeveless loose shirt and tight flexible shorts in order to be comfortable and agile. When she goes to an arid and hot or cold country, she bears a hoodie and a black beanie.
Personality: She’s… favourable. On the one hand, she’s usually pretty stoic but kind. She’s happy to help those who need it and happier not to when they don’t. She takes nothing at face value for unknown reasons and rarely makes friends despite her disposition. With friends, she tended to be happier, more talkative and joking. When it comes to work, a slight hint remains of that smile but her quiet and calm demeanour becomes a stark contrast to her friendlier form. She’s just downright cold and dismissive of people she hates.
Bio: Jay Mason was originally born to a British female and an East European male. The mother worked as a security consultant for the father’s medicine firm and the two came together one night when both had too much to drink and in common. The father was only able to support monetarily as sex before marriage was dishonourable in his family, so the mother had to juggle her job and her daughter.
Jay, as soon as she was old enough to understand, was taught not to let her emotions show in order to prevent displaying her weakness. She came to understand why when she witnessed kids in her first year of primary school bullied and abandoned another girl for her ethnicity. She didn’t like to reach to people during her education and became more of a shut-in, preferring her books to people and their narratives or information to the drama and real life situations.
Her mother met to an unfortunate accident during a shift of work where details were undisclosed. However, her birth certificate still listed her father who was willing to ‘adopt’ her. In her secondary school years, she became proficient in the French language and took several trips there due to her father’s interest in their culture. She took a liking to physics and chemistry herself, which also included maths. When she left, she was about to take to her first course of university when her father approached her with an internal project of his company.
They were working on creating and perfecting a cryogenic stasis method that didn’t require a power source but didn’t have a metallurgist or similar in order to help choose the correct material for containing the lack of heat. Given half a year and with vigorous reapplication of what she could find in theses online, she eventually came up with a design that was kept secret between her and her dad. Construction went underway and was completed ahead of schedule, without any defect either of the two could find. Which, of course, was when the attack by unknown forces began.
They didn’t know if it was A.I. or human, but it was clear for the devastation they were out to stop them. Jay and Father were in the underground section behind sealed steel lead-reinforced doors. On 3504, Jay entered stasis.
Upon waking over an unknown time later, Jay found herself in a depowered room and not a trace of her father left. She didn’t know if he died peacefully or violently. She knew the attackers, somehow, didn’t get in. She knew she needed to find a way out. After sending an emergency signal through the network - running on emergency low power systems - the full base kicked online with back-up generators and she found herself in devastation on the surface. So she went to the only place she knew people could be easily.
She hitched a ride into Paris.

A piece of the shell from the cryostasis construction she helped build. A piece of salvage she intended to keep for reverse engineering later, it now forms part of her integral defense by sapping the energy from enemy attacks. Also so some idiot doesn't just climb in and get stuck for another century. She loved failsafes...
